Property Ratings at North Park
We have lived here for a few years and are overall very happy. The neighborhood feels safe and everyone is friendly. Office staff are always courteous and helpful. They try to bring new activities throughout the year for residents to engage in. Whether it's summer food trucks or winter hot cocoa bars, you can actively engage with your neighbors and the staff. And the end of summer dog swim party and cookouts are nice. Maintenance guys are very helpful and respectful to tenants as well. They try to get to work orders in a timely manner. Overall satisfaction rating is 4.5 stars instead of 5/5 because hey, nobody is perfect.
I went with my daughter to look at an apartment there and the kitchen was in bad shape and the metal/rusty closet door was broke and all the paint on the outside terrace was coming off. The lady told us there were NO other one bedroom apartments in Evansville for rent so we told her we would let her know. Well she said there was a two bedroom that MIGHT be for rent but she wouldn't know till the following week because the person was waiting to see if they were approved. She calls that next week and tells us if we want it its ours, well two days later we turned it down as we DID find a one bedroom that was nicer and cheaper!! Now we were told there was a $35 application fee and a $100 deposit that will go towards your down payment IF you take it, if not you get the $100 back, lol WE NEVER GOT IT BACK!!! Lady said that you have to tell them within 48 hours if you want apartment or not, well we had to wait for an answer on the one unit but then turned it down but NOT ONE PERSON told us we had 48 hours to make a decision so guess what, no $$ back!!!!
I love living here! The apartments are very nice and spacious, and have more than enough storage space inside (which I know I need) and that's more than convenient since inside storage is hard to come by in apartment living. The management and leasing staff are extremely kind and helpful, and they're really fun too! They always are so happy when I come into the office and it brightens my day. Maintenance always goes above and beyond to make sure that all residents are well taken care of when they have maintenance needs. They are quick and efficient, but also very kind and personable as well. I love the fact that there is a SALT WATER pool on site, which is almost impossible to find at other apartment complexes. The whole pool area is very nice and spacious, and usually pretty quiet too. Their dog park is pretty nice too so if you have any fur babies, this would be a GREAT fit for you! Even though not all of the apartments have washer/dryer hookups (I believe townhomes do), they recently got a BRAND NEW laundry facility on site and that's extremely convenient since it's so close to the apartments. I highly recommend living here and I love it so much!
On first moving in things were great and everyone was friendly. after a few months I noticed that when something needed fixed (my HVAC) I would receive notice that someone would be coming but no one ever did all the way until I moved out. On turning in my notice to vacate, I was charged double my rent with only a few days notice then was charged late fees and attorney fees on top of that totaling $2,000.00 I was caught up to date at that time on my rent......... people had warned me about this and I didn't listen.
When I first moved into North Park, all was great. Staff was helpful, expenses not bad, things were replaced/ fixed when asked. Then, as expenses went up, service and staff went to pot! Been waiting for months to get my ceiling fixed from the water heater busting. Heater kept breaking down. Have 1 window that has NEVER been right, NEVER got fixed. Office hours are a joke! Not open when they're supposed to be. Once I put in my moving notice, I really got the "royal" treatment. Heater and thermostat quit - "we'll send somebody out tomorrow to fix it!" NO! Was told that expenses would be a particular price for January - got bill for December OMG! Rent went up by $100 then everything else was tacked on top of that! Absolutely uncalled for!
My experience has been great so far at North Park. My apartment was very clean upon move in, and it's much larger than most others in the same price range. The appliances are a bit dated, but they all work just fine. The staff is friendly. There is a new salt water pool, a tennis court and a 24 hour laundry with debit/credit card operating. It is conveniently located by North Park shopping center, local schools and restaurants, a movie theater, and much more. I am satisfied with just about everything. I do wish they'd bring the appliances and cabinets up to date, and that there was a light fixture in the living room and bedroom, which is why I didn't give a 5 start review.
I live at North Park Apts, Evansville, IN. I have been asking for the outside lights to be fixed for months. If you are out at night, you don't know if anyone is around cause it is so dark. Cars get broke into cause you can't see outside. There are lights at the end of each building, but only a few work. And almost none of the light post works. It just seems nobody cares. They don't live here, and are only here in the daytime. There are allot of people who have dogs, walking them at night has to be scary. They leave notes on the doors all of the time about rules, do this or that, or get fined. How about they fix the lights or get fined!! And the empty apartments they leave all the lights on, and we get to pay for it! I am looking for a new place to move. The office people are rude and don't care!
