Property Ratings at North Village Apartments
I was an upstanding tenant for three years. My rent was on autopay so I was NEVER late. I also never had any complaints made against me. Let me start off by saying, the apartments are old. Which is fine. I picked up my keys sometime in 2019, they handed me a checklist and told me to sign it. The next day to prepare for the movers, my mom and I clean the place from top to bottom, which included vacuuming the carpet. My mom had to empty my Dyson THREE times. It was FULL of cat hair. So basically these owners are not paying for professional cleaners in between tenants. They're solely relying on tenants to clean when they move out before handing over the keys to someone else. So when it's time for me to move out in 2022 I clean the entire apartment. The tub's enamel in the back left corner started to fade with regular cleaning (because I'm a clean person) and when I moved in I could tell it was already a weak area. Also, please be aware that the categories for the move-out checklist are Good, Poor and Bad. Poor and bad are the same. Anyway, I had anxiety all through the holidays because I couldn't stop thinking about how much they were going to ding me despite the apartment having minor wear and tear. After living there 3 years, it's not going to look the same and property owners are supposed to build maintenance costs into their budget planning. Well they don't. They took $200 from my security deposit. Apparently it costs $174.50 to refinish the bathtub in one spot about the circumference of a shaving cream can, and $25 to "clean the stovetop." What a joke. It's a quiet place that's cheap and old and if you're lucky maybe you'll get a unit with a stove from 2008 like I did. You get what you pay for though. Money is tight these days so I get why they attract and keep tenants. Just know you're not getting your whole deposit back. Lastly, I'll say this. The reviews about the manager... Her demeanor/attitude is the last thing you need to be worried about here. Anyway, I'm glad to have put this place in my past. Good riddance.
This is my first month. So far so good. I feel like I'm living in a hotel, but let's see how it will go later on. So far no bug issue which my previous apartment had (plenty). I hope I won't have to call for the leasing office for maintenance in the next one year, since this unit should've been inspected and fixed to a proper level before I moved in. If I ever needed anything fixed in the future, I hope it will be fixed in a timely manner.
This has to be the worst apartment complex to deal with. They take your money for the dumbest reasons. I would not tell anyone to ever rent from here
I love the location and where it is located. I will say that when I first started living here the front desk was helpful.... As the years have worn on, Judi has just turned into a miserable witch that gives you an issue whenever you call in. Mind you - I only call in when there's an issue, but she turns it around on you -making it seem like YOU aren't maintaining the unit, when it's items that I have no control about. It's just gone downhill. They increase your deposit every year, but yet, you can't get new items that are requested. it's a nice place, with lots of perks, but getting an attitude to have something fixed or calling with a question and hearing the exasperation in her voice, just makes it lose its luster. Normally things get fixed in a timely manner, and overall I do like where I live.
I lived here for 2 years and I enjoyed every part of it until I moved out. I had an issue were their dishwasher broke and caused water damaged but I was responsible for it. went back and forth with the landlord for over 2 months and they still refused to give me my money back. i even asked to split the bill and still nothing. My only advice is that you document absolutely everything. I assumed they would take care of me since everything went well but i was wrong and it cost me an entire month's rent.
I lived in one of the sought after duplexes with two small kids for close to four years and loved it. The community is top notch and the location with pool, park, tennis, all the shopping, schools and restaurants nearby was amazing. What I loved most about my duplex was the spaciousness and full basement. It was perfect for my kids to use as a play area. The patio and front yard felt like home. The value for the rent, especially the duplex couldn't be beat. Judi and Corrine in the leasing office are very nice and gracious. Great experience working with them over the years.
