Property Ratings at Monticello Apartments
I walked up to the leasing office and see that there are empty flowerpots with weeds. The pool has dead grass in the planters, and you could see that it was poorly maintained. The landscape looks great in front, but there are dead shrubs along the walkway in back. Too bad because it is a great location.

Hello, Thank you for bringing these concerns to our attention. We apologize for the state of the flowerpots and pool area. We appreciate your feedback and want to assure you that we are committed to improving the overall appearance and maintenance of our property. If you have any additional suggestions or specific areas you would like us to focus on, please feel free to let us know.
I have lived here for years and the thing that has stuck out to me the most, is the GREAT customer service. I can always count on being greeted with a positive attitude and smile from Cari every time I walk into the office. Maintenance staff is top tier. I recently needed some repairs in my apartment and maintenance was fast to respond. Maintenance is extremely knowledgable, handy, and thorough when it comes to taking care of your home. I was impressed with their work ethic and the high standards they hold themselves up to when it comes to making sure that your taken care of. If you are looking for apartment living that has great location, cozy living, and one of a kind customer service, then Monticello is the apartment for you.

I love our apartment. it’s extremely spacious for the price point! It’s quaint & quiet. Walking around the property is always serene. AND THE PATIOS! The patios on the first floors units are large & private! Our unit also has a fireplace which is a plus! The staff is sweet & attentive and they have seasonal tenant gifts/activities! (free mini pies for thanksgiving, pumpkin decorating contest, gift wrapping station)

Just wanted to give this property a good review because my tour was very delightful with Ms. Yvonne. She was fun, energetic and didn’t mind that I had my dog with me. (That I’m sure she was afraid of it.lol) I will be leasing here in April. Also, the Location is perfect

The property and location is pleasant. This area is rather expensive and this is the best rate you may find. The tenants are okay, usually local professionals and are mostly quiet neighbors. PARKING is very limited and if you even plan to have even one guest over you may have to coordinate parking on the street far away, then let them park in your assigned spot, then escort them off the property as the exit gate needs the clicker remote too. As mentioned in other online reviews the maintenance is a sever issue, especially with the water. In 8 months, there have been 21 water shut off phases. Ranging from an afternoon to over a week. That's right, over a week with no water. In those events they allocate a unit that is working and we all use it as a community shower/toilet for people without water. The reason for extensive shut offs is that anytime a unit needs plumbing repair. The whole block needs to be shut off during repairs. The longer periods of water shut offs are a result of line breaks, or water heaters breaking. Its an old complex to that's why its a ongoing issue. Nothing against the property management or maintenance workers. I'm sure its as frustrating to deal with ongoing issues, as it is living here with issues. The pool is also in need of work. There is only one pool, and during the summer it is not very welcoming as there may be an issue with the pump or how its maintained. The city did shut down the pool summer of 2018. Some tenants still tried to get in, but mostly the summer of 2018 one spent it just poolside at least to get a tan. Laundry facilities are limited and very worn and gritty looking, and there is very old paint which probably contains lead peeling off extensively from the walls which could be a severe hazard for small children. The consistency of working machines and laundry rooms shut offs( you guessed it, for pluming repairs)vary from room to room. Maintenance requests are slow, and despite good efforts from staff. I believe its just a lot of issues at any given time. Over all, its a very charming property. but the issued stated can become stressfully overwhelming at times as you can read by frustrating tenant reviews. Hope this helps.
-We do not receive mail. The story behind this is, according to the post office, one of the old mailboxes fell onto a carrier so it’s a safety issue. Monticello has decided not to upkeep the mailboxes or update to newer mailboxes so we drive 15 minutes to get our mail. -We do not have consistent running water: About once a week / every other week, “repairs” are done. These have been without warning a few times. More recently the water has not been on overnight / in the evenings. This pattern has occurred for over 8 months. You would think issues would be fixed in this time. -Maintenance timing: maintenance workers decided 10pm to 1am was a good time to haul appliances up the stairs to the apartment above me and do construction work (hammering, saws etc). When asking the construction workers to keep it down at midnight, they continued the noise until 1. No apology from management (Jose), no follow up. -Silky mud slip after the plumbing fixes: after the disaster mess left after “fixing” plumbing, there is mud and slick surfaces from outside my door to the car port. There is no way to avoid it and I slip everyday. -giant wasp nest right outside my apartment where the wasps would swarm me and the maintenance request wasn’t answered for a month. They have been continually raising rent without fixing these issues.
