Property Ratings at Mulberry Park
When we originally moved in, Mulberry had a great manager. He was helpful, friendly, and was genuinely interested in making sure everyone was comfortable and happy. As soon as he left, the whole place went down hill. First off, these apartments are NOT well taken care of. The cabinets had so many coats of paint on them that they were sticky. I found my stove would turn brown like it was burnt, but I could never wash it off. Come to realize, that they had literally painted the stove to cover up the damages beneath. The walls are paper thin, and the showers weren't installed properly so they are so loud you can hear them throughout your whole house, and your neighbors too. The kids are lawless, peering into windows, turning off main breaker switches, stealing and damaging property, and nothing is ever done. There was a drive by at one of the buildings the other day, and cops are there on a regular basis. The management is a joke. She takes weeks, if not months to respond to any requests. The only time I have ever had maintenance come on a decent time is if I spoke directly to the maintenance man, or if I spoke to someone covering for her on a day off. It took an entire month and a half to get my oven fixed, and even then, it wasn't until I spoke to someone on the weekend maintenance line that they came and told us there was an exposed wire that had been sparking. Aftering my lease, she said she would make copies and deliver. After months of requesting said copy, my husband finally had to stand and wait for her to do it while he was there. When we turned in our 60 day notice, she lost it. Then she straight up told us "I should really file these things when I get them so this doesn't happen." You think? Also, count on paying at least $150-$180 in extra fees each month. They don't tell you about it when you sign the lease, but she waters the lawns so much that the ground squelches beneath your feet. And that is all on the residents water bill. I know my neighbors have filed several complaints about it and still, at the end of October, the sprinklers were on. If it's any indication, my entire building is moving within a few months of each other, and everyone in it agrees it is because of the lousy management and ridiculous rent and fees. You could rent a 5 bedroom house in a much better area for less. Unless they get a new manager, and do some serious rethinking of their prices, move literally anywhere else.
I originally moved here with some friends and short of having my bike stolen from the back yard I don't really have a problem with the apartments, we have good neighbors, its quite and maintenance is quick to respond if there's ever a problem, however me and the roommates are now going our separate ways, and i need to find a place closer to work so I must look elsewhere now
