Property Ratings at North Pointe Apartment Homes
This place was not great but ok previously, but they have new management in the front office now, making the residents' lives miserable. Pros: *Beautiful views from some units *Friendly neighbors Cons: *Biggest con: new management continues to put in policies that make the resident's lives difficult and is not responsive to our requests to make changes *Poor quality construction. Poor insulation means its cold in the winter and hot in the summer, so you'll have high utility bills *Trash compactor is very far away for many residents *Police frequently on-premises *Poor noise insulation means the nearby train and road are thunderous at all times. Also, we can hear the neighbors above us just walking around.
The previous property managers were courteous, which was part of why I moved in. Now they have a new manager who seems to do everything they can to make tenants hate living here. We get notices on our doors almost every week informing us about more and more rules. Despite this, they never seem to make any improvements to the complex, which needs many improvements. The notes are often rude and unprofessional. For example, one letter accused the residents of being "trashy" and said we could leave if we didn't like the new rules. There is only one trash compactor in the complex, so people have to carry their trash 1/4 mile. There are no trash containers closer to our units. Then, instead of doing anything about the problem, they put a sign on our doors saying that we are trashy if we don't take all our trash to the compactor every day. In addition, police are here several times a week. Also, the units themselves have many problems that we did not realize before moving in. Our main bedroom has no A/C vents. We have two in the smaller room, but none in the master. There are many other issues, too many to mention.
Wasn’t so bad when I first moved in here, but the management has recently changed and now it’s a nightmare. Can’t wait until my lease is up so me and my pup can find something that we feel like home in. This place is NOT that.
The property manager is great! I love the location and all my neighbors have been polite and welcoming. I have not seen any questionable behavior on the property at all, and the train really doesn't bother me. I look forward to my stay here and would recommend it to anyone!
If you love the sounds of a booming roaring thunderous train at least 5 to 6 times a day including the early morning hours of 1am-5am for 7days a week, then this is the place for you. We were not aware that we were within yards of the train tracks associated with the General Motors production facility when we moved in, nor did the manager let us know. The property is well kept, nicely built, clean and beautiful though.
