Redmond's westernmost neighborhood, Willow-Rose Hill lies about midway between Downtown Redmond and Downtown Kirkland. Although the community boasts a convenient locale, Willow-Rose Hill feels like a quiet retreat tucked behind plenty of lush greenery. Willow-Rose Hill attracts plenty of outdoor-loving commuters who work at Redmond’s major tech campuses, including Microsoft and Nintendo USA.
The surrounding area affords residents access to local wineries and brewpubs, a lively seasonal farmers market, and one of King County's largest parks, in addition to an abundance of nature trails and water access at nearby Lake Sammamish. The best part of the package for Willow-Rose Hill residents may be returning to their own peaceful apartments at the end of the day.

Property Ratings at Montebello
We have lived at Montebello since 2020. There is never any office staff available and it's impossible to get someone on the phone. Our drywall is falling off in all places of the home, under windows and random corners and after speaking with neighbors they can confirm that theirs is as well!! Our dryer has left marks on our clothing and maintenance has come out two times to "fix" it with no luck. Just give us a new dryer!!! Currently, they are undergoing a huge plumbing project and invading our spaces with little to no regard for how it may affect the tenants. We are required to move all of our stuff and allow strangers to enter our space Monday through Friday when they see fit. All of this with no compensation whatsoever! DO NOT RENT WITH ESSEX PROPERTIES!! GREEDY & UNCOMPASSIONATE.

Lived here 3 years and have no complaints. Honestly a little sad to be leaving, but excited for a new adventure. The people here are nice, the apartments are very comfortable, and the management and maintenance crew have been hands down the best of any apartment complex I've lived in. Jeremy especially has been more friend than community manager. I'll be recommending Montebello to any friends that are relocating.
As a former and recent resident of the Montebello Apartments, I strongly suggest finding a different option. In addition to paper thin walls and floors making you privy to your neighbors' every movement, the customer/resident care is poor. If you are considering living here and value, respect, courtesy, accountability and have an expectation when paying premium rental prices that you will be treated with the utmost care, please, by all means, run the other direction! P.S. - I am a 40 year old, educated, professional family man and this is the first negative review I have given any business ever. I have had other poor experiences related to customer care, but this takes the cake and has prompted this review.
The Montebello apartments are close to nearly all areas in the Kirkland/Redmond/Woodinville area. The complex, as a whole, is quiet and safe. The bathrooms are spacious and the walk-in closets are spacious. The maintenance team is prompt. The managerial team is amazing. Overall, this is a great place to live.
Apartments have an open floor plan with large windows that make the homes feel larger than their square footage. The kitchens have standard rental price point appliances, but all function as they should. The master bedroom only has one overhead recessed can light. This makes the room somewhat dark. The master has a walk in closet of fair size hung on two walls. The master bath has a double vanity with ample drawer space as well as a built in “medicine” cabinet. The master shower has two shower heads and shower control units. Even though it has this there is not a lot of room in the master shower. The tenant will need to add some form of in shower storage. The second bedroom also has only one overhead can light. The second bedrooms closet is small and in a pseudo hall way connecting it to the second full bath. The second full bath has a conventional shower and tub in it. It is a regular size tub. There is a single vanity with minimal drawer space and a built in “medicine” cabinet. This bathroom also has a linen closet that is very narrow, but deep. Units come with a built in washer and dryer. They are small capacity and not very efficient. They are hidden behind double doors in the back of the living room. The living room has a wood burning fire place with a very small flume opening. The living room in narrow and tenents are encouraged to wall mount their TVs over the fire place. If one looks close there has been a lot of patch work to the dry wall in that area. Units come with some form of deck or patio. They are small but will fit one gas powered grill and have a small HVAC closet off of them containing the water heater. Units come with either a garage or a car port. We have a garage and it is adequate in size to fit our Jeep Grand Cherokee and some storage boxes in the front. Rafters are open. The grounds are well maintained and the club house has a 24 hour fitness room. It has a free weight rack, two treadmills, one elliptical, some spin bikes and a universal type gym. There is also a 24 hour indoor hot tub and a seasonal pool. Management is very nice and maintenances can normally get small job requests done within 1-2 business days.
