Hello, As a resident tenant in Neponset Landing, I would say living here meets below standards of the market rental rate! When there is an issue pretty much a hit/miss response time to evaluate & address. There are some aspects of being a tenant where I feel are not honored or respected. Where the tenant just gets dealt the con of the situation. Alot of the original amenities & values of being a resident here has passed or been discontinued (which is truly sad).

Hi all - We have recently moved into Neponset at 8th Floor. The apartment have a very good layout, separate kitchen and lot of storage space. We have amazing view of Boston skyline. I love this apartment. The leasing manager Ann was very supportive and helped a lot during booking process. We got a nice deal by leasing team. The only con is when i open my apartment windows then , i can hear tracks sounds when a train is passing. Overall, I liked the community and apartment and recommend this place.

Ive been living here close to three years now I must say I enjoy living here The building is nice the surrounding area is very beautiful specially in the summertime!. Im going to be honest. when I first moved here I didnt prefer the rental staff!. But they have made so many changes the new rental staff are pleasant You couldnt ask for a better maintenance team and also concierge. And watch better than a pet friendly building if you have pets that you love. Sometimes when I go down in the morning to get my mail very early there are people cleaning everywhere which I love They really try to keep it very clean here nothing better than that thats for sure Plus on a good day you are A hop skip and a jump to Boston you cant beat that.

Hi Neighbor, your wonderful feedback and rating mean a lot to us! Thank you very much!
I really enjoy living here so far. It’s clean, quiet, super close to the city (and, anything you need in and around Boston!). I really wanted an apartment where I could be particular about my parking choices, and there are plenty of parking options at pretty great monthly costs for being this close to the city.

Incredible management team, for once. Previous management here and at other buildings (non Greystar) have sucked. Beautiful facilities, rent is reasonable. The Boston traffic sucks, but that's everywhere. If Jackie and Vanessa leave, my wife and I are out of here.

Hi, we are very happy we could provide you with a positive experience! If you have any further questions, please give us a call. We're always happy to help! -The Neponset Landing Team
I’m usually not the one to write bad reviews(matter of fact this is my first time), but this place is honestly so unorganized that I felt like I needed to let potential future residents know. The apartment looks nice, from the outside. But internally, it is run so badly. First, the management NEVER answers your email. Everything they use in the unit is cheap. Our shower head completely broke off, we were left with a hose sticking out from the wall. If it was a kid or anyone in general, you could EASILY get hit or get electrocuted from it. Next, the bars from the fridge not only fell off, the shelves completely shattered and we were left with broken pasta sauce jars and drinks spilled and glasses everywhere on the floor. I reached out to management, but no answer. I sent a follow up email, still no answer. I work at a hotel and have a crazy work schedule so I could never catch them in the leasing office. The “dog park” that they seem to advertise so much is never cleaned, the grass is never cut. It smells like poop. With the rent that we’re paying, you’d think they would take better care of the public area. Not only this, my car was vandalized in their parking lot (keyed and side mirror shattered). They showed no empathy and offered no solution. Apparently, the surveillance camera only shows SOME angles of a supposedly secured parking garage. Overall, just avoid this place at ALL cost please. It looks like a fancy place but it is run by untrained, unprofessional people. The fact that they use the same generic respond for every review on here honestly says a lot. I work customer service at a hotel in seaport district in Boston and I can definitely tell you this is NOT the way to resolve issues with your residents/customers.

