Property Ratings at Mountainside
The Complex is overwhelmed by the noise of blowers and mowers in the early morning and throughout some days. Sometimes the cars with big bass-boomers let their presence be known as well. The tenants are basically quiet and friendly. The management is cordial, but rarely acknowledges the obvious problems, or acts on tenant complaints. The workers with the noisy blowers rarely respect the tenant's autos, and will blow debree and pebbles with little scrutiny. Maintenance service is somewhat addequate if they are pressed to do the work properly. Check out the dust-filled A/C-Heating units before you sign! Most of the grass has been replaced with dirt and cactus (not as appealing). There used to be storage areas over each parking stall, but they removed them without bothering to ask or tell why. There used to be carpeting but most has been removed. There used to be peace and tranquility, but that is rapidly dissipating. Management dictates entery into tenant's apartments without permission, much too often per year. Management uses threats in their leasing, and late pay documents, at every turn. This is overly stressful, and edging on abusive. Especially when they make many of the mistakes. Overall this is not as happy a living environment as it could, or should be, but the apartments themselves are still fairly nice, even with little to no carpeting. And the close proximity to Stores, Markets, Walking-Paths, and Parks is a plus.
This is a very large, well-maintained apartment community. The grounds are clean and the staff is generally responsive and accommodating. Although gated for car entry, this is an "open complex". On the downside, there are several unit "inspections" throughout the year, which may frustrate your right to "quiet possession" of your apartment. Finally, the washers are expensive and have very small load capacity. Would give the complex a higher rating if only the washers and dryers were larger and cleaned in a less superficial and suspect way. Needless to say, laundry room sanitation is an issue in a large complex like this. Overall, this is a quiet and pleasant place to live; however, you may prefer to do your laundry off-site.
Yes the apartments look nice. But don't just come around during the day for 10 mins or so to see how things are. And bring someone with you. Talk to residents over a couple of weekends/days. Read reviews on other sites than this one.
I went to look at this location because of the promixity to surrounding venues. I was impressed with the staff, the complex was nice and quiet for the time of day that I visited.
We visited the location and notice how quiet the location is.
