What more needs to be said than that they encourage towing companies to take away your car whether you have current registration or not.
Don't be deceived. I thought this was great at first. The people they choose for management are very unsympathetic people who hate their job. They are less than helpful and make issues persist with no resolution. All problems have to reported multiple times and you'll be lucky if anyone ever even responds or resolves your complaint. I've had nothing but problems but them and I'm unfortunately stuck here until I can move into a proper house. The rent is astronomically high and more than a decent 2/2 house in the area. Their cabinets and drawers are cheap, painted over unfinished wood, the drawers squeak, some cabinets aren't lined up, the paint doesn't match and has been painted over HAIR because they didn't clean beforehand. Everything is janky and cheap. They FORCE you to use Parcel Pending package service which is anything but convenient. I've had a package stuck for over a week because management didn't have a master key (which they should have) and had to go over them and contact Parcel Pending and CC management to get my package! I just had FOOD delivered to the locker and now it will be stuck there until the 2nd so it will have gone bad. This place is a joke.

Hello RaeAnna, We believe what you have expressed is not quite accurate. Residents can cancel Parcel Pending at any time during their residency at Montage Apartments. We do also have a master key in the event that a package gets stuck in the locker and the resident's code does not work. We can also look for potential missing packages. We understand that it is frustrating to have your package stuck in the parcel locker over a holiday weekend, but we were very transparent with our hours for the holidays ahead of time. Had you called to request it, we could have arranged delivery of your package to your home, since you were not able to get here during normal business hours. It does seem that many of your complaints may be from prior to our new manager joining the team. We hope that you will start to notice many improvements to the property. Please do not hesitate to reach out of there is anything else we may assist you with.
DO NOT RENT HERE. This complex looks really nice at first but is a bait and switch. There are landscapers almost everyday it seems blowing leaves out of the bushes just to blow them back into the bushes for hours. Drug addicts leave needles and paraphernalia on the kids playground. There are drug dealers that the leasing office knows about and still hasn’t evicted along with their clients hanging out around the complex yelling. Homeless people constantly digging through trash cans leaving trash everywhere. I was woken up several times by homeless people breaking bottles outside my apartment on the walkway and they left broken glass everywhere management didn’t clean up for weeks. The pools are all nasty duck ponds and are gross to use. Cars constantly get broken into in the parking lot yet you pay for security. The maintenance people didn’t show up for 5 days one time when my apartment flooded and I had to clean it up. My apartment had horrible wiring issues and power surges all the time. The leasing office also made me pay 3 weeks past my move out date because they said I turned in my 60 day notice late without giving me any copy. Even though I already moved out, they claimed I signed my 60 day notice for an earlier date then I turned it in (if that’s the case then why wasn’t it corrected when I turned it in) on top of that I gave them 45 days of notice and the manager told me it was fine as long as my move out date was on it then later got rude and decided to collect 3 weeks extra rent and tell me it’s in my lease that I can’t view and they would send me to collections if I didn’t pay it. The people at the front desk are really nice at move in then switch up as soon as you go to move out with horrible attitudes and play dumb to your concerns and are unwilling to work with you at all. They turned over their entire staff twice in 9 months so that should tell you something. The portal glitches often and my rent changed monthly, I never paid the same amount for rent in the nine months I lived there (always higher than I signed for). The portal wont let you view your lease after signing it either so you better take screenshots. Save yourself a headache and move somewhere else.
NO parking. Gate stays open 24/7 (DOESNT CLOSE). Model house will not look like your actual apartment not even close it’s just slap on paint. Leasing staff are clueless and just care for money. They won’t bother answering you once they get you to sign your lease.
