A major suburb of Austin, Cedar Park gets you right into the area without having to live in the big city. If you like peace and quiet but don't want to live all the way out in the woods, then Cedar Park is the place to be. It's nice living so close to one of the biggest music cities in America, but you don't even need to leave Cedar Park to take in a great concert. If you want entertainment, check out the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park. The center plays host to everything from monster truck shows to country and hip hop concerts. Cedar Park is only about 16 miles from Downtown Austin, making this an ideal location for commuters. Cedar Park is considered one of the fastest-growing cities in the country.
Cedar Park's claim to fame (besides the H-E-B Center) is the Heritage Oak Tree, a 400-year-old live oak that stands 57 feet tall and is 80 feet around. This massive tree is decorated during the holiday season with over 30,000 lights.

Property Ratings at Muir Lake
This place use to be luxury…. The new property management is terrible. There has been air bnbs ran here, random rowdy people using our pool and amenities causing our pool to be shut down for cleaning. We have been here 3 years and there use to be so much parking. Now you can hardly find a place. No more on call security, maintenance just enters your apartment without notice! They now charge a building protection fee even if you have insurance. Be aware of all the fees…it’s about $65 JUST for garbage that are always overflowing with junk. I’ve seen people sleeping in there cars parked here, homeless walk through more often. Since security doesn’t drive through and the prop management no longer makes you register your vehicles people just park there vehicles in here. Unfortunately I would not recommend this complex it has really gone down hill. Not to mention the maintenance guy parks his cart and just hangs out on his phone or in his apartment. They seem to just be renting to anyone now, very trashy people have moved in. The only thing I can say is the office staff is very nice. It’s not there fault that the prop management is a joke. Also, the gym dumbells were stolen over a year ago, still never replaced. For the price of these places you would expect more. Sad to see this place go down hill so much.
Had a horrible experience with the management. I had 23 maintenance requests in 12 months. Nightmare moving and moving out. Please don't fall for the false promises. Leasing manager changes every year. Read the Extra Add-on changes document on Valet and Trash management.
If you are in search of your next home. I wouldn’t recommend this community. The initial interaction is orchestrated. If you decide to tour this property use a close eye and your better judgement. The amenities seem to be a win and bonus to the community but it in all reality isn’t. The gym is never cleaned and is filled with cobwebs and dog hair. A spider dropped on my forehead from the ceiling while working out one evening. There isn’t a water fountain in or near the gym. There isn’t any WiFi for the gym area and the one for the pool isn’t reliable; it doesn’t extend to the gym. Some residents are lazy and allow their pets to poop on the walkways or rocks instead of going to designated area. Maintainance doesn’t tour the property to discover ??. The unit that is rented to me was said to have been remodeled. It wasn’t, they basically cleaned it up to be more decent than what the least tenant left it to be. The unit is infested with roaches and all management does is call pest control to spray weekly. 0 resolution. I’ve raise 5 children and lived many places and have NEVER dealt with roaches. The staff have 0 follower through, lack professionalism and fail to properly communicate. All my maintenance requests state that I do not give permission to access my unit if I’m unavailable. In 12/14 they enters my unit with no permission and no communication. If I could rate them a zero, I would.
Be cautious of high criminal activity in these apartments. My catalytic converter and co2 sensor was stolen from my car because our back gate is broken for 3 weeks now and has not been fixed yet because the property is on a “bidding war” with contractors. So they have not even identified a repair company in 3 weeks!!!! This ownership and property prioritizes revenue and the bottom line over the safety and comfort of it’s tenants. Not worth the hassles.
place is not safe!! dug dealers on property (clearly that's what they're doing) management doesn't seem to care
Apartments is good quality, but they are overpriced! management never helps you! they turn this apartments to comercial side! once here was more than 100 people who rented office building, using our pool and amenities. apartment also was not secure, gates always open, and everybody who wants walk on apartments area and use pool zone! Manegment really slow response and in 90% their answer will not satisfy you! But anyway main thing, that this place not safe to live! Pest control never works, snakes bugs and all what they say thats lie to you!!!
Worst management I have come across ever. he leasing manager and staff at Muir Lake treated us HORRIBLY. We never got any confirmation for our move-in. Nobody on their team is worth talking to and they will make false promises. They NEVER respond on time. No professionalism, accountability, WORST customer service. They apartment wasn't ready on our move-in date and they asked us to compromise and called the apartment livable. Broken tap, washer and dryer space door was jammed and fungus like residue in the oven, A HEALTH HAZARD! And they called us liars when we complained. They did not let us move-in the apartment when we were right and they knew that we have evidence to prove them wrong. They did not let us in the apartment for which they charged a lot for breaking the lease ! We NEVER moved-in ! Refused to talk, take in any service requests. 24/7 maintenance is a lie. WORST people to deal with. I wonder if they are even qualified or have skills to do their jobs! What type of management is this where customer service isn't a priority? I will not recommend this place to anybody. Save yourself and go to other properties which give much much better service and is worth your money.
I cannot stress enough how much this place has gone downhill since the new crappy company took over. They are the worst at communicating to tenants. The entire team does not have the tenants best interest in mind. It's truly a pity because I used to love this place. It's been disappointment after disappointment ever since they took over. The lake view isn't reason enough to move here. Look into the new apartments being built across the street, if you want to be near Muir Lake Park.
