Nemoke Trails

These pictures make me laugh. I have lived there for 2.5 years out of necessity. I don’t know which units they are portraying in these photos, but this is NOT what the units look like. Most of them have old, damaged cabinets, old appliances-maybe not even matching each other at all-, cheap peel and stick tiles in the kitchen and bathroom, textured walls painted with flat paint, cheap lighting fixtures that don’t match. Carpet should have been changed in my unit as it’s not installed correctly and the padding has bumps and dips because it’s broken down. Their maintenance is mediocre and in my experience has to be redone about 50% of the time, and their grounds are minimally maintained. Even their common areas and laundry spaces are dirty and only get “cleaned” every 6 weeks. The only reason I’m here is because I sold my house so fast I needed somewhere quick in the area and I have large dogs that other places wouldn’t take.

If you have any caged exotic animals, such as amphibians or reptiles, look elsewhere. Because apparently this location is more than happy to let cats and dogs tear up their units, but doesn't want you to bring in what is essentially expensive furniture. Disappointed but not surprised.

0/10. Would not recommend. Management has gone to crap and the other residents are awful, some of the most snotty people I’ve met. It worked for me at the time but I’m so glad I’m not staying here. Only good thing is they are willing to work with you on your animals. Honestly it’s a bit overpriced too, it’s gone up a lot over the years.

In and around East Lansing, there are MANY other places to live. Please do yourself a favor and do not live here. We were lured in with the somewhat cheap rent, however our landlords have raised our rent every year we've lived here and have added on extra costs with each new lease as well. Any attempt to contact or negotiate a fair price is either ignored or responded to with a generic, copied email. Please live in a place that you would be happy to call home for more than a few months.

Our family is beyond miserable living here now. We have been here five years and in the last handful of months, this place has downhill fast in several different ways. That makes me so sad to say. I am exhausted by all the issues of safety and danger. Yes, all that is in several written complaints, and nothing has changed or gotten better. We wouldn't sign again if I knew all this was ahead. Now we stuck unless we spend close to 2k of our money for money to break our lease. Please really reconsider leasing here. If you see by all the several one-star reviews, something is up with this place lately. Please bring back the awesome Nemoke Trails we once were proud to call home. I don't feel safe anymore here for our young daughter's safety especially. The buildings' hallways and laundry rooms are never cleaned inside anymore. Just the whole look and spirit of everything has gone way downhill:(

This place is absolutely horrible. I had lived here for several years and the apartments are old and falling apart. Every time maintenance comes they seem to cause another problem on top of the one they were trying to fix. If they even fix the first one. In the winter they barely plow the complex and the sideways. It is often very slippery and usually when they do plow the complex, they will plow you in to the point you have to shovel yourself out. The also shut the boilers off early and turn them on too late. They don't care how many people complain. The windows are super old so there is lots of drafts. They will also jack your rent up by quite a bit each year. Even though the price might be a little bit cheaper, it is DEFINITELY NOT worth it.

Really love living here. The management is very friendly and helpful. The apartments are a little old, but in good condition and very cosy. My favorite thing is definitely all of the walking trails right behind my building, and just being tucked away in the woods in general is a nice place to be. The pool and gym are also really nice, and especially now that it's cold I like going to the hottub a lot.

I have lived in Nemoke trails for 5 months and have liked it a lot. All the staff and residents are very friendly. I enjoy the dog park and all of the trails nearby. The apartments are older but are well maintained and when I did have a maintenance problem it was fixed quickly.

I have lived here for three years and so far, I have loved it. It’s a quiet and beautiful property.

Nemoke Trails is a fantastic place to live. The neighborhood is really quiet and the trails and parks are literally right in your backyard. There are lots of great amenities that are free to residents such as the pool, hot tub, sauna, gym and dog park. They recently got a key fob system which makes these safer to use at night, which I really appreciate. The staff are always looking for ways to improve resident's experiences. Maintenance is quick to answer service requests, and they actually fix the problem (not just tinkering around and saying thats as good as it gets). Would highly recommend living here.

We've lived here for 3 years and we have a great view out our sliding door. As this is one of the select few dog-friendly complexes in the Lansing area, we are happy to have found this quiet, nature filled area within close proximity to all the Okemos businesses. Things they can improve: base flooring is broken underneath the carpet; dishwasher doesn't get the job done AND we've noticed our bill skyrocket on months when we've used it just 3 or 4 times; windows need updating (ice buildup in all windows because of poor sealing around and between windows). Perform inspections of jobs the contractors do (carpeting, painting...) before allowing tenants to move in. This will help hold contractors accountable!

I would not recommend this apartment complex to anyone unless they want to get into the pest control business. Within a year time span, I have killed 12 mice in my apartment. In the beginning when I told them I thought I had a mouse problem, they offered to set traps, but didn't insist. If I didn't want them, they seemed to be fine with the issue continuing. They also told me since I was in a garden level apartment, I was at a higher risk which made it seem like I was just out of luck. Maintenance also has come and done work and left a mess both time without letting me know they would be back. If you enjoy hearing mice play at all hours, then this is the place for you.

I have lived at Nemoke Trails for 4 years and it's a very peaceful and nice neighborhood. The staff are very friendly and very prompt about responding to issues and do their best to remedy them ASAP.

I've lived here when it was owned by Sterling Group and then Monarch Investments. Since Monarch took over, I have had no complaints. The new staff are friendly and helpful, they let you tour a variety of different apartments with different styles, and pet friendly! I have worked with Liz and Alyssa to find my perfect apartment and the renting process was very smooth. I moved in within a week of signing my lease. They also have some great specials which I took advantage of. I absolutely LOVE that it's a stone's throw away from the mall and other shopping stores in close proximity (Target, Wal-Mart, Kroger, Kohls, Meijer). I work at MSU and it's only about a 10 minute commute which is so nice to have. I've only had a few maintenance requests but they were fixed very quickly and when you move in you write up things that aren't working right and they get fixed/replaced right away.

