Property Ratings at Music City Flats
Place is horrible maintenance request are only completed by Brown. The manager is trash the leasing agent Chynese is a big liar. There is gang activity at this property everyone complains of bugs and work orders not being completed. The buildings leak after I posted a review and pic of the pool they decided to drain the water and make it look as if they were repairing it but it’s been 2 weeks and there are no renovations. 3 weeks ago I posted a review about the light out in the hallway and the light is still out the hallways smell like dog urine. Cars are being stolen on property. Do not recommend this property to my worst enemy. Chynese always talking bout how she helped someone move in and they move or after they don’t pay their rent who wants to live in a place that is not safe or sanitized. She will get you in by any means necessary that’s because they can’t get anyone to move in there if they do they don’t stay long. Glad I was able to get something better
The 2 leasing agents and Brown from maintenance are the best they look out for the residents to make sure everything is good. However the manager knows nothing but when she all in her mood and done went out and smoked bout 15 cigarettes in 10 minutes she wants to not pick because Brown has to go behind the other maintenance guy. Brown needs help he is a one man team but he gets the job done
1. The pool is barely open, and when it is, it's dirty. I got an infection from swimming in it. 2. We had a cockroach problem the whole time. Spraying would only help for a few days. We had an ant problem from the bath, and that went away after spraying. 3. Staff goes home whenever they please. This only inconvenienced me one time when I needed to refill my laundry card and the office was closed an hour and a half early. 4. They rarely answer calls. My husband tried five different numbers until he found one they would answer. 5. The people in the office don't know the policies. 6. The air conditioning units are really loud. 7. The gym is small, and if you want to play music or the TV loud, you disturb people upstairs. Sometimes they close the gym without warning. 8. You do not get your security deposit of $100 back. They charge $24 for new drip pans, $50 for touching up paint, $50 for carpet cleaning, and $80 for full cleaning. They then take the $100 out of that $204, and you pay $104. Unless you break the lease. Then it's much more hassle (and you have to email the supervisor of the property manager). Get the place professionally cleaned and give them the receipt. See if that works.
Expensive place to live, lound neighbours, plenty of bugs and cockroaches, mold on the walls, smelly hallways. Their website for payments is confusing so it's a huge chance they will charge you extra the first month there. Also if you want to break the lease early they charge a full extra month and also at least 300 dollars extra for ... for cleaning!? Even though the place was left spotless! Their gym is a joke, their pool is mostly dirty and also the swimming season for them it's probably for 2 months or less! Customer service sucks too, they never tell anything, you always have to insist for information. Anyways... don't necessarily take my word for it ... Go there and see for yourself or do yourself a favour and avoid this place!
I moved in because they have a pretty good rate and I can get into town quickly without using the interstate. Unfortunately, they don't really keep their apartments up very well and there are aspects of my unit that seem outdated.
At the moment I write this, this complex is under heavy renovation. That does mean that units will have problems, and it will be time from whence reported, to whence completed. However, So far, all issues are fixed. I made a post before they fixed the issues so I'm rewriting it now. In that post I was frustrated since I had no notice of the time frame of completion. I think this issue was based on a lack of communication between the managers and the contractors. The contractors ran behind schedule and the maintenance for some reason was occupied. First, the cons: The building is old and the floorboard creak like I've never heard before. It's possible the creaking will go away, but it has died down some, seemingly. The place doesn't seem energy efficient as I talked with the electric company, but I don't have any historical data of my own. Expect problems with electric sockets, since a lot of the old sockets weren't replaced. Expect to clean the apartment since the floors are covered in dust and debris from construction. For now, there is construction noise. Speaking of noise, these place doesn't feel private. I don't fully trust the blinds given to me since they don't fit properly, and that means they won't freely fall into place, and close off any gaps. It's easy to hear everything in the halls. It seems some rushing on finishing the apartment has left some things poorly done. Pros: Freshly renovated means everything is new: fixtures, carpet, linoleum, tiling, sinks, fans, and so on. The place is rather cozy and comfortable, and quite quaint. The layout is spacious and it's a good deal for the price. There's plenty of room for storage such as closets and a pantry. While this place does make me feel my privacy isn't so great, I don't think I've been able to hear the neighbors so much, which does show that maybe privacy is OK. My unit is fairly quite in that I don't hear traffic, but I don't know if that's typical. Neutral: Not cable ready: expect to order the service to get the wiring installed from Comcast, or whatever service you order. There's no RJ12 jacks (ye olde telephone land line), but who cares? Overall, pretty good for the price.
This complex is going through renovations at the moment, but the apartments that are finished, which we live in, are very nice. The complex still has a lot to do in the way of common area maintenance however. The cement stairs in the back of our building are falling apart and quite dangerous as they overlook quite a large hill. The swimming pool is not maintained often either. I do fully believe that when the complex is finished being renovated, this will be a prime location!
