Property Ratings at Montecito
While searching for an apartment, the lady I spoke to was very nice and informative. She took the time and gave me all the information I needed. She was knowledgeable and responded to my questions in a timely manner. I was referred to the location by friends who know the area.
only lived here for 6 months and I cannot stress enough how poor these apartments are kept clean. they've marked my pest control requests as completed without spraying, which is shady at best. water turn offs without notification, and the washers and dryers are always broken. would not recommend this complex to ANYONE. unless you like roaches crawling everywhere and your vehicles getting booted for no reason.
The pool was closed until Sept and then closed again weeks later, on-site laundry has 1 or 2 working machines but the water's constantly off, out bldg has been without water 10 times in the last 6 months (for days at a time). You can find better for the same price if you just look around.
For one, this place doesn’t care about the requests you put in to fix things. I’ve input several requests and no one has showed up, for almost a year. I follow up but just get told to put in another request (???????) Also, the management is so unprofessional, my roommate signed his name off the lease but their name still appears on the lease agreement and they told me he has to to come in to sign his name off even though WE BOTH went to the office to sign his name off. This said friend now lives half way across the country and is extremely disappointed by this as well as he has to make a trip back to sign his name off AGAIN. Oh! They told me to remove my vehicle off the property or else it will get towed since it stays parked in one spot; I’ve informed them that I work from home and stay home most the time and don’t go out because it was still a pandemic and I feared for my health but they didn’t care and told me to remove my car from their property or else the tow will come and get it. My vehicle is working and nothing is wrong with it. Tags are up to date, insurance is paid, but I just don’t go anywhere. They lock the laundry room even though your still doing your laundry and when you’re not doing laundry, the doors are wide open all night and washers/dryers are broken. They started locking the doors before they put up the sign for the laundry hours! IVE WASTED MONEY ON THIS AND HAD WET CLOTHES SIT IN THE WASHER ALL NIGHT for days until they finally put a sign up! Bugs everywhere, no matter how much I clean and clean and clean, bugs are just everywhere and they won’t do anything about it! I’m moving out, if you can put up with unprofessionalism and filth, then this place is the perfect spot for you!
So happy to see all the wonderful improvements here, especially now to have all gates. Ignore the prior reviews, this has changed for the best!!! Team is very attentive and kind, so happy I live here.
Management does not deal with issues on a timely manner. It has occurred multiple times where we have to call a number of times to get issues resolved. Usually have to wait at least a month to get it fixed.
If you’re considering living here I highly recommend finding a new place to move to. I’ve lived here less than 2 months with no consistent hot water, a broken into car (and almost stolen), and so many lies and unkept promises by the management team that I’m now having to take legal action to move out of this hell hole and get my money back. If you can find a privately owned apartment complex I highly recommend that just because they’re usually a lot better at taking care of their residents and generally realize that they’re running a housing facility and not a zoo. These people will take your money and tell you that you can move in within the same week and then once you give them the money they won’t contact you or answer your calls for 2 weeks (After being informed that your move into these apartments is urgent). I genuinely have nothing nice to say about these apartments. They’ll make things seem really really nice for you and like this is the complex for you but as soon as your lease is signed and your money is given to them they couldn’t care less about what happens to you, your family, or your stuff. Save yourself a trip here and save yourself a lot of money by finding literally anywhere else to live (a cardboard box is preferable over this and that doesn’t have any hot water at all so that’s saying a lot).
Roach- infested apartments! Management doesn't do anything after you complain of leaks and damages in the apartment. They just ignore your requests to fix things.
I over heard someone talking about a bug problem and I PANICKED!!!! I asked them what was going on, I literally just moved in as I started to wonder what I was getting myself into. Apparently there have been people who are complaining of this issue, but the tenant I spoke to said they have been here since Jan 2019 and haven’t seen a thing, it was just a convo they heard and were stating they haven’t had an issue. Maybe I shouldn’t ease drop, I’m just nosy. I guess theres a building that has had bug problem, but the office said they are removing tenant from this building to have it sprayed to fix the problem. No matter what I did leave with jitters and as much as I didn’t want to check behind things I knew I had to for the peace of THIS IS MY HOME!!! I had this guy I’m seeing come over and do it, I didn’t tell him what he was looking for, I just said I needed to make sure things were plugged in right. He prob thinks I’m crazy. Too bad! Nothing, I moved the fridge, stove and looked under both sinks. I’ve been here a month and I haven’t seen any bugs, THANK GOD!! Either people are just complaining or that building needs work. I’ll definitely be watch to see.
things have changed here and its for the better! last year was tough as there was construction and management wasn't really helpful. Gina seems to be taking charge and it is so appreciated. Thanks Gina!
Moved in the beginning of the year. I’ve seen a lot of traffic with people moving out and new people coming in. I’ve met a few new neighbors we are thinking of creating a monthly group to get together and meet. Pool parties for the summer.
Recently moved into the complex and I’m enjoying meeting new neighbors when I walk my dog or I’m doing laundry. It’s so nice to have a clean and new laundry room, I’ve always lived in places where the machines are out of order or theres residue from detergent on the counters. Thank you for a clean space!
Close to the highway, nice property, its the simple things that make me happy.
Maintenance was quick to respond when I had a leak.
I’ve lived here since 2017 and overall my experience has been good! Management keeps you in the loop when there’s future renovations, which is appreciated. I’m enjoying the new look of the property and my interior renovations. Such an added bonus from when I first moved in.
It looks like they just switched out the management and they seem on point. They are working hard to correct the issues that have been here over the past few months that I have lived here and I'm starting to see a turnaround. Their customer service is worth the positive review.
Since moving here 6 months ago my heater has broken twice. I'm waiting going on 2 weeks now for it to be fixed the second time. I was given space heaters in the meantime. There have been numerous water outage issues with no communication. Save yourself the stress. Beautiful apartments. Horribly managed. Not enough maintenance staff to take care of all of the issues here and Manuel doesn't even know what he's doing so Kyle has to do all the running around.
I have lived here almost 2years and management is awful they are shady they act like they care and they don't when you complain to them especially John he gets real frustrated with you the roaches are horrible here they have a pest control company but they don't do a good job at all, I can't wait till my lease is over I am so disappointed in John and leetisha I thought they where cool people that cared but found out how shady they are, they are giving out notices to people and not letting them resign there lease just so they can remodel, if you get on there bad side they will find away to kick you out DONT LIVE HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT
Lived at this place for two years (closest to my job), at first I liked it. It was quiet which I loved. First the roaches are on a different level! Worst I've ever seen! Tenets refusing to let the exterminator go in and the management "couldn't" do anything but raise my rent. There's a revolving door of tenets, evictions or due to the bug problem, which made the bug problem worse with trash being left behind. To top it all off I got an infestation of bed bugs! I have never had them but I got them there. The management told me I brought them in the apartment and would have to foot the bill. I finally figured out the source which was the piles of left behind beds and couches left by tenets as they left! Drive by any day and you will see at least 2-4 couches, beds or other eyesores. Just stay away from this place it's not worth it!!
This apartment complex has a serious roach problem. I had an exterminator come out once a week since I moved in 2 months ago and i still have roaches. The units are seriously dated and management is the worst. This is probably the worst apartment I have ever lived in in my entire life. I have only been here 2 full months and I will do whatever I can to move as soon as possible. I have never hated a place more than I hate this place. I wish there was something less than 1 star that I could give this place.
