In spite of the troubles Detroit suffered in the late-20th and early-21st century, a falling crime rate and the availability of inexpensive housing within established neighborhoods have led to a renewed interest in giving the city a brighter future. Nowhere have these efforts shown more visible success than in Downtown, which has bounced back to become one of the hippest urban districts in America. Refurbished vintage buildings and skyscrapers give the district a retro feel in many places, and even modern touches like the Joe Louis monument pay homage to the city’s rich history.
The landscape is packed with professional sports arenas and performance venues, putting residents just steps away from the hottest events in town every night of the week. The popular RiverWalk incorporates bike paths and walking trails along the Detroit River, providing excellent views of the skylines for both Detroit and Windsor, Ontario.

Property Ratings at New Cadillac Square Apartments
I have experienced every kind of roach both inside my apartment and in the halls. Management does not treat infestations with any urgency. Please please please beware!!!!! Do not be fooled by the price, it's not worth it. I want to escape as soon as I can.
Location perfect , all utilities included .. but it’s a chance you will see roaches in your unit
No parking for residences, huge bug problem, outdated appliances
This place is just going down hill fast. I would recommend spending a little more money and go elsewhere.
Building manager doesn't manage anything well, seems to have no contacts with the city, and doesn't vet the staff. The hallways are dim and smell bad because they are never cleaned. The building has been infested with bed bugs three times in the past five years that I know of. There's been a city work crew violating nighttime noise limits for a month righto outsider the building, but because the manager doesn't live here he doesn't care. The building recently got fiber optic internet, which is the only thing recommending it at this point. Staff has walked into my apartment multiple times without letting me know, which is illegal. One time, they saw me naked. The dryers in the laundry room stained all my white clothes with yellow oily splotches, and now I have to do my laundry off site. What a huge mistake moving into this building. Pay a little more for a better place nearby.
I've been here for a few years now and it has worked out very well. These apartments are one of the best values you'll find downtown. With that said, don't expect a luxury loft. Most of the units aren't extremely updated, and the ones that are don't use premium finishes. For the price you pay, everything is adequate. My unit is spacious with a great layout. The floors are concrete (under the carpet), so you don't hear the neighbors above or below. Unfortunately, the thick plaster walls absorb a disappointing amount of sound from the apartments next to you, so hopefully you're neighbors aren't too loud. I can hear every word of conversations at normal volume. My description of the units carries over to the building itself, meaning you get what you pay for. It is well kept with nice historic details, but it is nothing fancy. The fitness room is a nice touch, but you'll want an external gym membership if you're into serious workouts. It has the basic cardio equipment and a multi-station machine. There are mats, benches, and free weights, but the dumbbells only go up to 25 lbs. The laundry room is conveniently located in the basement and has plenty of machines available when you avoid peak hours (Sundays). Unfortunately, there is no dedicated outdoor space for grilling or relaxing, but the grassy park area across the street is good for pets. The parking lot is attended throughout the day and gated with electronic access at night. The lot is managed by a different company, so you have to pay the monthly fee separate from your rent. A big downside is that the parking spaces are not assigned, so it can be difficult to find parking at times and there are frequently cars that block you in. Luckily, there are plenty of things nearby when you don't want to use a car. Bars, restaurants, Greektown, the ballparks, Campus Martius, you name it. Many places within quick walking distance. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone who asks because the location cannot be beat and many of the units have awesome views.
- someone was murdered across the street. Not safe - cockroaches in hallway - my car window was smashed while in parking lot - heat doesn't work. U don't have access to it Don't move here. Will be a HUGE mistake especially if you're female. Not safe at all
it is perfect building for someone who work in the downtown areas
I honestly have nothing bad to say about this place management is VERY lenient and laid back now that the previous landlord Chris retired, Anders, 'The NEW GUY' is awesome! He's attentive an get's stuff D O N E. The building porters are great, one in particular you have to remind once. But besides that hasn't really given me a major problem. My apartment is BEAUTIFUL newly remodeled with a really really nice kitchen. I know living in a large city is a struggle but at $800/month all utilities included for an 750 sq ft apt I could live here forever. My air-conditioner is BRAND NEW and ICE COLD and they installed it no problem in the beginning of May! Another HUGE plus is that the entire building since its sooooo old (almost 100 years) is completely built out of fire brick and cement and the walls are thick old fashion plaster and you know what that means? SILENCEEEEEE!!!! I haven't heard either of my neighbors on either side and to my left our living rooms are just separated by one wall and he has people over all the time. its like living in a house well except you don't. Last of all downstairs in the 'lobby' they have a convenience store a actually REALLY good diner and a fairly well priced barbershop. LOVE IT HERE!
I work for Quicken Loans and this place is PERFECT! Right in the center of all the hustle and bustle of downtown has an awesome Diner, Convenience store and Barbershop right in the lobby! Would definitely recommend this place!
