Property Ratings at Musical String House
I’ve been here for almost 3 years, the apartments themselves can have a nice amount of room, high ceilings with 2 floor apartments. The superintendent Kavin is amazing, he practically keeps the building going all by himself maintaining the building, taking care of waste disposal, showing apartments even shoveling most of the large (free)parking himself, he is the face and heart of the building. The owners do not seem to assist in anyway other than collecting the checks.
Kavin is a fantastic landlord- very kind, always available, accessible and goes above and beyond his job - the property grounds are well maintained but unfortunately there are common areas inside that require improvement including changing the carpets and addressing pests (including crickets in the stairwell, etc). For a property that's this new, you would expect more from management
If I could post pictures on this website I would. I have mold growing out of my a/c vent and on to the wall. I’ve reached out to mgmt and they have done ZERO. They told me it was cooking grease I had a mold kit done it came back positive. I provided proof and now they are just ignoring me. DO NOT RENT HERE. I’ve been staying in a hotel since the results came back positive.
The people who live next door play their music extremely loud late into the night. We’re talking atrocious bass and percussion through 2:30 a.m. It’s willful inconsideration at this point. The garbage chute backs up on a fairly regular basis. There’s been cricket and bug infestations. Apartment itself is nice.
I moved into these apartments in 2017 and just recently moved out after two years. The building itself was beautiful and unique and my one-bedroom was perfect for a young person getting on his feet after grad school. Great appliances, nice floors, beautiful windows. The superintendent was so helpful and quick to respond. The administrative staff was very attentive. Definitely worth looking into if you want a nicer, affordable apartment in New Brunswick near pretty much anything you might need.
I lived here for a year and only moved out because it was too small for me and my daughter (we had a one bedroom). The apartment was beautiful and clean. Never saw even a single fruit fly indoors. All the appliances work great, the floors don't creek, and you get to toss your trash down a chute. Could only rarely hear my neighbors, so the walls are nice and thick as well. Apartments get an incredible amount of natural light and you can see the sunset. Utility bills were very low. Kavin is the sweetest, most helpful building super you will ever have. I had an issue with my boiler where it would shut off and stop working. Before they were able to get people to come in and fix it permanently, I would simply text Kavin that it had stopped working again and he would come by and do a temporary fix for me immediately, every time. He lives in the building so he is always available. He even once knocked on my door to let me know I had left my keys in the door knob (because I'm a dummy). The only con I can think of is that the neighborhood isn't that nice, but that wasn't an issue for me. Really nice place to live all around.
The apartment is absolutely beautiful and looks exactly like the pictures. The grounds are well maintained, neighbors are polite and the premises feel safe. Kavin is a fantastic landlord and I honestly cannot begin to explain how kind he has been to me as a tenant- he really goes above and beyond and anytime there is a question I have or assistance I need, he has literally come to door to be of assistance. To the reviewer above, I am sorry for your experience and hoping that does not happen to you again - it seems like there was miscommunication on many levels (Kavin not only helps with maintaining inside the building but also outside so sometimes he is pulled in many directions resulting in the communication breakdown ) . I would give it another chance.
I was initially very excited to find this apartment here on apartments.com. The apartments look beautiful from the pictures and it is all brand new. I made an appointment to check it out in person, and this is where the disappointment began. I am not from the area so I drove over an hour and a half to look at the apartment complex. When I arrived there was no one there to greet me and show me the apartment. I then called the number posted in the window of what looks like will eventually be the leasing office. I made many calls, and left messages yet got no answer. Called the other number posted in the window and was connected with the office manager who blamed this mistake on the secretary (she did not make a mistake, all she did was send me an email confirmation of my appointment). We left the complex about 20 minutes of waiting because we were very frustrated and it did not seem like anyone was going to show up. 45 minutes after my appointment time I received a call from the landlord/building manager(Kevin) saying that he did not receive any of my calls(how did he get my number to call me back if he didn't get my call?) and that he lives in the building and is ready to show me the apartment. I explained that we left because were very unhappy. We didn't think we needed to wait 45 minutes after our appointment time. Instead of apologizing, he blamed me for the situation. I don't understand how this could have been my fault. If he knew there was an appointment at a certain time, he should have been expecting a call or be waiting in the lobby. Unfortunately, I am only giving this apartment complex 1 star because I would be very concerned about potential miscommunications that may occur while Kevin is your landlord. The situation could have been handled in a professional and polite way, but it was not. I usualy do not take the time to right reviews, but this pushed me to the point where I felt it necessary to inform others of this negative experience.
