Chicago's northernmost neighborhood is also one of the most popular. Rogers Park extends along Lake Michigan, providing gorgeous beaches and park space for residents to enjoy. Stroll around this dynamic neighborhood and you'll likely hear several languages -- it is estimated that at least 40 different languages are spoken in Rogers Park. Part of the reason for that is its university -- Loyola University Chicago, established in 1870 as a private Catholic university, is located in the southeast section of Rogers Park. Northwestern University, located just two miles north of the neighborhood, also draws new residents to Rogers Park. This private research university is considered one of the best in the nation and ranked as the 20th best university in the world in 2017.
Historic, brick apartment buildings stand in neat rows along tree-lined streets in Rogers Park, considered one of the best neighborhoods in Chicago.

Property Ratings at North Shore Apartments
Hi. I have several photos over several weeks of mail being opened and stolen and the building does nothing to stop it. Don’t trust
I lived for three years in this apartment building from 2013 to 2016. This building is located on a very busy Chicago street with many nursing homes, health care institutions and rehab centers around it. The heavy traffic noise and ambulance and red fire truck sirens constantly disturb the tenants. Their sirens in the middle of the night are so load that you may jump out of bed, terrified as if you’re hit by a fire truck in your room! The apartment complex is also next to Loyola University uptown campus and most of neighboring apartments and buildings are rented by students. You may also wake up in the middle of the night on weekends by drunk people shouting, laughing, and singing right under your window. The building is very old and poorly maintained. Management is located twenty miles away at Prospect Heights, IL. We had cockroaches and mice in our unit which we never could get rid of. The hallways and stairs are rarely cleaned and stink so bad most of the time that we couldn’t invite our friends for the entire three years! The bathtub drain kept clogging every few months. Heating is provided by an old baseboard system which cannot be turned on or off in the units. We had to crack open the windows during snowy winter nights of Chicago to vent off the heat! In fact, the windows act like unit thermostats! Cooling system is only a small noisy A/C unit installed in the living room which hardly cools that small room, and the bedroom which has no cooling system at all becomes useless during summer time due to scorching heat. Don’t even think about visiting this building. It’s a total waste of time and money.
I have lived here about 3 years now and have no complaints. The building is well managed and the units are mostly remodeled to a more modern feel. The on site building manager is very kind and personable with the tenants. If you have any issue, he is only a phone or door knock away and will help you resolve them. The location is beyond excellent, with multiple restaurants within walking distance. Loyola University is literally down the street and that adds the extra protection of Loyola police. Speaking of safety there are cameras on the interior and exterior of the building in case of anything. There are 4 coin operated large washer and dryers. There is ample parking in the area and spots available for rent. It took me a couple months to get a spot but the building manager helped me with finding parking in the meantime. There's also a big garage about 5 minutes walking next to the Loyola Red line stop that has spaces for rent. Heat is included and keeps the entire building warm in the winter. Sometimes too warm that I have to crack a window. One year the heater broke in my unit and the manager provided me with a large portable heater until it was fixed. All in all I would recommend this property to anyone.
I’ve been living in this building for a few years, and I don’t have anything negative to say. The building and most of the apartments have been remodeled recently. That gave it the modern look and amenities to go with. There is a laundry room on premises with four new washers and dryers. Two big elevators are always available. The lobby and each floor are cleaned regularly. The Building engineer responds promptly to all requests, he knows all his tenants well. That, and inside and outside cameras make the building safe. In general the environment here is quiet with a pleasant and diverse group of people. Indoor and outdoor parking is available for a reasonable price. CTA access is easy: two bus stops are literally by the building, and Loyola Red Line stop is a 5 minute walk. The area has CVS pharmacy, a few stores and restaurants, T-Mobile, Verizon and ATT stores. Last but not least: Northshore Beach is big enough, clean and beautiful for all, with a huge green park, tennis and basketball courts, a football field and plenty of parking for everyone.
