Property Ratings at North Park Apartment Homes
The apartment buildings are nice, the community is safe, that's more likely due to the residence than the staff. The resident services team(s) lack customer experience, they are are inconsiderate and unprofessional. Courtesy Patrol useless. The canned response that will provided by the leasing office is done to every post, even after meeting with several of the resident services staff, nothing was addressed and their is a constant change in their management. My last meeting was supposed to be with the community manger, David, though on my last message with resident services, it's no longer David and no one has the list of items which we discussed. If you value customer experience, this is not the place you will find it.
Be aware if you are going to pay more rent to move in to the top floors to seek quietness. All the external Air Conditioners (yours and your neighbors) are right above your head on the roof. The compressors can make 120HZ more than 30db hum noise day and night resonating in the bedroom. It’s worse when multiple starts working at the same time. The maintenance team said it’s unfixable and suggests we move out.
No apartment is perfect, but North Park Apartments have a lot going for it. I have lived here 5 ½ years and have not had any significant problems. The surroundings are very attractive; it’s fun to see what seasonal flowers will be in the planters each year. The apartment buildings form a large rectangle that surrounds 5-acre, Moitozo Park. People use it for volleyball, soccer, cricket!, picnicking, hanging out, walking babies around, and other fun outdoor activities. Often one or two food trucks stop by the park around lunch time. Other residents relax around one of the 10 swimming pools with spas or work out at one of the many fitness centers. In all the time I have lived here, even during the pandemic, every maintenance request was responded to effectively within a day—even the same day if it was a serious issue. Residents are friendly, in fact, many are kind. I am disabled and walk with canes or a walker. I am often offered assistance with manipulating the walker in or out of the car trunk or hauling the groceries up from the parking lot. Pets are welcome and most are well-behaved. So are the children ??. It’s walking distance to the Tasman VTA stop for the Green Line and the Blue Line and the Baypointe stop for the Orange Line. So join me and enjoy a relaxed environment at North Park Apartments.
The places is under construction a lot and trash can area is never clean. people drive crazy here and park in the middle of street and not move and party a lot near pool area and very loud. your mail will go missing or says it is arrived but never there and the resident service will not care if things go missing and the place is just crazy with fly if is hot summer
The apartment trash place is always dirty and garage door always got stuck and the package area something you will not find your mail there. The leasing office usually never reply emails and you have to go there to find them in person and the office is always open late and you have to wait there for a long time and the people there are not nice they always look at you like you are stupid or something and when you call they always sound like you are annoying and want to hang up. the apartment is under construction and if you happened to live there now you will be very mad because it is loud and you cannot complain because the office will say they are hearing the same thing and the apartment price is getting more and more expensive for now reason and nothing improve
Mailroom locker system screwed up and packages go missing. Absolutely no support from Leasing office.
There is an ongoing roach infestation that the landlord has not been able to treat successfully in the past couple of months. They continue to require additional treatments without specifying an end date and expect the tenant to take time out during weekdays to get the apartment ready each time. Management has been difficult to deal with and refuse to provide any additional assistance apart from the treatment.
Lived there for a year and it was an awful experience. The trash area is usually unattended which attracts roaches. The false alarm issue was never addressed and we experienced it throughout our stay. Extremely rude resident service, poor natural lighting conditions, the false emergency alarm goes off always and especially in the middle of the night. Resident Services is always unreachable, no one answers call no one response to the emails. Elevators are poorly maintained. Management is trying to scoop up the pandemic losses from people who are moving out by unreasonably overcharging without a proper explanation for the charges. Be prepared for a ding in your pocket when you move out even if you leave the apartment neat and clean because they'll come up with a reason to charge you any ways.
The leasing office was wonderful and on task. However, when it came time to move in, the apartment appliances were not all functional. And the apartment was not thoroughly cleaned. I found splatters on the wall behind the oven and the oven itself looked as if it had not been cleaned in years resulting in gray baked on gunk. Disposal was rusted through and spewed rust water up the rubber valve. During the pandemic it is not ideal and certainly not the professionalism I would expect from a well known management company to have an apartment in the state this one was in. In the two weeks I have been here, I am still having to wait for maintenance to come and fix the issues. When I think finally everything is resolved the dishwasher was not functional. This is the second maintenance ticket for the dishwasher. And I am still waiting to be able to call this home and to use the appliances in this apartment. Instead of always having to be on call for the apartment to be repaired. Especially during the pandemic and with pets acclimating to a new environment, this is not OK. I would think twice before renting here.