I can go on forever but I'll save you the time and headache and just give you some pointers. We came to move in had everything packed and the unit was complete trash. When we came in to look at it,, it smelled like cigarettes and paint,, the bathroom was dirty,, there was 2 broken shelves in the kitchen and a broken drawer sitting on the kitchen counter.. How's that ready for move in.. BTW we got approved a month and a half prior and you can't see the place till the day you move in and sign the lease in person. You know so it's hard to turn it down no matter how crazy the place is.. Nothing like the model or online at all. Had to unpack at my old apartment and stay another month till we got a (fully renovated) new apt. When we moved into this new renovated apt it was also not ready but we had no choice. There weren't handles on any of the cabinets or drawers for 5 weeks. The washer and dryer were from the late 90's, the management and staff are the worst I've ever had to deal with, don't get fooled by the nice leasing office and big pool. The other 2 pools on the property are occupied by ducks all the time. There's cobwebs on all the buildings that they refuse to wash or clean off and no matter how you seal up the unit insects always find their way in not to mention they charge you for pest control. The hood over the oven isn't even a hood. It's a fan that sucks up the smoke from the food and literally blows it right back in your face. Don't believe me? Open the cab it's on top if the stove. BTW they won't tell you this but you will get charged a bunch of fees even though when you ask them if this will be my total rent and nothing else, they'll say yes but get it in writing cause it's somewhere in that 100 something page lease. A UBI bill for $115 will be billed on top of your rent. The 1st day we moved in to this Fully Renovated unit after getting screwed on the prior one, we had 13 work orders for them to come fix. 13 for a newly renovated unit. It took 9 weeks to finally get the AC fixed. They gave us gate keys with dead batteries and the smart lock died after 2 weeks that we had to replace. It's just batteries but that's not the point. The vinyl on the floor is peeling up, the sealant around the windows and floor is poorly done with holes everywhere and there wasn't any weather strip on the door. They painted over the old paint on the front door so it's blue with mushed up red.
I found this place for me and my ex an dat first it was great, office staff were amazing and loved Kat as manager. When Kat left everything went down hill, dog poop was everywhere, office sucked as new people were getting hired, the gate was always broken and the new manager michelle don't even get me started! She is the rudest and most unprofessional person i have ever met, she lied about us not paying our rent (we had the nps program) on several occasions, so when i had nps call she wanted to fake be nice. That's when she finally decided to all back after me calling and leaving messages for her, not to mention she was rude the whole time. She did nothing when we put requests in for wasps in OUR apartment, which was their fault for not fixing the screens on the windows! She LIED about us not giving a 90 day notice when it was her staff that failed to report we weren't staying, then tried to charge us for the following months rent after our lease was up, then demanded the keys be returned way before we had to leave! We're still fighting to get that removed not to mention you DON'T GET YOUR SECURITY DEPOSITE BACK!!! And fyi they went up on rent because they couldn't afford all the fancy renovations they have, please don't be fooled this is a bad place to stay and you'[ll end up leaving after a year like we did.
After living here a year we did not renew our lease. Management overcharges for all utilities, trash, etc. and will increase the charges for costs that should stay the same monthly (they doubled our sewer charge, there is no way of measuring that). After moving out we had to fight them on a bunch of bogus charges they were trying to take from our deposit.
Moved in March 2019. Since the move in, there hasnt been a single month that we havent had a maintenance issue. Needed a new mirror, that took 5 months. Washing machine stopped working. It took 4 times for our A/C to go out for the maintenace to actually check the a/c unit and discover it needed to be replaced and we went a week without A/C in the middle of the summer. Laminent floors started to peel about a month after moving in and months later when they finally came to "fix" it there was glue seeping from the seams of it even a month after they had redone the floor. Come to find out there is so much water and moisture in the floor that the glue wont dry and the entire apartment floor has to be redone. That was discovered about one month ago and still nothing has been done most of my neighbors that ive spoken with have complained about mold so bad there walls have soft spots. Its been less than a year and there have been more issues here than I had with a $600/mo. apartment in Maryville. High rent/fees, and for what? An apartment that's absolute trash and has nothing but issues. You'll be paying for their million dollar pool renovation not a nice place to live. Dont move here.
