Property Ratings at Northern Pines
Management team is always willing to work with residents, maintenance quick to respond and always knocks and or text prior to coming over on a maintenance request from residents. Always professional and helpful when they can be. Not sure were last reviewed lived here must be different Northern Pines since manager is male for last couple of years. I am moving out of state and thoroughly enjoyed my my for the past 4 years here. Give them a look
I would highly, highly recommend looking elsewhere for your housing. Management of Northern Pines dismissed us too many times in our 12 months living here. I knew something was wrong when picking up the keys for our new place and seeing that it was a completely different layout and apartment than what we were shown and promised when signing our lease. When we complained to management, we were told that yes, we were showed the wrong unit but there was nothing they could do about it. We had countless maintenance issues, one of which a maintenance man walked into my bedroom at 7 a.m. without knocking or announcing his presence, and one of which they never resolved and blamed us for even thought we had only been there one week. I had to deep clean upon arrival because it had not been cleaned properly when we arrived. Management is rude and tried to walk all over us numerous times. They listed our unit as a “2 bed” apartment when it really is a one bed with an office space that they claim is the second bedroom. There is no closet in the second bedroom and when I brought that up, management said “well not everyone needs a closet”. Hallways were disgusting, neighbors are huge weed smokers which wouldn’t be a problem for me if it didn’t seep into our apartment and make it smell as well. This place clearly meets the bare minimum with “legally” running this complex and has no compassion for residents. I could write a novel about all my complaints about this place. However, I will just recommend looking elsewhere.
As others have said, there are fees for EVERYTHING, it's all in your lease, but there's so many little things they'll charge you for. I've lived here about 2 years, staff is friendly and the woman all of the old reviews are about isn't there anymore. Occasionally all of the water will come out ORANGE and cold.. my fireplace has stopped working several times since I've moved in and I don't really use it often enough to bother with maitenence. I'd say these apartments are okay at best, by no means "luxury." At least in my unit, all of those "luxury" features are pretty outdated. Rent's went up $20 every year.
I lived at Northern Pines for 2 years, loved it. Ac and heat was great, every time I called for maintenance it was completed that same day. Rent went up $10 after the first year and $20 after the 2nd, which is why I decided to purchase a house. I gave my notice on July 23rd to move out on August 31st. I had a pre move out inspection, and was approved to move out. I was told there was a waiting list for lower apartments and it was rented right away. I was told I had to move on 8/31, I was told the new tenants weren't moving in until 9/7. But I was not told I was financially responsible for that 1st week in September. So I was charged for that first week. Grrr. I paid. $250 fee to have a dog. Because it's a fee you don't get that back. Grrr. I got charged a $34.68 for re-rent advertising charge - a although it was resented from a waiting list. Utilities services Is who takes care of your utilities, they charge a $10 Move In fee AND a $15 Move Out fee. Oh and they charge a $4.50 monthly service fee. Grrr The security deposit I paid when I moved in was $500 my check today was $281. So my advice it read everything carefully, when you move out, what ever conversations you have with management record it or have it written down. I had such a good experience there until this. They certainly get you on fees and charges etc.
First off, my encounters with Michelle (manager) could not have been more opposite of the negative feedback on here. As someone who is also in a leadership position, I can appreciate a true mutually respectful relationship. Whether it was in or outside of working hours, Michelle always took care of our concerns and did so in a timely professional manner. Never once did I feel Michelle was not looking out for our best interests. The actual unit itself is not anything special but you will quickly learn you get a lot of bang for you buck. The central air/forced air heat work incredibly well, and the hot water is almost too hot and never runs out. Oh, and having a dishwasher, and washer/dryer in unit is fantastic. Our lower unit faces Memorial Dr (STRONGLY recommend a unit that faces Memorial) so we don’t even feel as if we are in a complex. We have a big lawn where our dog can play, and we can park our car right out front during the day.
This maybe one of the worse places I've ever lived. Let me start off with the orange water. I called them on 2 different occasions to report filthy orange water coming from the faucet. It was not continually but every few days orange water would start coming out. I also spoke to one of the maintenance guys who told me to just call management again. Point being till this date no one has called or stopped out to see what's going on. I've had to start buying bottle water to be safe. Second issue, I called management 2 weeks after moving in to let them know that people were walking their dogs passed my apartment and leaving poop in the area. The first few weeks I even picked it up myself as to keep the area clean. Several months later I get a threatening email from management telling me if I don't pick up the poop they will fine me. I called them immediately to explain it wasn't mine and come to a resolution, but within 30sec of being on the phone the manger told me she didn't like my tone and hung up on me. I again attempted to call them on 3 different occasions but they would not answer the phone. I was then made aware that they were having staff come to my apartment while I wasn't home to take photographs outside in some attempt to collude me with the poop. Issue is my dog stays on a leash when she goes out, I checked and none of the poop was anywhere in the range of where she could reach. So I then went directly to the admin building where managment is at. I asked for the manger, and simply explained to her the information listed above, however again she did not want to hear it. She Said that I could not talk to her like this and refused to engage in any type of dialog so we could come to a resolution. So they were pretty much threatening me and harassing me for something I had no hand in, and when I tried to resolve it in a civil manner I was told that management didn't want nor have to speak with me? Moral of the incident is if I was you I would wholeheartedly recommended you find a different apartment to stay at. The treatment and harassment I received from staff for something that could of been resolved with a simple conversation is scary. Just think if it were actually something big or of consequence that had happen. I'm not trying to sway you one way or the other just that the anxiety they put me through just really isn't worth it, trust me, and please read the other reviews because im not the only one

We always encourage open communication when done in a calm reasonable manner. Our only intent is to keep our property clean and looking its best. We take a lot of pride in our community which is why a dog waste notice would have been served in the first place.