I'm not sure I would recommend Nemoke Trails. The price is reasonable, but that also means that you get what you pay for. It is CRUCIAL that you follow up every conversation with office staff with an email dictating your conversation. Several times we have been told one thing from a staff member, acted accordingly, only to be told something completely different by another staff member and be slapped with a ridiculous fee. Unfortunately, I do not find most of the staff to be friendly or helpful. They can be very argumentative and rude. The pool and hot tub are very unsanitary. The hot tub is usually filled with stagnant, greenish water. The workout facility contains several broken and rusted machines. Maintenance is quick to respond, but the problem is hardly ever resolved in one trip. The walls are INCREDIBLY thin. So much so that I can often hear my neighbors sneeze, talk, and even use the restroom. The pictures of the apartments online are also very misleading (unless you are one of the lucky few to have a renovated apartment.) Even the renovations are poor and the craftsmanship leaves much to desire. For example- all of our drawers, and even our countertop, are crooked. There is no carpet pad underneath the carpet, to the point where you can feel nail pops if you walk with bare feet. The walls are half painted; you can even see the roller marks where it appears the painter called it a day half way into the job. Floor tiles are peeling in the bathroom and kitchen area. Even our building door was without a proper locking mechanism for several months, leaving residents vulnerable to strangers walking in at any time. I will say that the neighborhood and surrounding area is very nice and safe. You are close to most everything, and the University is a 10 minute drive. However, our overall experience has been poor and we will be moving upon completion of our current lease.

Ever since the new management took over a little over a year ago, it has been horrible. There have been billing mistakes, and staff does not call back with questions. Every time we used the pool it was absolutely disgusting! I liked the location, but it is not worth the pain of dealing with management.

My family and I have been living at Nemoke Trails for about 2 months now, and we absolutely LOVE it! The indoor swimming pool is wonderful, and the gym has a ton of equipment and machines considering it is FREE for residents! The location is also great. We are less than one mile from the elementary school and within 3 miles of the mall, walmart, meijer, dollar general, the police department, and many restaurants. There is a nature trail that we have enjoyed walking in the evenings that leads from the property to a park. All the residents I have met so far have been friendly! The apartments themselves are also really well taken care of from what I have seen. Our apartment had all new carpeting and was very clean when we moved in. I LOVE the HUGE bedrooms and walk-in closet! I have to acknowledge the staff as well. The people who work in the office are SO nice! They make you feel important! The maintenance staff is also great. We needed help getting a closet door back on its track and someone was there to fix it for us within an hour or two! I honestly cannot think of a real complaint.. It would be nice to have a covered parking spot for everyone without having to pay $20, but that is not a big deal for me personally. We love our new apartment and the surrounding area! This location is great because it has easy access to bike trails, Lake Lansing, restaurants, and the Meridian Mall while still being tucked away off of the main road. The apartments are very well maintained and both work orders we filed were taken care of immediately. It has a convenient workout facility and indoor pool and also access to outdoor pools at nearby apartments owned by the same company. I would highly recommend!

Pros: Nemoke Trails is a nice apartment complex about 10 minutes away from Michigan State University. It's tucked back from the main roads, so it's generally quiet with far more foot traffic than vehicle traffic. The property is adjacent to a network of trails, parks, and forest, so there's a lovely area to walk your dog or take a bike ride. Maintenance is quick to respond and professional, and the leasing office is very friendly. Apartments are a good size and good value; updated apartments have nice light-wood cupboards and modern-looking hardware. Apartments have a wall air-conditioning unit and dishwasher, and every building has a laundry room. An easy walk away from the local library, the middle and high schools, a weekly farmer's market, and a little strip mall with hardware store, diner, Rite-Aid, dry cleaners, etc. Pet-friendly with a fee. Ample parking, bus stop a 5-minute walk away. Definitely a good price for your own apartment, safe and comfortable. Cons: Right next to the train tracks, so it can be loud when the trains come through (I don't hear them anymore, it's something you get used to). Buildings are definitely older - walls are thin, squirrels get inside, non-updated apartments definitely show their age. Appliances tend to be older. Open parking unless you want to pay $20/month to park under a carport. Pets require a deposit and monthly pet rent. Lacks some of the amenities that would be nice, like in-unit washer/dryer, programmable thermostat, etc. The seal on my windows is broken so I have to plastic-seal them every winter, and the heat isn't exactly robust. The exercise room and pool have often been closed or partially closed for various reasons. I would certainly recommend Nemoke Trails. Nowhere's perfect, of course, but Nemoke has a combination of good location, good price, and good value.

had problems first week moving in and the management ignore them all. I was stuck in a year lease, this place has bugs, my son has a insect allergy and they don't care, they take your money with a smile and stab you behind your back. they refuse to fix anything in my apartment. and they gave me a letter saying I have to move.. that's because I have told them I am calling a lawyer. they are unprofessional.. rude...and there pool smells like fish and raw sewage and there hot tub has been broken for 6 months month.. I wouldn't live here. they also don't salt there side walks during the winter time. my kids have gotten hurt with a concussion on this property

Nice place, maintenance seem quick. Enjoying the first few weeks of living here!

I love that neighborhood. The biggest issue is the rent. It goes up quickly. With that said maintenance is friendly and fast. The office staff is great.

Located relatively close to MSU, and definitely many stores. Going here and there is very convenient. The staff here are helpful and friendly. The neighborhood is very safe and quiet. Maintenance is done almost as soon as reported. Awesome place.
