About Nicollet Island Historic Homes
Nicollet Island Cooperative, also known as the MidRiver cooperative, features unique living in old Victorian homes in a location that speaks for itself. It is not surprising that there is a waiting list for these homes and that they are seldomly available. Located on the Northern end of historic Nicollet Island, you will find the Nicollet Island Historic Homes MidRiver Cooperative. Consisting of twenty-two units in six historic homes dating from the late nineteenth century, the co-op is part of a rural oasis in the middle of downtown Minneapolis. The MidRiver (Nicollet Island Historic Homes) Co-op was formed in 1988 in an effort to preserve and rehabilitate several of the Victorian-era homes on Nicollet Island and to provide affordable housing to its residents. The co-op is managed by an annually-elected Board of Directors and also consists of several committees (currently: Membership, Maintenance, Finance, Documents, Buyout, and Rehab) which advise the board, and on which all residents are welcome and encouraged to participate.
Nicollet Island Historic Homes is an apartment community located in Hennepin County and the 55401 ZIP Code. This area is served by the Minneapolis Public School Dist. attendance zone.

A quaint island on the Mississippi River, Nicollet Island is a cozy green space and residential neighborhood that’s partially an island and partially on land across the river from downtown. Residents have easy access to the Warehouse District and Downtown Minneapolis. Although part of town is considered an island, most of the apartments available for rent are on land and range from affordable to upscale with many high-end options. Nicollet Island is home to excellent public schools, beautiful views of the water, charming island inns, and delicious local restaurants.
