If you live anywhere near the state of Alabama, you're probably already aware of what you'll find in Tuscaloosa: the University of Alabama (Roll, Tide!). As the oldest and largest university in the state, UA was founded in 1820. It is a top-ranking public research university and it has one of the winningest college football programs in US history. The Crimson Tide football team is part of the NCAA Division I SEC and has a total of 16 national championship titles.
And while there's more to living in Tuscaloosa than cheering on the home team at the Bryant-Denny Stadium, you'll probably want to pack your crimson and white. As a college town, Tuscaloosa has its fair share of off-campus housing and apartment communities, but you'll find there's plenty more to this dynamic city. Tuscaloosa is located along the Black Warrior River roughly 56 miles southwest of Downtown Birmingham. Tuscaloosa offers a variety of museums, theaters, shops, and restaurants to explore.

Property Ratings at My House on 13th
I moved to My House on 13th because of the amenities. As of right now I receive not even half of what I am paying for. In our rent we pay for valet trash, a pool, gym, gated parking, furnishings, and utilities (or up to a base level). The valet trash system is horrible it allows you to throw away a single bag at a very specific time. The pool opened up a month and a half in which they claimed was because of covid but it obviously was still being built. Once it was done it all of the sudden was open with guidelines. Our gated parking simply doesn’t exist. The gym still is not open because they did not order equipment in time. The furniture is similar to what you find in a fraternity house. The utilities prices have actually been okay besides that we lose internet every other day. That isn’t good when everything is online. I expressed my concerns to the leasing office and listed what I was not getting but paying for. They responded with a quote from the lease saying that they could close amenities when they needed to for no rent change. The amenities weren’t being closed because they never existed. The place that I considered instead of MH13 only had a pool but was half the price. If I had known that I would be over paying for things I’m not receiving I would have never moved here. Overall I would never live here again. For the same price you can live at much nicer places in much better locations. The company that owns MH13th has a couple complexes in Tuscalosoa and I have heard many similar stories to mine. I’d suggest steering clear unless you are okay with overpaying for things your are not going to get.
