Property Ratings at Monroe Tower
Management is at best horribly incompetent and at worst neglectful. They have failed to control a roach infestation, trash all over the courtyard, the building smelling like smoke, stolen packages, and many other problems. Additionally they walls and floors are so thin noise is a real issue. The location is good but really that’s all this place has going for it.
For the prices Monroe Tower charges, and for the advertisement as "luxury" management and services should be 100x better than they are. Pros: Great location, walking to Target, Giant, and nearby restaurants on 11th If you have a pet, monthly rent is cheap. That's all. Cons: People smoke cigarettes in the building. Ashes frequently in hallway and stairwells. Smell seeps into apartments. Very loud. Windows are not double pane, and Monroe is a busy street - on the route for the Fire Station, so frequent sirens. Building is not secure. There is FOB access, but the outside access system is frequently torn off the wall (likely due to the next point) Frequently drunk homeless men from the neighborhood have been found sleeping in hallways. Packages are stolen frequently. Management has no procedure for follow-up when this occurs, even though there are cameras in the mail/lobby area. Management is generally un-responsive and un-sympathetic. If you have issues, there is no follow-up, and it is difficult to get a hold of someone.