*AVOID* I have lived at Muir Lake off and on for the last 3 years and I have seen 3 owners of the property. The current owners (Regency) are the absolute worst. I went without hot water for 3 days (after asking them to fix it) and I went into the office on my first day off (Saturday) and the office woman told me that there is no maintenance (or emergency services) on the weekends Sat/Sun. No matter how many trees decorate these apartments, it can't make up for the fact the office only cares about getting you to sign a lease and after that they provide no services. They won't even bring me light bulbs. These apartments are not 'luxury', they are not worth the price they charge and they are not even livable! Why is there no emergency maintenance crew on weekends, and if there is, why didn't your office woman tell me about it?
Disappointed with how much has drastically changed since the change in owner and management. Maintenance and management do not respond to requests. For how much tenants are paying in rent to complete lack of response in basic requests is inexcusable.
Muir lake was an outstanding property, spa like amenities. Enjoyed the time while it lasted here! New management took over May/June 2021 and have immediately price increased all units $600-$700. The amenities are never available the spa has black mold growing in it. The steam room has black mold currently growing in it. Units have mold currently growing in them. Don’t expect to get anything done when asked, expect an attitude as well when asking. These luxury apartments have been ran into the ground and literally a couple of months. Don’t waste your money you can find equivalent closer to Austin for 500 less. The new property management company doesn’t even have a management headquarters in Austin, which means not much to be advised by clearly. Pam and Daniela will spit some attitude right at you ! Get ready , and i hope your experience ends better than ours.
I've lived here nearly a year now and despite COVID keeping us from being able to use the amenities I was really looking forward to using when I moved in (pool, sauna, gym, etc.), the staff is really responsive and friendly, maintenance gets things done quickly, the complex has an open, cabin-type feel to it which makes it feel less like a complex where you walk through hallways and such, and it feels really safe which was a big deal to me as a young woman living alone. It is a tad on the pricey side, however you do get what you pay for so that's to be expected I guess. Would recommend to a friend, as it was to me!
Property Manager at Muir Lake, Responded To This Review
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We value feedback as we’re always looking for ways to improve the living experience of all our residents. With all the COVID-19 related changes our community has had to adapt to, our team is very appreciative to know our efforts are appreciated. Please let us know if there is anything you need from our team. Have a great day!
Was in love with this place when I moved in 2.5 years ago, but has really gone downhill lately. Lots of changeover in management, 4 since I've been here. Hmmm wonder why. We had a seat situation hete and NOBODY Informed the tenants as to what happened or how to safe after the tenant broke into the attic of another apartment (& he had a gun)! Things are breaking down or just plain stolen, no printer keyboard in computer room, other keyboard doesn't even work. Sauna has been broken 8 months, and mostly, no security on call at all. Tenant pipes have broken to flood lower apartments. The great old handyman have left...I believe out of total frustration. Told me when flooding happened multiple times that corners were cut with cheap pipes. They bank on the view covering for uncaring new management who will ignore any and all noise complaints. Just really hope they get it together. The prices are ridiculous for dirty broken down amenities, and unresponsive management.
Management and Leasing office lie about what your getting. We've had several problems living here so far; Promised 1st month free rent, then taking it away and taking our deposits away to pay for it, and then saying we still owe $700...bugs are horrible, side walls I can hear nothing which is awesome, but can hear everything the upstairs neighbors do!!! even though I was promised you can't hear a single thing from upstairs due to their amazing insulation and building materials...lies Our cars have been vandalized, center cap stolen off my expensive rims. Spit wads on my windows and mirrors, gates being left open for several days/nights without being fixed. The location of this place is awesome, the amenities are great, but is all this hassle worth it?? I moved in here for relaxation and ease of mind but have had nothing but problems. I have turned away so many friends from moving in here because management is doing absolutely nothing to help us. Hopefully this helps you not choose this place, at least until management gets an overhaul and they find their ethics again.
I have lived at Muir Lake for a year. It is built to condo specs, so it is very quiet. Very natural setting, natural building materials, quiet, respectful neighbors, and of course, is on a lake. There is a steam room, Jacuzzi, and a sauna. The staff and maintenance team are top notch. I have not a single complaint!
These are gorgeous new apartments, and the people that run them are great. The only trade off you get in these apartments? The nature doesn't always stay outside. The gorgeous kitchens are great -- but occasionally filled with fire ants or the occasional four inch long centipede. We've stopped killing the spiders in hopes they will save us from the other creepies (and I hate spiders). The huge balconies are gorgeous! But again, nature wins them over too. The majority of the time it's nice enough to sit on them -- the wasps run the balconies. But as long as you are friends with nature and can afford the price -- they're gorgeous!
The community is great, and the amenities are fantastic. The management staff, however, seems more concerned with selling any open units rather than fostering any feel of community with the residents they have. There has been a lot of management turnover though, so it may have something to do with it. The area it is in is great. Cedar Park is quickly becoming a booming area with lots going on. Overall, I'm certainly glad I signed, and am planning to spend a good amount of time here.
I love Muir Lakes Apts. First time I have ever lived in one and I am 59! Beautiful amenities....lake, woods, pool, wildlife! Cant imagine a better place to live in Cedar Park, Texas! The office staff is very nice and maintenance takes care of everything quick! In 10 months I have only needed the one time.
Best staff encountered. They go out of their way to ensure all the perks of luxury living is fulfilled. Had several issues with garage and never worried about it being resolved quickly. Lived in the 1AD floorplan and enjoyed all the finishing touches. Having to move to a different area and not looking forward to any other type of management that Muir Lake spoiled me with.
