Property Ratings at Monroe Park Towers Apartments
The new management team is very friendly and helpful and made me feel welcomed when I moved in. My apartment was clean and ready. This is my first apartment and they made it easy for me.

I wished somebody warned me what a disgusting, filthy place this was so I could run away. The management is full of lazy liars who are never in the office during hours. Good luck trying to reach them if you need help. The building has a million problems. They only have ONE working elevator that constantly breaks and is extremely slow. The stairways are full of trash and dog poop. If it rains the parking garage and basement, including the laundry room FLOOD. I have had to walk through inches deep of dirty water to get to my car in the parking garage. ROACHES infested in the whole building, you will get them no matter what because they don’t treat the problem. you have to pay $75 a month for parking in the garage since there is no street parking and they will TOW your car if you park outside. The parking lot dumpster also overflows with piles of trash and it smells absolutely terrible which is probably the reason they have roaches. The whole building is falling apart and disgusting and old and smells bad. Just stay away!!!

I have been living at Monroe Park towers for 2 years now. I think the building itself is amazing and I probably would live here again. the only issues I have are mostly with maintenance/office. Make sure to always check to see if you're being charged correctly for rent and maintenance to always be sure your at the house.. sometimes maintenance don't do their job correctly. The building does have cockroaches depending on the floor you're at and how well you clean your apartment. I think maintenance does a good job at getting rid of them because I haven't had an issue with roaches for a year now. Other than that, I think this is a good place to stay with roommates or by yourself ??
The leasing office is totally unresponsive to issues. They all act like the don’t even want to be there. Lots of times they aren’t. Maintience is too slow. One guy comes in to fix things, then the issue is not fixed. Gotta wait a week for the next person to come up and fix the issue. So sick of the neighbors being loud and the smell of weed constantly. Management does nothing when I call them. Elevator is always down, walking up and down dozens of flights is not fun at all.
This place is a roach infested mess. Management is useless and is always gone. Just take the reviews seriously

After sharing my experience of getting my first apartment and talking to my friends about it, I realize that this was the worst first experience. I chose this place because of how close it was and the utilities being included (the only reason this place even warrants a single star) the people in the office are not helpful at all. Noise issues, pot smell, dogs everywhere after telling me I can't have one. You get the vibe of drug trafficking with people just coming in and out and being strange and sketch. I felt secure moving in at first but as time has gone on, I feel more and more unsafe. The car port is left open and homeless people wander down there. The reviews with the roaches and stuff, are 100% accurate. You get what you pay for I guess. Thank you for setting the bar really low for me.

I hate that this was the first place I went with moving to Rva. The guy in the leasing office is so rude. They take take their time getting the maintience issue done, but the moment your rent late they are ready to take you to court and kick you out. The price is cheep but the service is too. You get what you pay for and I noticed spending a little bit more money gets you much better in this town.
By far the worse apartment in richmond, cockroach everywhere in the apartment, the leasing office people are rude and everything that people asked to be fixed is temporary. Save your money and find somewhere else better.
DO NOT MOVE HERE. Every floor in this building is infested with 1,000's of cockroaches! They keep getting worse and management does nothing about it. I have yet to talk to another resident that Doesn't hate this place. The shower water constantly changes temperatures while your showering, the walls are not very soundproof and you can hear everything. I wish someone would have warned me about this place before I signed my lease.
place is a craphole ive lived here for 2 years the first wasnt so bad but once they switched management everything went down the hole roaches everywhere, elevators norm are broken, the lady at the desk said dont worry about your leaky window it doesnt look like its going to rain in a while we'll get a look at it in the next week or sooo i mean reallly?!
The entire apartment building was built in the 70s so now the apartments on the inside are getting a little old. However, some of the apartments have been, and some are being refurbished. Yes, some of the apartments have a few issues and disadvantages, but the staff is very outgoing and tries to fix any issue you may have quickly. Overall this is a great apartment building for students, but maybe not an apartment to have a family. Rent is cheap in comparison to the other options around the Richmond area.
The apartments are very nice when it comes to the layout. I visited a friend's place and I liked the security of the building. Plus there's a jimmy John's right downstairs.
