Dogs are constantly barking. Dog mess is left all over the property yard and you have to pay for trash valet service in your rent, but it hardly gets picked up. The place doesn’t seem to be regularly cleaned in general.

Please reach out directly to the manager at nav850mgr@greystar.com with what building/where you are having the problems with the dogs and we would be happy to rectify them for you. Scheduled weekly cleanings for the buildings occur every Tuesday. Valet trash is controlled by a third party but we do have customer service numbers and representatives we can reach out to if your trash is not being collected as it should be. Please don't hesitate to reach out! We can't help if we don't know where the issues are happening. We look forward to assisting you!

I’m a new resident and love the look and feel of Nav850. The leasing staff, Tara and Joshua, are an asset! There are some issues with an older development, but they are attentive and communicative about the upgrades and fixes. I love my new little apartment and look forward to enjoying the amenities.

I’ve lived here for four years. Thing were fine until year 3. There is mice in the complex and my ac unit has gone out. You call the leasing office and they just keep saying we’re new here but still expect rent on time. There is not since of urgency to the residents issues and no communication on when they’ve entered you apartment and or what was done.

I’ve lived at Nav 850 for 6 months. I love the location, the grounds and the apartment. My apartment is comfortable and has been well maintained. I called yesterday as my disposal was acting up. By the time I got home from work I had a new disposal and the light over my stove had been replaced. The maintenance staff is outstanding and friendly. The grounds are manicured every Wednesday and buildings are cleaned weekly. The office staff is friendly and helpful. I recommend Nav 850!

Serious bug problems. Management is indescribably rude . It takes forever for trouble calls to get answered . Why am I paying all this money to be living with bugs !?
To begin with the so called manager have no idea how to be a manager… they have poor customer service. They hired a bunch of maintenance people that dont do anything be ride around the parking lots all day… they go into your apartment without letting you know or leaving a note.. they never come to fix your stuff.. they over charge you for things all the time. Leaks and mold everywhere. They have a bug problem… you pay for people to come spray every month and they dont come … the club house is only able to be used when the office is open. The building are not kept clean .. all the doors on building six are broken… you can only get in from the front.. the elevator is always broken.. etc dont waste your money here !!
During a recent interaction with leasing office. I was unfairly charged fees. Property management failed to communicate effectively which, resulted in additional fees placed on tenant.
They never scrub the floors only mop over the dirt that is there.dog pee and poop in elevator weekly. They never respond to maintenance requests with urgency. Most of the time it takes months. I haven’t had closet doors since my move in. Leaks all over the building not being addressed. Elevators constantly going down. Office managers seem to have no knowledge of issues despite myself and other residents calling daily sometimes multiple times a day. Terrible roach and Kant problems and I’ve heard stories from all different tenants. They seem to only maintain one side of the property. The Beacon303 is severely neglected.

The apartment complex is undergoing a renovation with great community amenities; however, the function of the apartments are horrible! Maintenance does not complete jobs, use old and broken equipment when replacing items, and respond slowly.

1. we were shown model apartment that looked completely different from the one we live in. 2. we’ve live here since Sep 2019 and just last month is when we received consistent hot water 3.the bugs are outrageous 4.mold is forming on our air vents and bugs are coming from the same vents, how fun! 5. We paid 160 in late fees we didn’t owe 6.our car was towed due to lack of information regarding the parking policy 7.just don’t do it!!!!

I have been a resident here since August of 2018 and I have yet to take a decent shower or be able to shave because of the water pressure. I have addressed the issue multiple times with the front office and no action has been taken. Also, the internet provided by the apartment is lousy .
Maintenance appears incapable of actually fixing anything. Our apartment had two separate leaks, one of which went unaddressed by maintenance for over 3 months while we continually notified the management that their apartment was suffering water damage. After three months of filing online requests, visiting the office in person, and contacting corporate, the leak was "fixed", only to start up again a few weeks later. We were told at the time by corporate that the team was short-staffed, because both the community director and maintenance director had quit abruptly with no notice. Second leak has been ongoing for 2 weeks now and is causing substantial damage to our carpet, our belongings, and is causing mold to grow which is making us physically ill. Again, maintenance, the front office, and the corporate office were notified. 1 week no response at all, 2nd week they send a water extraction company to remove the water, but still haven't fixed the underlying leak. Its almost astonishing the casual disregard the management has for their own property and tenants. The front office at the Myrtles is rude and incompetent, the corporate office (in North Carolina) is nicer and slightly more competent. But competence here is relative, because it took them three months to fix an AC leak and they still haven't fixed an ongoing leak that has damaged tenant's property, carpet, and led to a mold issue that is physically harming tenants. Never complained about an apartment complex before, but this is by far the worst I've ever been in. Avoid if you value your property, your health, the health of your pets, and your sanity.

The staff is constantly changing so you dont get a consistent answer to your questions/disputes. The online payment system is faulty so we've received late fees for their system mistakes. If you don't want to pay online the only other option is cashiers check so every month is a hassle just trying to pay rent. The pool opening has been delayed for 2 months because they were procrastinating service for it but claim it was the contracted pool company's fault. If you are not a pet friendly person this place isn't for you because there are a lot of pet owners. Thin walls, can hear the neighbors often. Any maintenance calls are not taken seriously and are not fixed quickly. I saw another review about security team being friendly... There is no security team here so that was probably a management review fluffing itself.

We were looking to live here. Intern at NAVHOSP so we THOUGHT good choice. I asked others at the hospital about it. Majority said save your $. Myrtles 1 looks nice ALERT RUN!!!! 1. Manager looks in your eyes, smiles as her lies fall out of her mouth. 2. Get a fan because maintenance has no idea how to repair an AC. 3. Rain pours in the windows. The tenant said the mgr comes up, blows her off. Moving out. 4. Security don't come when called. 5. Limited parking. 6. Gym equipment stays broken. 7. Renting club house is a joke as tenants show up.
I will keep it simple - go some other place. I knew I wanted to move closer to work (Naval Medical Center Portsmouth) and ran out of time looking for what I wanted in an apt. something clean & safe.. I have lived here for a year and a half - what a mistake! Neighbors are very loud, some leave trash in the hallways, others let dogs urinate in elevators, carpeted hallways...Apt Management does nothing.
I lived here 3 years and had no complaints, Its everything you want in a apartment in a good location in old town, your minutes away from downtown Norfolk and near the water. I have only the best things to say about this apartment, its certainly worth a look.
This was a great first apartment. They're fairly new, well-kept, spacious, and have new appliances. Cable and internet is included, which is nice. They have two locations, and you can use the pool and gym of either, no matter which you live in. Security and office staff are very friendly. Pet fees are a tad expensive though.
