Property Ratings at Salem Equity
The newly renovated apartment we live in, is very nice. But since we’ve moved we’ve had a few issues that have yet to be addressed by management. It takes a while for them to do anything or respond to any concerns because they’re so busy dealing with everybody else’s concerns. There was no property manager for a while and now there is again so hopefully something will be done soon. As for the neighborhood, it’s friendly for the most part. Definitely many dogs around the area. There’s also been an increase in people hanging around the front steps of the building which is unpleasant but depends on whatever they’re doing. There should definitely be some sort of reform with that as people live in the first floor and they could be loud. I don’t get much of it because I live on the more higher floors. More cleanliness is also needed. Good amount of pest control and bug control. Overall? 6.5/10 as a tenant. Definitely try to rent the highest floors.
My parents and I rent a 2 bedroom apartment and we've been living here for 3 months. I have to say we are quite happy with our new home. On loving day the super came on a Sunday to open the back lot for us and let us use the landlord only parking area for the day. Our super is available during normal business hours and is very easy to get ahold of. The complex works hard to keep the building safe. There us routine plumbing maintenance and pretty diligent repairs. There is also a pest control system in place and they spray bi-weekly. The apartment itself is very spacious and roomy with high ceilings. The building itself pretty old.
