Property Ratings at Mount Vernon Apartments
I’m shocked that the reviews are so positive because my experience has been anything but. Something major must have changed because these are the issues I’ve noticed. 1. The laundry options suck. There’s one washer for a whole building (somewhere between 8-16 people). The machines are coin op and often break down while you’re in the middle of a load. 2. Some of the office staff and maintenance team can be rude and have bad energy. 3. Appliances like a/c, fridge, and dishwasher are old and outdated. Expect higher electric bills because of that. 4. Maintenance does work at awful times (7AM) even if that includes power tools, hammers, and lawn mowing. They don’t care if you work overnight, have a newborn, or even just had surgery. The office will tell you that the work has to be done so “deal with it”. 5. There’s also an issue with the free hot water. You’ll run out of hot water while taking a shower. It’s not fun to go from hot water to cold. Pick a different apartment.
Lived there 4 years between 2015-2019. Simple, easy location for travel, never had a problem, always saw a talked to front desk and maintenance. Wish I could find a similar place to where I’m living now.
What can I say about this place, it's awesome. Before I moved in, management did a full remodel of the place and it looks amazing! The management team was nothing but amazing from the time I applied, to the time I moved in. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking. You are near the 84 and tons of shopping!
These apartments are definitely on the older side and have not been renovated, but the service you get is unparalleled. An onsite maintenance team keeps everything in good shape: the landscape, the buildings, the pavement, and inside your apartment. They will fix or replace anything that breaks in about a day or even same day. Nothing to complain about.
Mount Vernon Apartments was the perfect choice for me and my boyfriend. As I was a Graduate Student at UConn Storrs, the commute was easy thanks to Mount Vernon being so close to the highway. It was also a 15-20 minute drive from shopping and restaurants in Manchester and has convenient gas stations, restaurants, and multiple supermarkets available to you within 10 minutes. While our apartment had some imperfections (chipped wood, worn cat scratches on the window sills, etc.), it had a good amount of space for us and our cats, and the appliances, shower pressure, and the like all worked fine. There is construction going on very close currently, and laundry costs $1 per machine. The staff is kind and helpful, and the people living here seem to be a mix of young couples. young families, and older singles, but the quiet environment fits anyone.
