The neighborhood of Homewood takes its name from the historical museum located on the campus of Johns Hopkins University, which the neighborhood surrounds. Homewood Museum is a National Historic Landmark, built around 1800 by Charles Carroll, the longest-surviving signer of the Declaration of Independence -- he died in 1832 at the age of 95. Carroll was a US Senator for the state of Maryland from 1781 until 1800; he also helped establish the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad.
Because much of the neighborhood consists of the university, most of the apartment communities are located along the edges of the neighborhood, especially along University Parkway and Charles Street. In addition to the university and the museum, Homewood also contains Wyman Park, which contains part of the Stony Run Trail, the Space Telescope Science Institute, and Homewood Field, the university's sports stadium for the football, lacrosse, soccer, and field hockey teams.

Property Ratings at Nine East 33rd
Be prepared for a horrible experience if you make the mistake of living here. The leasing team is awful and irresponsive to complaints. The building rips off its residents with exorbitant fees such as a required “garbage valet” and $100+ charges for key replacements. The building also has issues with mold and pests. The mold issue is particularly acute due to the lack of fans in the bathroom. Pick another apartment near Homewood instead!
Came in for a walk in tour. I didn’t have an appointment but was still accommodated. Vernell was quite pleasant and very knowledgeable. She was able to answer all of my questions. ;-)
Leasing office is apathetic to issues like mold, theft, and vandalism
The AC does not work. The air is being circulated by it is not being cooled down. Management is troubleshooting this and providing box fans. Temperatures are hitting 90 degrees; box fans do not cut it. They should be offering window units to the suites that are impacted. This has been on going for weeks. If it was in their apartment/home, management would not be so tolerant.

Decent building. However, they'll charge you late fees even if you pay your rent on time, and they're unwilling to work with you to get the problem resolved in a timely manner. Kinda a rip off. Also the walls are paper thin--seems to me that the company just wants to make as much money as possible, and doesn't really care about the residents very much/cut some corners in construction.
My adult daughter stayed at this apartment during 2016-2017 year and her contract was not signed. However, she had a mental breakdown in February, 2017, and attempted suicide. So, she dropped out of school at JHU. In spite of that, Management, demanded remaining rent from me as a father although I had nothing to do with her contract. She is 23 years old . Now the residence is threatening to sue me and report me to credit Bureaus and Collection agencies, saying my daughter mental problems have nothing to do with payment. To me, this administrative behavior is insensitive, greedy and ridiculous. I will sue them, too, if they continue bothering me. Also, Maryland Law allows application fee of $25. But this apartment complex charges $50 in violation of State Law. Multiply that by hundreds of students who reside there. What a rip off!! Enoch 7/4th, 2017