staffs are very accommodating and helpful when you go there for leasing and before signing the lease. when you decided to leave the apartment after the lease or in middle they will not let you go. They dont complete inspection in-time, they does not respond for your email. the staffs response is very rude if you go to resident service. pros: Good location park in the middle of the apartment. Cons: construction is going all the time and it makes a lot of noise and dust they have underground covered parking, though my car window has broken many times in an year. they cancel service request without any reason and dont respond for your email. staff response are very bad and very rude at residents office.

Periodically work must be done to ensure the quality and safety of our buildings for all residents. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and help us improve. Beware before you put your application fee: 1. You would smell strong sewer. This community is near Zankar road which has sewer underneath and has recycling facility closure. They will disclose this at the last step of your application 2. At some buildings construction is going on until 2022. 3. Read other reviews about the community before you decide I wasted my application fee and got to know all these mandatory disclosures at very last step of the application. They said won't refund my application fee but only apologize for hiding this important information, I am trying my best to save your fee. :)

The worst community ever in North San Jose. The moment you sign lease , people going to experience the below: 1. Irvine apartment app is worst and had very bad experience and if we inform they don’t even look into issue to resolve. Min 5-10 times we have to back on them like we do for kids. 2. Management doesn’t have any tracking of your email requests. 3. Never response in time though you keep reminding them 4. Every time some repair works goes on in the community and blocks for months in the name of repairs..... and due to this no proper parking will be available who have second car 5. The Moment you raise service request they cancel and they don’t even mention the reason for cancellation of your request. 6. They speak rudely if we question them for their mistakes done from their end and hangs up phone and never responds. To have a better piece of mind , never ever choose this north park apartments @north San Jose....

This apartment complex, and all other ones in this neighborhood (River View, Crescent Village) which are all managed by Irvine Company are the worst places to live!!! they just care about your money, and you as their customer and resident have no value for them!!! they only care about charging you more and more in any way they can. I lived there for a while, but moved out a few months ago, and will never ever even think about living in one of Irvine Company apartments. they have no respect for their customers. Don't look at the nice photos they post, the reality of these apartments is so ugly and is opposite to what it looks like from outside

North Park Apartments has become a dangerous apartment complex! My next-door neighbor was robbed in the building today. North Park Apartment's security firm is a joke. They tend to respond one to two hours after you place a call, stating that the complex is too large to get to where you are in a timely manner. The security company's dispatch representative got into an argument with me for calling so many times because of a security issue and kept telling me to call the non-emergency police telephone number. The property manager admits that he is not happy with their security company but cannot do anything about them because the security company has an ironclad contract with several of Irvine Company properties. I have been hearing about cars being stolen recently in a secured garage. There are no cameras or enough security patrolling around the clock. I have nightmare neighbors above me who have been making loud noises from midnight to 3:00 am in the morning. They bang on the floor, scream, argue, and have close to a dozen people partying upstairs. My apartment has been flooded by water from their bathroom upstairs several times. I have witnessed several young street-looking shady individuals going in and out of the apartment. The maintenance supervisor informed me that he witnessed close to 30 people in their apartment while fixing the water leak going into my apartment. One day, a bunch of people from the noisy apartment upstairs approached the security in an intimidating manner while I was speaking to the guard and slapped him on his arm to scare him. Property management stated that there is little that they can do apartment the problem tenants due to Santa Clara and San Jose laws. The North Park property managers are quick to take people's money and raise the rent but do not care about screening people probably and having better security. I have lived in multiple luxury buildings and North Park does not meet the standards of a decent apartment complex.

