Property Ratings at Mt. Vernon Apartments
Returned to my apartment after 4 days out of town for Memorial weekend. Noted hole in ceiling with peeling plaster and water stain along wall and damage to my personal carpeting and exercise machine along with the floor. This is the exact same location where the ceiling collapsed previously and was supposedly fixed. Had previously placed multiple work orders related to the same. Day after work order, received notice work order completed and upon inspection, hole and peeling plaster still present. Management insists on not compensating for damage despite known recurrent issue which was not fixed. This is on top of raising the rent by over 30% since moved into apartment.
Maintenance issues are not addressed until you keep calling daily to have them taken care of. Staff does not get back to you and have a short tempered when talking to residents. Staff does not return calls and when you do talk to the staff, they cannot sympathize with residents when it comes to issues that residents were not made aware of and can affect their daily route such as power outage. My bathroom has had issues such as the sink having rust, paint on the sink falling off and floor is so soft, thinking is mildew for months. Send photos and keep calling but nothing gets addressed.
My husband and I are newly weds (6/20/15) and were looking for a safe, comfortable, and affordable place. We found it and cannot be happier! Our apt. manager is awesome!
My wife and I were starting a life together and needed a place to call home that we can afford and feel happy about. We are going on to month 3 and are happy as can be. Maintained and afforable
Assigned parking space, but street parking is AWFUL, so be aware if you have more than one car. Kid friendly but there are many kids that live here and they play outside often and are not quiet. Vertical blinds in all rooms and not much lighting provided. The only ceiling fan is in the dinning room, you have to provide lights for the living room and all bedrooms. The water in the shower constantly fluctuates between hot and cold so showering is not always pleasant. Overall it's not a horrible place to live if you can get past the little things.
I love this place. I only wish I had a balcony or a patio.