Management is very rude and completely unprofessional. They make up changes that are clearly not written in the lease and say that the 'changes have yet to be processed yet'. That is actually illegal and extremely unprofessional. They do not give you full information and then will give you random charges for things that they did not make you aware of. The manager Michelle here actually called and yelled at my sweet elderly neighbor because she had problems with her flooring that were existing before she moved in. Some times the patio doors will flood in the winter and management is reluctant to do anything about it. They are also selective about which rules they actually enforce as there is always a smoke smell filling our hallway in a 'non-smoking common area' and there is usually piles of dog poop on the lawn in front of my building. The first floor is very dark and the walls are paper thin. I have overheard multiple conversations from my neighbors in the apartment next to mine. Definitely over priced for the quality and also for having to deal with the manager. Most of the time if you leave the manager a voicemail she does not bother to call you back, nor will she even bother to respond to your emails. So 'open 7 days a week' is completely irrelevant when the manager doesn't even bother to contact you back. Definitely would not chose to live here again.
I lived at Northern Pines for one year and in one of the less expensive units. Besides the nice and quite neighborhood, I also have nothing but good experiences with the management. Whenever I had a question or needed to communicate, they were always quick to respond. They also have a couple nights that the office is open late, so it was really convenient to talk with someone! Maintenance came in a very timely manner and was very helpful! All of the appliances were pretty new and definitely taken care of. After living in a few different apartment complexes, I was sad to move to a new city and have to move out of this complex. I'm giving 4 out of 5 stars, because 3 of 5 should mean average. This complex definitely is above average, and the staff was very accommodating, whenever I needed help. There is always room for improvement, but I really had a great experience here! If you can afford a little bit higher price than other apartments in the area, I would definitely go with the complex. You will have quality units, appliances, and management.
These apartments and their staff are awful! Took months to get this issue resolved and it is a health risk to me and my family. There is mold in every room of my apartment and they gave me a broken dehumidifier to fix the problem! Not to mention the property manager if you can call her that threatens to evict anyone that sneezes the wrong way! Do NOT rent from this shady dump! Renter beware!
Property Manager at Northern Pines, Responded To This Review
As a reminder it is the residents responsibility to report any maintenance issues to management immediately! If there is mold In your unit we need to inspect immediately for the sake of all living in the building and to protect our property from further damage. Residents can be held liable for unreported damages. There has been nothing reported and we have never used a broken humidifier to solve a mold issue of any kind. Once again we expect our residents to comply with the lease they agreed to when they moved in for the safety of all living at the property and to keep it the beautiful place everyone deserves to live at. I am sorry you feel Northern Pines has not met your needs.
Please check out the many negative reviews before moving here! The apartments are okay, however I wouldn't call the dented garages and poor plowing luxury. This company is extremely unethical and it all comes from the management. They do not care about any of their tenants and view everyone as easily replaceable. Please please please for your families well being do not move here. Terrible experience.
Property Manager at Northern Pines, Responded To This Review
We very much value our residents as we wouldn't be the great place we are without them! We do however require our residents to abide by the lease agreement they signed when they moved in. I am sorry your opinion of our garages and plowing is unacceptable. Our office is open 7 days a week to address any issues that my arise regarding maintenance, grounds and common areas but if they are not reported and we are unaware we cannot address them. As of today I received no reports of dented garages or complaints of our snow removal. Please call the office to report these issues if they need to be addressed.
A friend of mine and I were looking for apartments around Green Bay to rent while we were going to school. We went to check out this place and we instantly put towards the top of our list. We decided to go ahead with the application process for an apartment, both of us meeting all the criteria that they had listed. After reviewing our applications, they kept coming up with issues on our applications. We complied to their issues and gave them any additional information they needed. The management continued to deny anything we gave to them, giving us no clear reason to why they were doing so. Each person we talked to just kept getting ruder and ruder to us, when we were just trying to understand their reasoning behind denying our applications. After a final very rude conversation over the phone with the property manager, which ended with her yelling over the phone, we have decided to continue our search elsewhere. We are just two quiet college kids who were looking for a nice quiet apartment to rent while we both work and go to school full time.