My negative review for this Irvine Company property was prompted by the indifference and condescending approach from Sergio in the Residence Services office at The Cypress. When a resident comes in to report reckless driving by someone living in the community, act like you care. You don't have to care, just act like it. Carlos in the Service Department is awesome and deserves 5 stars. Sorry, Carlos! Sergio ruined it for everyone. Irvine Company executive management has been informed.

They spend all their efforts on landscaping. Management is by far the worst I have seen. Trash everywhere, break in to parking and apartments every week, giant bugs all over the buildings, old inside and nothing works the way it should. For the price their charging you, you can find a nicer place in downtown San Francisco.

These guys will cheat you in every possible way. 1. I wanted to have a look at the unit before finalizing it. So, I placed a hold request at 10 PM, In morning I went to see the unit. However, they increase price in the morning and did not honor price on previous evening even after placing an hold. In fact, seems like they increased the price just because I indicated interest. 2. Construction if going in several blocks. Living here is pain due to noise. After paying very high rent compared to other nearby communities, all you get is horrible noise. They won't tell anything when you try to book the unit. They will secretly add so called "construction advisory addendum" when you sign your lease. So, consider North Park, San Jose considering all this.
The grounds are well maintained and the neighborhood is safe. Gym facilities are great, multiple pools, maintenance staff respond quickly and are helpful and experienced. On the outside everything looks great. Prospective residents and visitors are always impressed. However, the management staff has been either unwilling or unable to deal with real problems. For example, I have a neighbor that has been consistently letting his dog peeing and defecating in hallways and stairs, and lately right in front of my apartment. I complained to the management office. They sent cleaning staff to clean it up. Then it happened over and over again. We showed them pictures and yet it keeps on happening. It has become a public nuisance and a public health issue. There are kids living around here and yet the management is still letting it happen. I told the management that I would make a complaint to the authorities and they didn't seem to be concerned at all. North Park has all sorts of house rules, including specified colors of curtains. And yet they are okay with having dog excrement in hallways and in front of people's apartment. Wow.
The good thing about this complex is its location. Being close to many companies is the advantage. Repairs of the apartments are not good. You can see lots of long time repairs in the complex which has make it ugly. e.g. the elevator which give me access to my apartment from the parking has been damaged for days but they have not repaired it. I have to walk a long path to reach my apartment instead. * The worst thing about this complex is the A/C-Heater that has been installed in the apartments. The sound of the heater is pretty much like a explosion (it is exactly located in the bedroom) and it makes problem when it wakes you up in the middle of the night thinking something has exploded. I have talked with complex and it seems it is the same problem for all tenants (they told me I can buy a heater by myself-thanks for your advice :D ).
Undoubtedly a great apartment with an amazing view(facing the orange orchard). However, when the lease was coming to an end, we received an email with the revised rent which was not even close to our budget, we decided to call them and find out if they could give a revised quote. Started off with one call and ended up postponing it for over a week. We had to find another apartment if this wasn't gonna work out. And finally, the last call we made was absolutely useless. She told us, "Please check the online prices, we don't provide revised quote and we go by that day's market value." I completely understand!! Why on earth weren't we told the same on the first call made for renewal of lease?
someone broke into my apartment and this is what I learned (the hard way). this complex does not have any security at all. even though they have key fob gates and garage doors, they are always open. asked about security cameras, there are none in the common apartment areas, only in the garage and in certain areas, very poor coverage. Leasing office wasn't very helpful in my situation. I requested to move to a different apartment and they will not allow it. they only changed the locks. they weren't open to review the security videos. I recommended adding more cameras and they literary said "we don't offer security". construction discount only applies if your specific apartment is under construction and only while the scaffolding is taking place, to give you an idea, scaffolding is about 3 months out of the 10 months construction duration and if the apartment in front of you is in construction you will feel it as it was your own but no discount at all. totally not worth it. for your safety please don't come to this complex.
