Property Ratings at Montara Park
Wish I could give ZERO STARS! DO NOT RENT FROM CAMPUS LODGE! We have had the absolute worst experience with them! We are out of state so our daughter had to move in by herself the Saturday before classes start. When she arrived to move in, her apartment was not ready for move in. It had NOT BEEN CLEANED and 4 girls were moving in and starting classes the next day. On top of the entire apartment being disgusting their oven did not work and the washer and dryer did not work. It took weeks to get anything fixed so they could not wash and dry clothes or cook for weeks. Furniture, cabinets and blinds broken. The carpet was covered in stains. We had to hire a cleaner just so the girls could move in and they are refusing the reimburse us for it. My daughter's car has been broken into 3 times. They had a homeless man hanging out in their stairwell. They had to call the cops to have him removed. He had bolt cutters and drugs in his backpack. They have rodents living INSIDE the apartment. Reported it a week ago and no one has gone to fix the situation. They have seen pest control on the property twice since but no one has handled it. They have caught two rats in the last two days INSIDE one of the girl's rooms/closet. If you call the front office at 3:00pm during business hours the manager has already left for the day and the only way to contact anyone who should be able to do anything is email and of course they are not quick to respond. She is not the only one with these experiences. Unacceptable and unsafe living conditions! Terrible Management!

I like the place and the facilities are good. The staff is supportive. However, the emails are often not replied to which is sometimes a bit irritating. Hence 1 star less. Overall it is a good property and I would definitely recommend it to my friends who come here.

DO NOT RENT HERE!!!!!!! I’m currently locked out of my apartment and they won’t send anyone to unlock it for me because it is after hours. They have emergency maintenance workers that are up 24hrs incase they are needed but their policy doesn’t include being locked out even thought every single one of them have a key. People break into cars and steal anything you leave in there often. One of my neighbors got a tire slashed a couple weeks ago. This place does not make you feel safe and will not help you when you are in need. I will not be resigning here and no one should sign to live here. The fridge in my apartment has been leaking since I moved in and they have came to “fix” it 3 times but nothing has changed. This place is a scum hole and the neighborhood surrounding it is even worse. DO. NOT. RENT. HERE. It will be a waste of your money if you do.
For the price it is ok. It is in a part of town that isn't the best and you will have to lock your doors/ car doors. Me and my friends have had things taken from our vehicle and there is no security cameras so you won't be able to anything about it really. There is a high rate of turnover rate for the staff and there has been new people here for the past 3 years that I've lived here. The appliances, furniture, and things in the apartment are cheap. So with that being said expect a little higher utility bill but if you have curtains it can help on your heating and air costs. They have a new maintenance crew but in the past when I would make a complaint things would never really get fixed when broken. My drier would take 3-5 loads to dry my clothes and I complained about every month for a year period when I finally convinced them to replace my drier for a new one. What they would do is send maintenance to fix it but it would never get fixed. Also, one summer my AC went out and for 5 or 6 days straight I would make a maintenance order with them and they would send a maintenance man to flush the AC but he did it incorrectly and it would stop working after a few hours. It eventually got fixed when their main maintenance man returned but this was still unacceptable. Additionally, they charged us 144 in total for utility overage for the month ( $36 between the 4 of us), but I complained and got it adjusted to $28 between the four us which I still didn't find completely fair but that is how they are. I would say the positive highlights on campus lodge would be they offer a decent amount of amenities with free printing, tanning, a pool, a hot tub, a 24/7 gym, and the property as a whole is rather clean. Also, it is nearby to campus, and you can ride the bus to campus and if you decide to walk it is a 30 minute walk.
The place itself is pretty decent. I first moved in here 2 years ago and at first it was great. Cheap, spacious, decent amenities, and furnished. Then management changed. -The first big issue was when my roommate had a broken toilet that wouldn't flush. We submitted a work order request immediately. It took them over 2 months to send someone to come fix it even though we asked about it repeatedly!! -Campus Lodge also has two different options when moving in: regular or deluxe apartments. The deluxe is obviously a bit more expensive and better furnished. We chose to move into the regular apartment to save money right? Campus lodge increased our rent immediately after the new manager came in. We were paying the same amount as the deluxe apartments yet they wouldn't give us the upgraded furniture when asked!! This was just a few weeks after I had resigned their lease and I couldn't have regretted my choice more. -They also started charging us electricity fees every month even though my roommates and I were hardly ever home to even use the electricity. -They started this "paperless billing" thing which, I'm all for saving some trees, but while only giving us to pay online as an option, they also forced us to pay over $15 in fees in order to pay online. That's absolutely ridiculous. The only way to go around these fees was to set up automatic payments through your checking account. Some of us don't have that luxury!! -They only have one trash bin for all 16 buildings (each building has 3 floors and 4 apartments per floor which equates to 192 apartments total). That one trash bin is obviously not enough since the bin is always overflowing and it's honestly so disgusting. -To add onto the stuff that breaks in our apartment, our stovetop stopped working like four times and even when they came to "fix it," only 2/4 burners worked. -Our refridgerator started leaking an insane amount of water out of nowhere one day and kept leaking for a week straight. So we submitted a work request again. They came to work on it but all they did was turn the fridge temperature lower. This was NOT a solution because it made all of our food get freezer burn and which ruined them. -Lastly, parking sucks if you live near the back of the complex.
I loved the place due to all comforts and amenities we get here. Truely a home??

