With its iconic gas-lit streets and beautiful historic architecture, South Orange is one of the New York area’s most distinctive suburban communities. Predominately a residential township, the local rental market features a range of apartments and condos suitable for any budget. The thriving Downtown district is packed with dozens of unique restaurants, specialty shops, and entertainment venues to ensure that you never go bored in your off hours: within just a few blocks, you can start your day with a hearty breakfast at Grid Iron Waffle Shop, enjoy a classy evening out at Papillon 25, and catch a band at South Mountain Tavern.
You’ll benefit from direct access to huge parks and nature preserves, with Cameron Park sitting adjacent to Downtown and the sprawling South Mountain Reservation bordering the west side of town. South Orange is home to Seton Hall University, serving around 10,000 students and contributing heavily to the community’s intellectual and cultural climate.

Property Ratings at NJ-258 Halsey Gardens
I absolutely would not recommend Holsey Garden Apartments for a number of specific reason recently the rent has been increased $50 a month and for the life of me I cannot see any validity in this increase considering the living conditions in this complex. the laundry facility rarely works in the laundry facility rarely works and there is no indication what so ever when a washer or dryer appliance is not working there is no sign or indication that these appliances are out of lrderer and I have lost a tremendous amount of money because they remain there plugged in looking like they are operable I've called the office several times concerning this issue inside my apartment I have a piece of plywood that the maintenance people put under my sink to hold it up the electrical outlets don't provide enough amperage to even really generates a hairdryer let alone an air conditioner sufficiently I believe it's because the building is very old calling the office does not so much solve the problem as it stands I find what they do is likepaciifythe tenant by assuring them that the issues will be resolved but I have yet to see one really resolved there's a dryer in one of the laundry facilities that has been out of order for 3-4 months now the parking conditions are absolutely terrible one has to park so far from the entrance to the apartments and in order to even get close enough to your particular apartment there's some sort of a waiting list since when you first moved in here you may park down by the Rite Aid and have to walk up here the enamel in my bath tub is constantly peeling everytime I take a shower I have to take the enamel out of the drain despite the fact they've come in and and painted the tub the problem is that they didn't take the old enamel off I feel that everything they do is rigged cheaply.
Stone Mountain Management is a company that overcharges and doesn't fix. All they care about is if the rent is on time, it's not important if your stove works, you have water damage, or your water is coming out brown. I would recommend to avoid them at all costs which may be hard since they own multiple buildings down South Orange Ave.
