Property Ratings at North Temple Flats
I have been a resident at North Temple Flats for a couple months now and so far I love it. Parking is a hassle sometimes but management did warn me before I even applied that this would be an issue. That is the only downfall. Otherwise I like having the pool in this heat and the fitness room. also with homeless you see them everywhere downtown I mean we do live in the city what do you expect. as far as management they have been so kind and maintenance has always taken care of my issues with my unit. I am glad I chose this place to call home.
Property Manager at North Temple Flats, Responded To This Review
Hi there, we are very happy to have provided you with such a positive experience! Our new management team has been working so hard this past year to make this place a more safe and enjoyable place to live.
First off, before I forget, I don’t know what “security system” they’re talking about in the “featured amenities”. The only “security system” is the “gated community” part but the gates are always accessible except ONE which is easily bypassed by others such as the constantly broken parking gates. No assigned parking and it constantly fills up and then they started allowing “guest passes” for 24 hours which makes NO SENSE if you can’t even guarantee a parking spot for every person that lives here and drives. The apartments themselves are really great (I think) for what you pay; however, management is not the greatest. The main manager is so rude and unprofessional (the others in the office are always super nice though). The other thing that I don’t understand is how during this pandemic, they require masks to be worn when entering the office and yet NO ONE that works in the office wears one and they’re the ones who have had outbreaks within the office (July for example, the office was shut down for 2 weeks due to an outbreak)! Someone else has already said this too but you have to go into the office to get packages but that’s only when someone is ACTUALLY there which there frequently is NOT. So if you’re looking for a place to live, just keep all that in mind. 1) biggest issue is the parking, as stated before. My lease says I am guaranteed ONE unassigned parking spot, yet my job (which has me home at different hours day/night) doesn’t always allow. 2) no security. Gates don’t always mean it’s secure (and yes, the homeless and drug do happen frequently and are a problem). 3) poor management running the office. I’ve been here for over 2 years and have seen 3 different managements in and out. 4) it can get really disgusting with trash and dog poop. People let their dogs poop in the walkways or in the elevators. There was also a time a couple months ago where garbage trucks didn’t come for almost 2 months so the trash was overflowing into the parking lots really bad! Not like a normal “yeah it reached the top of the dumpster/there’s a couch or furniture piece on the side” no, piles as large as all FOUR dumpsters we have surrounding them all!
Your packages? Always sent to the front desk and they lose them. Your trash? They grossly underestimated the trash output from this many people stacked on top of each other. Things tend to overflow here.
The gates are always broken. If you have more than one car you'll get towed. Drug deals are always happening and homeless people now sleep here. Management never answers your emails and when you schedule a time to pick something up they're never there.
We've been living here since July. Our first week we went without AC in the middle of summer and weren't helped with it. Upon moving in we were supposed to have storage units and amenities. The pool and gym weren't completed and the storage units now cost money due to limited availability. Also, no matter if you have roommates or not, your apartment gets only 1 parking tag. This past week we had our bike locked in our stairwell with the wheels stolen. More than likely, a neighbor took the wheels because no one was seen walking out the gate on the security camera. They are not willing to do anything about it. A lot of empty promises when you move here and disappointment.
I have lived here since the beginning of day 1 and my experience has been disappointing from the start that I do not know where to begin. This will be a very concise review but rest assured I hope the message reaches you on why to NOT live here. Apartments: Poor design and the kitchen is so small there is nowhere to put your big pots or cook as there is barely any counter space. Amenities are alright but gym is very tiny. Perk is that we are the first ones to live here since it is brand new. Staff: Constantly changing and always leave empty promises. Always miscommunication between them and the maintenance as well as tenants. They are nice, but not very helpful to the tenant. Maintenance: Takes forever to fix your issues and also changed people. Neighborhood/Community: Alright. Loud since right next to the 215 and the police are always on-site at night for who knows what. Parking: Biggest issue here. Kiss having guests over goodbye. Super limited with only 1 parking pass available per apartment. If there was any guest or street parking this would be okay but there isn't any whatsoever. Overall, I am miserable living here and will move out as soon as possible.