Property Manager at Northern Pines, Responded To This Review
Our rental criteria is exactly the same for everyone and is explained in great detail before anyone applies for a unit. We always provide a way to get a written response mailed to any applicant that is denied if they request that. Our Management would not yell to get their point across. I am sorry you didn't qualify, maybe you could try again when you may meet our rental criteria. We love to rent apartments and getting people in their new homes, that's our business!!
I moved into Northern Pines with a friend of mine a few months back and it wasn't anything special. It was a little pricey for the quality of living, but it is Green Bay so you can't expect much. The staff was very nice and helpful along with the maintenance. The biggest problem we had was noise complaints. We aren't very noisy at all if I am being totally honest but yet accumulated a number of complaints. The walls are like paper. You can hear people from certain areas clear as day. Would not recommend based on this alone. It made the space not enjoyable to live in.
We moved in a year ago and really love it! It's quiet. There is a workout facility that we would like to work out in more often LOL. The Clubhouse and Clubhouse Study Room are very nice. The management staff has been extremely nice also! We have no complaints.
Wondeful Manager and Best care for their attendents. Maintance is on top of all needs and the grounds are kept up with care. I have lived their for 5 years with my son and small dog. It has been a place we have called home. An a single mom its a blessing

Thank you so much for the wonderful review. We are blessed to have you as a resident and hope we do for a long time!!
My experience was good. The location is great because you're so close to the main highway, and are close to both green bay and Howard-suamico. Maintenance requests are completed within a few days. I have rented other places with noise problems and one great thing about northern pines is that I can't hear my neighbors at all. It is a little pricey since there were some creamy spots in the floors, outdated cupboards, and No linen closet and minimal bathroom cabinet space but overall my experience was good.
This is the first apartment I've lived in, and I can say I'm absolutely blown away by the place. I have heard horror-stories from my friends about terrible management, buildings in poor shape, etc, but Northern Pines (NP) has been nothing but amazing. PROS: On the outside, the buildings themselves give you the friendly neighborhood look, with clean siding and a large well-kept grassy area for picnics or playing outside. There is landscaping throughout the whole premises, and it is obvious that NP goes to great lengths to make sure you always see pleasing sights while outdoors. As for the inside: I live in an upper, which has high, vaulted ceilings. The walls are all textured and painted white. 2 skylights light up the apartment during the day so that you can wake up to natural light. The carpet was either very clean or new Berber. The unit I am in has a rather old dishwasher and stove in it, but the washer/dryer combo and fridge were new. Additionally, they had just replaced the cabinets, so there are no "musty apartment smells" in my cups/mugs. Being in an upper, I also have a gas fireplace, which is great at keeping the living room warm during the winter. Finally, the maintenance has greatly exceeded my expectations for an apartment. If you call with an issue, they are usually there to fix it THAT DAY or the next. In addition, the ongoing maintenance is great as well. They are constantly upgrading and replacing old parts of the building. For example, they are changing the roof and sunlights on my building without being asked. To me this just shows that they really care about the quality of their buildings and are not afraid of any costs associated with it. CONS: Every place will have its downfalls. As I stated before, the dishwasher and stove are quite old. I would have liked newer appliances just to really tie the place together as a new, modern apartment. They do set it back a bit. Another bit that I noticed was that the porch did not seem to be cleaned for a while when I moved in. There was a noticeable film of dirt/dust on the railings. It was easy for me to clean, so that wasn't too bad. The shower-head also had some mildew/other stuff built up on it, so I had to replace that. OVERALL: This is a great place to live, and it's only 10-15 mins from downtown Green Bay. You have your own garage. The management is superb. Overall this place really makes me want to live here for a long time.

Thank you sooooo much for this honest and positive review. We hope we continue to impress and keep you as a resident for along time!! We really appreciate your acknowledgement of all the work we have done and do stick into this property to make it home for everyone.
I've lived in several different apartments throughout Green Bay, and this one has been by far the best experience. The location is 2nd to none, offering quick/easy downtown access, several big & small box grocery, park, recreation, and eatery options within walking distance, and is less than 2 minutes away from I41, Highway 29, and I43, which gives you fast access to any other point of interest within the city, and an immediate start to any road trip out of it. The facilities are spacious, and incredibly affordable, allowing amenities not typically found within this pricerange, such as in-unit washer/dryer, fireplace, central air, 2 full bathrooms, skylights, and free 24-hour access to the onsite fitness center. Management has always been understanding, and the maintenance staff prompt, fixing each of the 3 problems I've had in my 5 years here, within 24 hours or less. I would recommend this apartment to anyone, and for someone in my out-of-college age range, i couldn't have lived anywhere better in the Green Bay area.
