Property Ratings at Montecito
The apartments even smell old.. air vents are NEVER cleaned, light shining through exit doors(lots of bugs in the summer), gutters NEVER cleaned, holes under sinks and filled with foam/duct tape, filth behind appliances, outdated finishings, poor lighting, creeky floors, rude office staff, poor maintenance, filthy laundry rooms, and the list goes on.
The apartments are well managed and have excellent facilities. 3 pools, 3 laundry mats, and 1 small gym. Only 2 complaints: 1) I wish the laundry rooms had more washers and dryers. 4 washers and 4 dryers aren't enough for entire section of apartments. 2) the exterior of some buildings have unsightly pipes going up the building. Overall great apartments. No deal breakers.
So many people get fooled by the prettiness of a new apartment. If you are only going to stay a year, that might be okay. If you really want a place to live, find an older property like Montecito that makes investments. The new properties tend to spend as little as possible on good quality appliances and you have nothing but problems. Montecito wants things to last and is always quick to repair and replace items as needed. They have made major renovations in the apartments both inside and outside. I have been here a long time and get more for my money than any other property in the area. There are many different floor plans. I have a big dining room and living room but smaller bathrooms and kitchen. There are options to suit everyone. It is very close to lots of shopping and Downtown as well as right next to North Hills so there is plenty to do in the area.
