Jonesboro, a small city of less than 5,000 residents, is located about 20 minutes south of downtown Atlanta. The city is filled with fantastic neighborhoods, so finding an apartment that fits your needs should be relatively simple. One of Jonesboro's top communities is the Lake Spivey area. Lake Spivey offers convenient access to major roads, and there is an 18-hole golf course, gorgeous natural lake and a quiet residential community.
Many retail centers with highly familiar stores are close to the Lake Spivey area.Clayton County International Park, located right off of Highway 138 in Jonesboro, was originally built to accommodate some of the competitions during the 1996 Olympic Games; and it was also used to film some scenes in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. The Clayton County International Park features a beach area, a six-acre lake, a 17-court tennis center, walking trails, and a pavilion for group picnics.

We urge you to give us a call or stop by our office at your convenience so that we may speak with you further on how we can improve your time here.
I've never lived this close to the expressway. Talk about convenient. Get off 75, I'm home. I work a long way from here. It's nice that after a long day. I can be home quickly without having to drive 30 minutes down Tara.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave an excellent rating. We really appreciate your residency. Please let us know what we can do for you in the future.
This is the worst apartment to live in. The leasing office agents are rude and inconsiderate. The apartment is infested with roaches, everything is breaking apart in the apt. This apartment does not meet the criteria advertised. I signed my lease in August and have had to call the maintenance guys almost every other day for issues I am having with the appliances, roaches, and walls of the apartment. Please do your research well before signing, I plan to break my lease soon. This is the worst decision I have made so far this year, I do not recommend living here at all.

As you know, you were escorted out of our office by police and issued a criminal trespass citation for threatening staff. We regret that your residency with us didn’t work out, and we wish you the best of luck going forward. -- Julie Meeks, Community Manager, 770-907-4150
SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AND LOOK ELSEWHERE! I would not recommend this apartment complex! The staff is extremely rude, especially the female that works in the office on weekends (Cora, Corey.. or something of that nature). Management is very inconsistent with their policies and line of communication. We moved into an apartment that was infested w/ roaches, had a broken clothing washer, broken a/c, water damage on the wall from a leak, a broken kitchen cabinet, a broken garbage disposal, etc. I felt as if we were putting in maintenance orders everyday. They also added a few charges to my account w/o notice. There was a rental insurance fee that they charged me monthly despite the fact I provided proof of a personal rental insurance policy. When I went to speak to them about another fee (for a pet my friend brought w/ her), I was told a pet fee is added whether the pet resides in the residence or just visits. They said “It was my problem” that I didn’t recieve the notice placed on my door or the “call” they attempted to make.. You would think something that important would warrant for an email, letter IN YOUR MAILBOX NOT ON THE DOOR, or even a voicemail. When I spoke to the manager originally, I was informed an extension would be placed for the $300 pet fee that went unannounced. The next time I spoke to her, she said she didn’t provide extensions and that I had to pay everything at once or there was nothing else they could do to help me.

I'm only giving this a 1 because I can't give it a zero. This apartment complex is so unprofessional that it is ridiculous. Submitted an application on May 24th; was told that it would take up to 72 hours to process it. After 6 business days, and continuously calling and emailing the manager Stephanie and getting no response, I decided to go up to the apartment complex and find out what exactly was going on. I get up there and my application had not been submitted at all and to make matters worse, the apartment that my administration fee was supposed to hold had been sold. On another note, I was told I was approved for an apartment but when I came back to talk to Stephanie, she denied her ever saying that I was approved. The only professional employee was Takeya. Everyone else needs to learn how to conduct business and not play with people's time and money.

Amazing staff and maintenance crew very efficient and on point. Very pleased with location and quietness of community. Two thumps up to Eddie for taking care of any issues I may have had effectively and promptly any time day or night. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Friendly and courteous neighbors when I do see them. I am very pleased with my choice to live here. Thank you so much for a clean, quiet, cozy, comfortable dwelling place. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a place to live !!!!

I toured Monterey Village last week, and after seeing a lot of other place I was immediately ready to fill out an application. I worked with Takia, and she is amazing. She walked me through the application process and I am sooo excited to move in in a few weeks. Pluses: the complex grounds are well maintained, grass cut, the breezeways are clean and free of trash, and even though the pool was not in use it was clean. The apartments are SPACIOUS, even the 1 bedrooms feel comfortable, especially the unit with the study, some apartments even come with sunrooms instead patios. Some folks complained about price for the area, but you are paying for quality and the complete package of the community and complex benefits justify the price. I have viewed other properties with similar (or more expensive) apartments that are not even close to as nice.

From the outside the complex looks great, but once you live here you'll find that there are home and car break ins. My child's bike was stolen from my patio. My car window was smashed and the management did nothing about it. .The 'gate' on this gated community is limited to an entrance gate for cars so if someone is walking they an simply come right in. The pool in the summer is poorly maintained and people from the public come in making the experience horrible (cussing, not cleaning up, white shirts and no bras etc.) The rent goes up yearly by nearly $100 IF they offer a renewal. And if you decide to go month to month temporarily after the first year be prepared to pay $300 extra per month. AND not to mention there's cockroaches, you can request pest control to come (only on Fridays) but its a bait spray so it defeats the purpose especially when you keep an immaculate house its traumatizing. Its like a used car clean on the outside but once you start driving be prepared for the headache!!

This apartment building is an amazing location for safety reasons and recreational reasons, its affordable, clean, and safe thanks to it being in a gated area. Has a prize friendly mini mart near by and accessible location to gym, pool, and tennis court. Also with a balcony and big windows which provide amazing natural lighting. its perfect for college and newly weds for a fresh start.

Thank you so much for your review and for taking the time to share your experience! We work hard at Monterey Village Apartments to meet expectations like yours and are happy to hear we hit the mark.
This is a cosmetically beautiful apartment complex. Very manicured grounds. The maintenance response is great. It is quiet here not a lot of commotion especially being in Atlanta. I like it a lot here so far. The neighbors aren't too nosey but still friendly. The pool is huge and is never over crowded. They also offer personal trainer and group classes complimentary 24 hr fitness room access. Altogether a great place for virtually everyone families as well as single people and elderly.

I have been living at Monterey Village for about 4 months, and they have made my first apartment experience a great one. They constantly keep the grounds clean and presentable, and it's gives you a great home vibe. With their the email service your always notified about what's going on in the community. The maintenance department is great. Whenever I send in a repair request they take care of the problem with a great since of urgency. All and all Monterey Village is a great place to stay, it's right off the main highway which I love for convenience for work and social outings. Rent is very decent and inside the apartments are very well kept in shape. Definitely recommend staying here!!!