My husband and I spent 14 months in Pines 1 and now we've moved into Pines 2. I couldn't complain about our stay in Pines 1. It was amazing. The place was nice and clean and everything we expected. If this review was for just that stay i would give it 5 starts. However, Pines 2 has been nothing but a mess. We were shown a floor plan of the apartment which was not for the one we were moving into. We were promised a bigger patio than the one had at the previous apartment, but there was NO patio. I wanted to see the apartment before we moved in, I tried 3-4 times to see it, even the day of, and it still "was not ready" so of course we found out the apartment doesn't have a patio after half of our stuff is in the apartment. The move was stressful so we didn't want to deal with moving again and pay another $300 to the movers again so we decided to stick it out. The apartment is nothing like the old one. There are stains on the vinyl floor. The compressor in the fridge was broken when we moved in, the shower was not working properly. We had to spend two weeks to get all this done when we had just moved in. We knew we were moving into construction zone, however, we were willing to deal with that since we would be given a discount. Now the scaffolding is down and the discount stops. The building is a mess. The doors are unlocked. our door bell is still just hanging with tapes and what not. and The concession stopped a month and a half ago. Apparently telling you to either stay in or out of the apartment during construction is not part of the concession, but you do pay full rent for that day. Weatherproofing your door and workers having access to your apartment for a whole day also is not considered part of the concession. SO my advice, do not trust them blindly even if they are nice and you've stayed in north park before. Make sure you look at the apartment no matter what before you sign the lease. I suggest you not move into a construction zone to save a little money for a month and deal with a messy loud and dirty environment for several months after the concession stops. Hope this helps.
Hello all, I am software engineer, recently married and moved into an one bedroom apartment at North Park Apartment Homes, six months ago. I had been looking for an apartment community which would satisfy my daily needs without the 'renter's remorse'. Here are the Pros: 1. Community: It's a great community to live in! It's always lively. You would see well maintained lush green lawns, Mediterranean style architecture, young minds and children giving you a sweet smile as you start your day. 2. Commute: VTA lightrail Tasman station is right there. Many VTA bus stops and ACE shuttle stops as well. It's closed to many companies like Cisco, Sandisk, eBay etc. Think about time and car depreciation you will save everyday. 3. Services: Maintenance service requests have been promptly dealt with. Packages have been received with a text notification everytime. 4. Parking: Community services clean parking lots on time. They are safe and spacious. 5. Events: Daily gym classes, Weekly movies in the lawn and much more! Free! 5. I could write a few more, but let's look at Cons. Cons: 1. Rent: Rent is higher compared to some other areas from where you can drive to work. But it's your choice if you want to save $100-$200 and spend 40 mins in traffic. 2. Utilities are little costly, but services are prompt too. I am sure you will love to live here. Thanks for reading my review :-)
The North Park Apartments remind me of a large resort. The grounds are beautiful and there is a large park in the middle of the complex. Its nice to see many people out in the park at all times of the day. There is a market on site, a Starbucks and a Quiznos...no need to ever leave! We love it here!!
I've lived here before and I came back. And the reason why I left was to save money. The saying you pay for what you get is really true. And also the same location location location is also true. You might read some negative reviews about this place but I've never in my past or present encountered any problems. The staff is really responsive on any concerns you might have. They also have an app that makes it very easy to address any of your concerns. The response time is usually 24 hours and they also will leave you a note or call you to let you know that it's been taken care of. The app also makes it easy for you to pay your bills also to give you a heads up on what the community events are. A big plus living here gives you access to all of the communities amenities that's all the pools all the gyms all the fire pits and everything. Now if you have more than one car the only downside is it is sometimes difficult to find parking but if you commute like myself the light rail outside our community is very convenient. If you want to get away from the city every day you come home in a relaxing environment this is the place to live.
