From its colorful murals to its fantastic river views, Downtown Vancouver stands out as a fun-filled, trendy neighborhood directly across the Columbia River from Portland. The heart of downtown, Esther Short Park, is the Northwest’s oldest park, established in 1853. Like the rest of Downtown Vancouver, this isn’t your typical park – it includes an interactive fountain, a rose garden, and the Salmon Run Bell Tower. The park is the location of a variety of city festivals and events, including the Vancouver Farmers Market and the Vancouver Brewfest.
Explore Vancouver’s frontier past at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site and at the Clark County Historical Museum. Downtown Vancouver offers a variety of shops and restaurants along the very walkable Main Street, including local favorites like Thai Orchid, Brickhouse Bar, and Compass Coffee. Catch a movie at the art deco Kiggins Theatre, first built in 1936, or see a live performance at the Magenta Theater.

Property Ratings at Navalia
I was forced to terminate my lease due to unforseen circumstances. Due to this being an early lease termination, I was required to return the entirety of my promotional discounts and an early lease termination fee. This amounted to a little over $5500 plus a $500 deposit because I forgot a few items in my unit. Because I could not come up with $5500 in 60 days, even though I paid $1500 and discussed making another payment for $1000+ approximately one month later, they told me I would need to either pay the $4000 balance immediately or I would be sent to collections. The units are placed about 25% over market value which is why 50% of the units are vacant, and it is only the 2,3,4+ month free rent that makes living here in any way logical. Beware these promotions if you suspect you may have to terminate your lease.

I had rented from Navalia Apartments, and when I signed the lease, it was a 12 month lease. I had not intended on moving out when signing it, but unfortunately, life happened where I no longer had funds to pay them rent, due to losing my job and being unable to find another one in time. The contract, in no way, had ANY concessions that were mandatory, other than paying "two months' rent" before I left if I had to break the lease. They had a whole addendum on a separate page with was VERY vague, didn't use specific language, and wasn't clear at all. It basically meant that they could do whatever the heck they wanted to do to me if I had to move out. They could charge me whatever they wanted, due to how vague the addendum was. I had asked the manager what I needed to do in order to move out and my parents had asked her the same question months before I actually moved out. The answer was the same each time we asked: "you only need to pay the 2 months rent". And even that was a huge stretch. We had to take out a loan to even pay the two months, which was fine. That was in the contract and it was clear. And we paid them the two months rent. I got zero amount of my $500 safety deposit I had paid them the first month before moving in. But again, I didn't mind, knowing it must be for cleaning and stuff of the like, even though I had zero money in my bank account. Then, when I left, management reached out, through a text, that there had been a mistake and I owed more money. and that would add up to more than $1000. It was due to the one month free special I had when I moved in. That had been nowhere on my lease. Management never told me or my parents when they had asked if the two months payment was all they needed. To say the least, I still get a hefty bill from them, and I believe it is shameful and rude to suck money out of someone who is moving due to financial problems and where the contract had no say in it and the management NEVER told me OR my parents when asked. There was way too much miscommunication, and they suck as much money out of you as they can, due to the addendum being very vague.

We truly aim to take care of our residents and are sorry we missed the mark. We would like to invite you to reach out to a member of our team to discuss your questions regarding the move-out charges. We would love the opportunity to try to help resolve your concerns, as well as provide an explanation behind the charges.
Recently moved in mid January. Elizabeth took time to show me all floor plans in my budget and needs. The application process was very easy and done quickly. David the lease agent is also a hospitable asset to the team and has been helpful answering my questions. From a resident with background in this property management industry (not an AMC employee). My experience has been five star since the day I moved in.
