Norristown is a suburban community that really is close to everything: Philadelphia is only about 45 minutes away by car, and SEPTA rail service is available from multiple stations around town. In addition to the convenient proximity to the big city, Valley Forge National Historic Park and King of Prussia Mall are practically right next door.
Closer to home, Main Street and Marshall Street are home to several locally-owned shops and restaurants in an attractive, walkable setting, with many historic buildings nearby as well. Attractions such as Elmwood Park Zoo and large parks like Norristown Farm give residents plenty of opportunities to enjoy time outdoors, right in their own backyard.

Property Ratings at Norris Hills
This is the worst part ever. Not good for families. You get obnoxiously loud neighbors, People smoke weed constantly so your apartments smell like weed, You get a lot of bugs, including roaches, beetles, and spiders, Management does not listen to any requests. They make it extremely Easy to rent these apartments and that’s actually an awful thing because they don’t care who rents. They have no care for any family. Not to mention, trash gets piled up way too fast and people throw their trash all around the outside of the building. It’s disgusting here and I would take your money elsewhere. It is not worth it
I am a new renter and will be moving into Norris Hills in about a month and a half, but I would like to speak on their application process. The application process was completely painless and the staff was very responsive every step of the way! When my partner and I forgot a document, or they could not access information for our application, their management team promptly emailed us to let us know what we needed to fix. Having someone communicate with us from day one of submitting the application to signing the lease was fantastic! We always knew what our app status was and never had to feel confused. Thank you to the Norris Hills staff for making this process as easy and seamless as possible!

Homeless people sleep in the hallways there are no locks on the doors maintenance is never done. Mice and roaches
Worst living experience I've had in my life. The buildings are infested with bugs and mold and are never cleaned. Sewage lines back up frequently leaving raw sewage in the apartments. The tenants do not care about others and frequently play loud music, stomp around, slam doors, and leave trash everywhere. The laundry rooms are disgusting and filled with mold. They lie about the provided amenities. The office staff does nothing to help and will simply ignore complaints. They do not care about their jobs whatsoever. If you want a quiet or safe place to live, this isn't it.
My sister and her boyfriend moved in, the stove is totally unsafe. Loud neighbors, who run up and down the stairs all hours. A loud downstairs neighbor who blares their TV at all hours. Same neighbor has two dogs who bark at everything. My sister and boyfriend also were told they would be getting a dishwasher and not one to be seen in their unit when I saw them.
I am currently renting a two bedroom apartment which has other tenants in the same building who smoke inside there apartments which fortunately for me leaks right into my apartment so me and my three year old get to smell that everyday even after lighting candles and cleaning the entire apartment. Called the office to see if they would do something about it and no of course not so I’m stuck in a year lease non smoker who has to deal with smell of smoke everyday. Not to mention anything maintenance-wise you will have to call everyday and follow up with them like a 4 year old until it is done and even then it might not be done the right way or entirely I wanted to move out after the first month of living here I’ve lived in New York Florida and Pa and this is by far the worse apartment I’ve ever rented out.

Hi Sean - we are so sorry to hear about your move-in experience and your time here as a resident! We do have a 100 point move-in inspection which is done before anyone moves in. We would love to offer you pest services and our team is here to make sure you are satisfied with your home. Please email feedback@rentberger.com and we will be more than happy to make things right! Have a great day, Sean!
This management company is completely crooked. They bought a privately owned apartment building on Locust and hiked up the rent saying we would see how they offer "luxury" living. All they did was put awnings on the front doors. Major roach problems in the basement and throughout the units. Maintenance would come and see the 30 to 40 dead roaches on the floor in the hallway and walk around them and leave them there. No one ever answers the office phone. My unit got infested with bed bugs. I found out, after asking some tenants, that another apartment on my floor had them bad and had to be vacated and bombed. The management company claimed no knowledge and said I had to pay for extermination because I brought them in. Did the prep work for the extermination and their exterminator refused to do it because he said I had too many belongings and he would not be able to get rid of them. I lived my life out of trash bags for two weeks while I argued with management to get a new exterminator in that would help before the problem got worse. They finally got someone in and this point I was fed up. I was pregnant and stressed and I had a 5 year old getting bit by bugs. I had three months left in my lease and since they wouldn't get an exterminator in to treat for a month, I demanded out of my lease. I fought with them and had to get a lawyer involved for them to agree. I lost ALL of my belongings. All of my furniture, books, electronics, etc. They waited too long to treat and I didn't even trust that the exterminator that I had to pay for did anything. I basically left with the clothes on my back and never looked back. I was just contacted by the girl who lives in my unit now and guess what...she has bed bugs. Management is telling her there was never an incident of bed bugs in the building and she brought them in! They are charging her $600 to get rid of the bugs. They never even got rid of them after I left. They also kept the carpet in the apartment knowing I had lived there for four years and had bed bugs. They are completely immoral. RENT AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Noise will be a factor no matter where you rent, and while you can hear your neighbors, everyone seems to respect one another and stays relatively quiet especially late at night. Everyone has been very courteous and friendly and have welcomed both my roommate and I into our building. Rent has not exceeded more than what we were expecting and maintenance has been overall very attentive to any issues we have had. When we first moved in, there were only minor issues with the interior but it was still a very nice arrangement for two people. The only thing I wish to be different would be to have slightly more counter space but with the right storage, it can still work. I should also mention that I am a young woman and so is my roommate but this apartment fits perfectly for what we were hoping to find.
