Property Ratings at New Brighton View
I lived here for a year and only left because I needed a location closer to work. From the very beginning, Angela (Manager) was incredibly accommodating. Before I had even signed the lease she went out of her way to make every step as convenient for me as possible and this continued throughout my lease. Angela definitely takes a lot of pride in these apartments as there were continuous improvements being made as well as community social events so neighbors could get to know each other. Maintenance was also wonderful; Chris was timely with every request and even replaced my old AC unit with a brand new (and very nice) one without me having to ask. You WILL NOT be disappointed with the staff here. Pros: Close to Minneapolis, park & ride, grocery stores, gas station; the pool area is very nice; friendly neighbors; plenty of parking; rent is reasonable and you can pay online; quiet at night; spacious bedrooms and balcony; new renovations Cons: Office hours are tough with standard work hours but again, Angela was always accommodating when I needed it; wall-unit AC (but still stays fairly cool in summer) This was the fourth apartment I'd lived in and by far the most organized and communicative management I've experienced. At other places I felt like nothing more than a dollar sign but here I felt that they genuinely appreciated my residency with them.
I've lived here for close to 2 years now. The staff is friendly and very helpful. They take pride in the building and keeping it clean. The building is on the older side and not super pretty on the outside but it is very well maintained. Maintenance is generally pretty quick to get work orders done. The two bedroom apartments are very spacious and definitely one of the best finds out there for price per square foot. I also love that its minutes away from the freeway (ignoring MN construction season right now) and easy access to Minneapolis, Roseville and St Paul.
I have lived in this complex for over five years. It has really improved within the last two years with the new management. They have done a lot to fix up the buildings and the grounds. They are committed to making the complex a great place to live. The apartments are good sized and have lots of closet space. The apartments are about 15 minutes away from both downtown Minneapolis and St Paul. There's lots to do around the neighborhood. The schools are top notch and committed to creating life long learners
I have lived in this complex for over 30 years. This bldg. is the last one I moved into abt 5 yrs ago. The people who now manage the bldg. are fantastic. They have done a lot to improve the conditions that the bldg. needed fixing. They have put new washers & dryers in both laundry rooms. They put in new carpeting, they also put new pipes in the pol room. they have done a lot to make our bldg. look good. My apt is 1100 sq ft. These were the largest apts in New Brighton when they were built. When you have a staff that cares how their bldg. looks & treats the people who live with respect, you enjoy living here. We are about five minutes from a major shopping center, banks, convenient store right across the parking lot & across the street. There are a McDonald across the road from the complex & 2 restraunts within walking distance. The bldg. I live in is a family building but there are singles who live here too.
Although they have attempted to fix some of the problems, we have experienced severe floods from rain and from backed up sewer pipes; many maintenance issues go unaddressed, or unresolved; new management took over a year or so ago and they have made some improvements, mostly to the exterior so people coming to look will think it's nicer than it is. We have had significant rent increases every year (this year $100!) to pay for these exterior improvements. Additionally, the woman in charge of the office is a control freak with a mean streak. She treats everyone very poorly, the mailman will not even leave packages at the office because she was so rude to him, so now we all have to go to the post office for our packages, unless we are home when they come. I cannot see out my patio door the double glass is so filthy in the middle. You cannot clean it. There are many more complaints I could lodge. On the positive side, the apartments are much bigger than your newer apartments. There are some nice people living here, but there are many children that are out on the playground unsupervised, and I can tell you I would not let my child out there. Some of those kids are out of control. If your apartment faces the playground, with basketball hoop, you are going to deal with some serious noise. Sorry but this is the truth. I only wish I had known.
New Brighton View is the best value around. 2bd 1.25 bath $830/mo 1100sq ft....can't find that anywhere close. Within walking distance to Barley Johns, Big Louie's, Perkins, Snap Fitness, Oasis, bus stop and much more. Short drive to NE mpls, St Anthony, Columbia heights and Rosedale mall. The staff are very helpful and have been working hard to make already nice apartments even nicer. TONS of closet space! Dishwashers, air conditioner units in living room and master bedroom, master also has 1/4 bath. Larger balconies, sizable laundry rooms and indoor pool. The draw backs are the windows are old double pane and clunky, there are small wall mounted fireplaces in the living rooms that aren't operable taking up a bit of space but they add character. Great place to live. Quiet neighbors and easy access to 35W. Absolutely great space for the price.
This building is over 40 years old. It was the largest building complex built at that time. My apartment is exactly what I want but it does need work done, like new carpeting new patio doors new hood over the stove. I have lived in this complex since 1977 & have a total of 5 different apartments in various buildings & different wings. I really like the area & the new management. The new management is doing a lot of work in this building & the grounds. When they et done the building should be back to it original beauty,