We are so glad to have you here! We hope you are still enjoying your apartment! If you have any questions or concerns about your home or the community, please let us know! We look forward to a great year together!
Would not recommend. Terrible email communication, if you want a response it often takes a week. If you have any roommates problems they will "attempt" to set up a time to met with you and then ignore you for a week then decide to send you a later saying they are relocating you. It took them over 3 weeks to fix my dishwasher and I made numerous calls and visits to the office. When you move out they try to charge you with everything under the sun. The computers in the computer lab are often down so it defeats the purpose. It's really not worth the price or drama. The list could go on and on. Honestly, don't move here.

There are cheaper places in Norman, but the amenities, utilities paid, and location can't beat Campus Lodge's offerings for the money. I'm currently paying $439 per month, but that pays for all my electricity, water, and air- and you can pay less the earlier you sign in the year. The pool and gym are a solid 4.5/5, and the mail and trash are always on time. The only downsides are that you get 4 roommates, which gets a little cramped, and the trash is one compactor in the middle of the complex, which fills up fast. But maintenance is good, and you can ride the bus straight to campus if you have a car.
Campus Lodge is a very affordable apartment complex. Rooms are pretty nice: 4 bed, 4 bath, with a shared kitchen/living room/laundry room/patio. You have the option of getting an upgraded room for a little more per month, which I highly recommend. Comes with a nicer TV, nicer furniture, and nicer carpet. The staff is nice, but they burn through employees super quick since most are students. Maintenance is pretty quick to respond to requests which is nice. There are three negatives to Campus Lodge that really turned me off: 1) The police officers that live there are useless. Seriously, you would have quicker response times calling the Stillwater PD. There were tons of times where there would be children( 11-14 year olds) who somehow get their hands on keycards and gain access to the gym. The cops (who again, literally live in the complex) take so long to get there, the kids have already worked out and left by the time they got there. 2) The gym is super super super outdated. There is constantly broken equipment in the gym and the cardio equipment is probably as old as the people who live there. When something breaks, it stays broken. The office here can't really do anything other than request repairs to corporate, who don't care enough to do anything about it. One piece of equipment has been broken for 6 months. The AC is also pretty bad and it is regularly 90 degrees in the gym during the summer. 3) Campus Lodge is on the east side of Norman, which is the bad side. There are constantly cop cars across the street from the complex and I personally know of cars being broken into and bikes being stolen on the property, which sucks. There are always children who will take over the basketball court or the swimming pool which is frustrating. I think a three star rating is good for Campus Lodge. Good affordable place, but there are definitely things that I would have liked to see improved.
I have lived at Campus Lodge for the last 4 years and renewed for the 5th year. Overall I have really enjoyed my time here at Campus Lodge! I am only moving out because I am ready for a place just to myself and they only over 4 bedroom units, so they won't fit my needs anymore. I love that each bedroom has their own private bathroom, very key for me. The front desk workers are extremely friendly, and maintenance is usually quick at fulfilling requests. Security lives on property and have a 24/7 number to call to report disturbances, etc. Property is clean and taking care of. The furniture isn't the most modern, but for the price is fine. However for just a little more a month you can get an updated apartment which is fantastic! I love the updated look, and it's still for an extremely fair rate. The gym equipment needs some work as some pieces seem to constantly be broken, but the pool area was recently updated is really great. The appliances in the apartments look dated, but they work fine. The neighborhood Campus Lodge is located in isn't the nicest but I haven't had any problems. There are newer and nicer complexes in Norman around OU, but all cost much more. For the price, I think Campus Lodge is great. Overall I have really enjoyed my time as a resident at Campus Lodge and would recommend them to others!