Come live here, if you never want to get your security deposit back. I moved out in April 2019 and they mailed us a letter with how much your security deposit refund is, but will not mail you a check. I have called and visited the front office many times, but have not had success in getting a refund. They keep saying the refund is in the mail, but it does not take this long to mail a check to my current address in Sacramento. My conclusion is that Montage Apartments, which is owned by JRK Property Holdings, never sent a check. Oh boy, if you see how many dissatisfied people are reviewing Montage Apartments, wait until you see the reviews for their parent company JRK. If I could give a negative star, I would. It saddens me to write this review, but I am not sure what else to do. No one will help me.
NEGATIVE STARS!! DO NOT APPLY HERE!! they are extremely unprofessional. My husband and I applied here and they LOST MY PAY STUB AND MY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER. when I called and was worried about them losing my personal information, the agent told me to "stop worrying about it and to stop being paranoid about it." This is my SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER we're talking about, and they just "lost it" and my paystub as well. The manager is very rude and told me that they did NOTHING wrong and that I'm overreacting because it's not a big deal that they misplaced my information because their office is secure. tell me, When is it NOT a big deal when your SSN is just floating somewhere along with other personal information??? They also told me that they would get back to me on the application by wednesday, then they pushed it back to Thursday then Friday .By Friday afternoon I called and they STILL HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING in spite of telling me that they would have an answer and pushing the date back THREE TIMES. I am more than glad I am not going to be living in this apartment complex because I would have had to deal with their unprofessionalism and inconsistence for however long I would have signed the lease. Unless you WANT someone that you trusted with your personal information to lose your SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER then apply somewhere else. There are much better professional, educated managers and lease agents out there. Thank God. Save yourself the stress AND money and RUN.
Cannot recommend you stay away from this place enough. I got absolutely raped when I moved out on cleaning charges, despite the fact that they were remodeling the unit after I moved out. They basically remodeled the place partly on my dime. They also sicked the credit collection agency on me before I even got the bill in the mail that broke down how they charged me, threatening to damage my credit unless I paid immediately. By the way, the collection agency they hired doesn't do payment through the internet, so they demand that you either send a check through snail mail or you make a payment on your credit card through the phone. As far as my time spent there, it mainly comprised of dealing with the worst parking logistics I've ever seen in an apartment complex and dealing with my chain smoking downstairs neighbors making my place smell like an ashh tray. Not to mention the constant ant infestations (in a second floor apartment) that plagued me every summer. If I didn't see at least one homeless person digging through the trash every time I pulled in, it was shocking. Also, they don't do a good job doing proper maintenance on the site. Case in point, my roommate parked under a tree and a branch fell off and damaged his vehicle. Montage refused to claim any responsibility and did not reimburse him. They're trying to remodel it into a luxury apartment complex, but don't buy into it. They put a nice coat of paint on things, but the buildings are old. So old that for at least 3 months, my internet would constantly go out because the wiring was so bad in the place that it couldn't hold a signal. The only bright spot is the front office staff and it's the only reason my rating isn't 1 star. They are all good people who treated me fairly. Beyond that, the corporation they belong to are greedy, non-responsive, and will try to milk you for every penny you're worth.
The montage has become the car registration patrol. My 2016 vehicle registration has been renewed but haven’t received my stickers because I just moved here and haven’t updated my address. Threatening to tow my vehicle in 2 days if I don’t get stickers.

The worst office staff I have ever worked with, for an apartment or otherwise. They make the DMV look like superstars. They are rude, incompetent, and literally everyone I've talked to in the complex complains about them, especially Mickey. Hating her is a uniting force between strangers like I've never seen. I left them a voicemail everyday for two weeks about a problem I was having with my gate key (which was especially a problem because they never gave me the gate code) and they never returned my calls. They straight up told me that because their manager wasn't in they weren't listening to voicemails. When I called the corporate line they said there's nothing they can do. They constantly claim to lose paperwork to increase fees. I could go into more details about why we left our lease early (like several people in this complex), but it's mostly a story about purposefully misplacing documents. The apartments themselves have nice floor plans but with poor quality features. Our apartment had cracks in the walls, and mold already growing in the shower. Their security is a joke. A woman was almost kidnapped on the property. save yourself a world of trouble and live literally anywhere else.