Hi, we regret to hear that you had a negative experience with us, but would appreciate the chance to turn your experience around. We would like to work towards a resolution, so if you are willing, please reach out to us at (617) 847-6900 to discuss this further.
Ever since this building was sold to Greystar this place has really dived in quality. Tons of money spent doing unnecessary common area renevotions - which by the way were delayed by various mishaps and went well over the estimated time line - rents are hiking up substantially as well. Gotta make a buck somewhere I guess when you buy a building. (Did everyone have fun not being able to use the front door, gym, and rec room for months?) Current management refuses to turn the AC on until June 15th - We are coming up on a heat wave and I can only assume that they don't live here, because this building becomes insufferable as soon as it gets over 60. They cite that their hands are tied legally because Mass law says the landlord must have heating available till the 15th of June, and since only the heat or AC can be on at the building level there is nothing they can do. They neglect to mention that every apartment has an electric heating system that can run while the building AC is active - but this apparently isn't good enough for them even though it was good enough for the last 8 years of previous management. Hands are tied by greed I guess ¯\_(?)_/¯. Front office always has plenty of excuses ready to go for any problem you have!
Property Manager at Neponset Landing, Responded To This Review
Hi there, we appreciate your honest review. We set a high standard for ourselves, so we are disappointed to hear that your experience with us was not a positive one. We are obligated to comply with all state and federal laws, but continue to exhaust all options to find resolutions that will satisfy our residents. We know how renovations can be an inconvenience, especially delays due to emergency issues outside of our control! So, we thanked our residents for their patience by offering concessions such as Planet Fitness reimbursements while they were unable to use the old amenities. Our hope is that the final product with updated spaces and added amenities have improved all residents? living experience. Thank you again for leaving feedback. Please reach out to us at (617) 847-6900 so we may identify ways to improve your experience.
I am a current resident at Neponset Landing and I would not recommend living here. My fiance and I moved from one apartment to another this month and management is charging us to replace the carpet in the full apartment due to a pull in one room which was caused by a defect in the carpet itself when vacuuming. We contacted the company that replaces the carpet and the lowest quality Olefin carpet is used in the units. In my research on this carpet I found that it is not suitable for apartments/high traffic areas due to the loops in it that are easily snagged as well as the scoring and the flattening of the carpet. The area of the damage was about a foot long and was a very thin pull, there is no reason the carpet in that area (or the entire apartment) needed to be replaced. If they would like to replace the full units carpet for vanity purposes we should not be charges as that is their personal choice, not in an effort to "fix damage". My fiance and I would not have any issue paying for any fees due to damage that we caused but in this case pulls and snags are part of normal "wear and tear" of Olefin carpet. We keep our living space very clean and try to maintain it as best we can. Neponset Landings use of poor quality materials is out of our control. I have spoken with multiple other tenants and they also all report pulls and snags in their carpet as a result of vacuuming. The building manager said that when we originally moved in we should have noted the poor quality of the carpet but since the carpet choice is not an option on move in we did not see why that would be something we could note. There are many other downfalls of the building that I can note: the T that runs behind the building is very loud, the property surrounding the immediate building is not well maintained (trash and dog feces are everywhere), people allow their pets to go to the bathroom in the elevators and common halls, the fire alarm goes off often (especially in the middle of the night), in the winter snow fills up the covered garage parking area and when we moved in to our apartment there were several damages (cracked washer and dryer, broken kitchen sink faucet, broken shower head, stain on the floor of one of the tiled closets, our front door was significantly damaged on the outside of it, loud neighbors, etc.).
Everyone in the leasing office is always extremely helpful and friendly. they create a very welcoming environment and the maintenance request system is very user friendly and maintenance staff is very res[responsive. The T is a 7 minute walk away and the building has a shuttle that runs from 6:30am-9am and 4pm-7pm if you don't feel like walking. Love the washer/dryer in the unit and the finishes are modern yet not too trendy, The concierge company has changed recently which is the only downfall, as they used to be amazing and now they are hardly at the desk and post their cell phone numbers for you to call while they are constantly away.
I have lived in this building for 2 years now. I have mostly positive things to say. The building's maintenance is always on top of things. They have an online system that you can use to make request or make payments. The gym is kept in good working order and when something is malfunctioning it is repaired by the following week if not sooner. They also have common lounge area and theater room with comfortable chairs and couches. They can be rented out for when you want to have a private party. They encourage this so that way you don't disturb your neighbors. They have a shuttle service that takes you from the front of the building to the train station and even if the shuttle was not there it's only a 10-15min walk. Even though the building is next door to the train line it seems they invested heavily on proper windows because when the windows are shut you don't even notice the trains going by. Unless you are listening for them. I am on the north side of the building and the view to the river is nice. The apartment itself is comfortable. I am not much of a carpet person but it's manageable. I can't really say much about the layout because all the units are different. But the unit I am in is a 2 bedroom 2 bath and it works well. I only wish that the laundry room was not in one of the bathrooms. Now something very important for us in MA is that the heat is included along with the cooling (each one is turned on bases on the times of year). Now as for the things that bother me. The main thing is that the neighbors can be a bit inconsiderate. But it is really only one thing that they do that bugs me and that is that they smoke in the bathroom and that can travel to the other apartment. This is something that bugs me significantly. not just because the neighbor is doing that but it also tells me that the bathroom exhaust is not the best. But I have never smelled any one using the restroom only cigarette smells. But to sum it all up it's a nice place. The rent I feel is a bit high but you do get good service and I am living with roommates so its split.
Neponset Landing is generally a superior apartment building. Neighbors are friendly as is the staff in the office and at the front door. Apartments are well appointed and on move in, our unit was clean and in like new condition. The few times we have needed maintenance, they always respond within a day and are professional and polite. As a female, I have never felt uncomfortable with them coming into our apartment when my husband was not at home. The building is approximately a 10 minute walk to the T (North Quincy) and there is a shuttle during rush hour M-F (excluding holidays). While I do not commute via T, my husband does and he is generally happy with the shuttle. The building is pet friendly and most residents own dogs. At times this leads to an excess of dog feces around the building but generally owners are good about picking up after their pets. Rent is extremely high and gets higher each year (this past year it increased almost $200 for our less than 1000 sq ft apartment) as are the pet fees ($85/month). Utilities are also pretty high. It is rare for our electric bill to be less than $60/month (we try to keep lights off and not use AC as much as possible in the summer) and our water bill is between $60-$100/month even when we try to conserve water. The other con is that with the location in Quincy, you are stuck with Comcast for your internet and cable. They are perhaps the biggest con in the whole building. One other thing of note, a while back, there was approximately one month where our apartment would smell of smoke/marijuana. We do not smoke. After we complained (and a couple of other apartments on our floor did as well), the office contacted everyone on the floor and addressed the issue. After the office was involved, we never smelled smoke again. Overall, while the building is expensive, you get what you pay for. The location is lovely, with views of the Boston skyline from some apartments and you are right on the Neponset River. I feel safe in the building and in the area in general. I recommend Neponset Landing to anyone looking for an apartment in the area.