We lived there for 4 years, in that time we saw management change about 4 or 5 times, we saw security go down the toilet, we had our rent going through the roof and the facilities steadily degrading. When we left, we had to pay almost 500 even after repainting and deep cleaning everything; they truly ignore what is right in front of them and "work" you to steal every last cent they can. I didn't feel any more secure there than in my new apartment which is 500 cheaper!!!
Montage is an AWESOME place to reside for I have only been here a short while I am enjoying it and I know others would to. I know there are a few discrepancies but the many out way the few, such as a nearby nine hole golf course, convenient location to virtually everything, short drive to Lake Tahoe, Reno and San Francisco and if your up for a little longer drive L.A., Hollywood. I has been looking for an apartment for about a month and I found this complex so I contact them to asked about the lease. I call the number that they provide for contracting and they gave me another number to contact about leasing, I call about 5 times and every time it asked me to leave the voice mail, and no one has call me back from that number. So I call the provinding number again and told the lady that pick up the phone what was happened, Finally I know what I wanted to know about this complex so I summited the application online. About a week after I summiteers the application I call them to check what is going on, so the lady that pick up the phone told me what is the problem about my application. I told her "it's because ........", "I understand now, let me talk to my manager because the manager have the authorize to log in and I will call you back about couple hours" she answered. I said alright thank you so much for your help. Day one has past no one has call me back, from that day I has call them and asked them the same question and all they say was "manager is not here yet, I will call you back", "the lady that talked to you yesterday she went on a lunch break, but when she come back I will let her know to call you back". No one has try to call me or even let me know what is going on, all they did was "I will call you back" SO RIDICULOUS. They are nice and willing to help but they never tried to help AT ALL. If they don't want to approve my application or don't want to deal with the problem, just let me know so I can apply to another complex. But no, they just want to kick the problem away and just keep the application fee. I really want to know if the manager have even tried to fix this or this is just the marketing plan for your complex.
i came in looking for a clean nice spacious apartment for me and my husband i was also pregnant at the time so i asked them for a nice clean nonsmoking unit. When i came to sign my lease i was not able to check the unit without signing the lease ! me and my husband decided to try it out anyways because they said the unit was fully renovated and updated ! once we signed the lease we came in to move in once we came with one of the employees from there to go over the unit and make sure it is in good condition ! the smell was so bad ! it was so bad as if someone was smoking right next to me! and i specifically asked for a non smoking unit! because i was pregnant and wanted to make sure it wont harm my baby! we walked though the unit ! The unit was so destroyed ! Also the garbage from previous people that lived there was still there!!!! the plugs were not working ! the washer and dryer were not working the cabinets were all broken ! it was so hard to open them they were so bad !!! The wall has a big hole in the unit ! The walls also had different paint color !!!! Me and my husband immediately put our 30 day notice to move out because we already signed the lease ! i was so upset i sat on the carpet and was crying the lady that was walking us through the apartment asked my husband is she upset about the apartment !? once we put out 30 day notice we were told we were going to get our deposit back the full $800 dollars but guess what !!! once time came to move out i went to the office to make sure i was still getting my money back ! their management changed ! and all my paperwork and complaints and promises were gone!!! they said oh sorry we have no record of that ! we wont give u your deposit back ! they said i am getting charged for terminate my lease agreement and they charged me for the damage that was already there so they never game me a penny back!!!!! i went there and called every week and kept getting same answers all the time! they said i would get some kinda of refund but i will receive it it the mail and its been a year and i still have not received anything !!!! This apartment and management is the worst!! such crooks!!!! be aware of this place!! they are lairs and terrible apartments seriously the worst apartment i have ever been too!!!! we seriously could not sleep there at one point we were going to move in somewhere else till we find a new apartment because the smell was so bad!!!
Dealing with Montage Apartments has been a total disaster!! My husband and I decided not to go with this place after we applied because the apartment was not going to be ready on the date they promised. We were also concerned about the large power plant behind the apartment complex and the apartment looked old and dingy when we peaked through the windows. Don't be fooled by the model homes they show you. And please don't be distracted by the palm trees and the fancy leasing office like we were. I would suggest looking at the apartment you will be moving into before applying because our apartment looked nothing like the model home. They refused to show us our apartment because "it wasn't ready." Mind you, when we came, it was three days before our scheduled move in date! Thank goodness we decided to go by the apartment ourselves so that we were aware what were getting ourselves into! We were extremely disappointed when we saw the condition of the unit. Anyways, it has been nearly two months and they still have not returned our $100 holding deposit even though we cancelled our application within the three day window. I have called them numerous times and showed up once. I was told their management company, JRK, handles the deposit returns. Well I called JRK, Carolina was extremely rude and hung up on me! Supposedly, she sent an email to "Lauren" who approved the deposit returns. I was also told she does not have a supervisor and that there was no one else I could speak with about this issue. PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS! I wish I would have listened to all the negative reviews on here before giving them my money.
Thought this place was great when I first moved in, but now I realised for rent. isn't all that and way to small for the price I pay. Plus the Windows always were shattered from all the golf balls.
It's nice and modern on the outside, the maintenance is responsive and the staff is kind. But it's poor on the inside. We have a constant mold issue. The windows leak horribly it causes mold in the bathroom, windows and patio. They told us just to keep up on cleaning the water coming in but how can we when its so constent? The paint on the doors are already peeling off(we have only been here four months). Parking is a pain, if you come home past 7pm your likely to be walking ten minutes to get from your car to your apartment. The noise is not too bad, kinda of adverge for an apartment. They deffinatly need to focus on improving the inside of these homes.

We understand your frustration with the condensation that builds on your windows. It can be pesky to have to keep them dry. Fortunately, this is usually only an issue in the cold winter months (warm, cozy apartment on the inside and cold weather on the outside is what creates that condensation no matter where you go). Keeping that dry will prevent the mildew you have seen in the past. If you are having issues with your paint peeling, we can absolutely fix that permanently. Please call at the office at 916-722-3898. You should have an assigned covered carport parking space specifically for your apartment, so if you are finding someone parking in your spot, you have the authorization to tow them. We provide you this service so you are able to park in your own spot at any time. Please give us a call at your earliest convenience so we can resolve these concerns for you.
Nice apartments if you don't mind a lot of noise. Maintainence takes months to fix issues, and rarely shows up when they say they are going to. Going to the management there with a simple question, turns into a huge ordeal. always having issues with the gate so sometimes it takes hours to be able to get into the complex.
The staff here are friendly, willing to help. Maitnance crew are very professional and gets things done in a timely manner. Great place to live things are upkept and clean.
I have lived in Montage apartment complex for the past couple of years and it is and outstanding place with a vacation feel when you pull in with the palm trees all over to the water fall at the main giant pool along with 2 other pools threw out the place. Maintenance fixes problems with in 24 hours and there are washer and dryer inside unit full or half depending on the model you choose . its around every local store you will need while not to close to anything and put in a neighborhood. The ceilings are vaulted up stairs with a sky light coming threw and it is a really clean look . Overall a great place check it out !

Living at the Montage apartments is nice. They keep their pools clean as well and the landscaping is kept up. The maintence people and the office people have some miss communication about things. The only bad thing that I really have to say about this place is the parking is a pain. They assign only one parking spot to one apartment. Other than that the gym is great and everyone that lives here is friendly and mostly keep to themselves.
Ive been renting here for almost three years and I'm still very happy with my place. Complex offers three pools, fitness center, plenty of parking, and a friendly very helpful and professional office staff. Really affordable rent for the area. Great location close to shopping and restaurants.
I am very impressed with Montage office and maintenance staff. I have been here for 11 1/2 years. The landscaping is always kept pristine. I use a wheelchair and the Montage people have always honored every upgrade and modification I have requested. This is one of the largest apartment complexes in the area. I love it here and the staff are always so friendly and professional.. Amenities here at Montage: Playground, Fitness Center, Racquetball Court, Business Center, Three Resort Style Pools, Yoga and Cardio Group Room, WiFi at the Main Pool, Online Payments Available...
