Property Ratings at Northgate Village
I moved into an dirty apartment, smells like cigarettes and weed, had car air fresheners around the house when i moved in, i have mice about 5, the office doesn’t care, i have bugs, the complex is dirty, neighbors are rude, i use the laundry room i put my new white sheets in the dryer when i took it out someone left a crayon in the dryer and my sheets got messed up, 2 times i put the clothes in the washer and it stopped working in the middle of the wash and had to take the wet clothes out and move to another washer and repay it again, waste of time and money, do not move here it’s disgusting RAT INFESTED!
Don't move here, bldg 2 is infested with drugs. The neighbor upstairs smokes cigarettes and Marijuana, the guy on the side of me Marijuana, another guy use to sit on the porch in front of my apartment door smoking Marijuana, now he smokes it in his car in front of my door. It's a constant Marijuana smell all hours of the day and night. Mgnt. Does nothing, I was told to blame the government for making it legal. You can't sleep in bed, the bedroom faces the street. My furniture, belongings are damaged by this stuff. Heat is included, but I haven't had heat from Oct it is now January 2023. Almost a year of hell. 1st floor apartment closets are extremely cold. So having no heat I got sick twice. I moved in 3/18/2022, she's trying to old me accountable until April 1st. I have a heart issue she doesn't care, nor does these neighbors. The wheeze upstairs says it's legal. No consideration. I'm high every day. The two space heaters I brought to keep warm, is drying my sinuses and it makes the drugs worse just trying to breathe. Stay clear of this dump!!
I can’t wait for my lease to be done so I can get out of there. This place is full of stink bugs and insects and worst of all those big black roaches. Disgusting.

I am sorry to hear about the problems you have been experiencing. We strive to provide a pleasurable living experience to all of our residents. Please contact the office at (609)387-2475 so we can discuss this in further detail and get the issues resolved as soon as possible.
Initially everything looks pretty kosher. Upon living there for a while the truth eventually comes out. In the two bedroom apartments there's no air conditioner in the master bedroom, only in the second bedroom and living room so be prepared in the summer for the master bedroom to get insanely hot. The closet in the master bedroom is WEIRD, there's a partial wall in there so you have to shove all of your clothes back there and just realize you'll have to go swimming for them later it's insane. The paint on the walls is so thick, they don't sand anything down before painting it so there's just paint drips down all the walls, the paint also covers the railing going up the stairs and there's cracks in the ceilings. Nothing seems to be done properly or with any kind of efficiency before new tenants move in. We did have a dishwasher which was nice but if you don't put it on "heavy wash" it won't wash anything, it just throws food around and it gets stuck. The grout in the bathroom from the tile floor will come up. The maintenance men are absolutely fantastic, if anything ever happens they'll be there immediately. Our dishwasher leaked at one point and they fixed that. They replaced our air conditioner the same month we moved in because it stopped working. Our fridge has always had issues, it doesn't get as cold as it should, they have to come out all the time to put a new part in it to keep it cold. The air conditioners don't have a setting to turn off at a certain temperature so we can't keep them on during the day or our electric bill would be astronomical. They do send out notices in the spring that you can't be on your front porches, you can only walk to and from your car. so if you're a smoker get a downstairs apartment because the upstairs ones don't have balconies and they don't want you outside smoking which is inconvenient. The speed bumps are really BUMPS, so watch your car driving over them or you'll bottom out. Cathie in the office is nice. There was a meth lab that blew up a year or so ago which was interesting but other than that there really isn't any trouble that were aware of. The playground in the back is more for older kids so if you have younger ones don't bother, just take them to another local park. Getting out of the complex is INSANE, they need a traffic light there in the worst way. All in all they're asking way too much for what they don't offer and you can get more going somewhere else but it's not absolutely terrible. Good luck!

I am sorry that you are unhappy with the layout of your bedroom closet but we have no control over initial construction of the apartment closets. Thank you for complementing the maintenance staff as they do work very hard to maintain our community. The speed bumps were installed to slow our residents down from speeding through the community so I am happy to hear that they are working. We have recommended to the township that a traffic light should be installed but we unfortunately have not control over that getting done. We value your opinion and if you ever need anything that we can take care of please contact the office for assistance.

I just moved into Northgate Village August 4 and I love it. I'm only paying $895 a month with up-graded appliances. Free water, gas, heat, and trash removal. I'm only 15 minutes from work and am surrounded by stores. The neighbors are friendly and maintenance is efficient. I had them fix my heat and carbon monoxide alarm (which had a dying battery) last Friday. The only downsides I found is that the entrance to the complex needs a traffic light, the speed bumps could be fixed, and the doors and some of the walls are over-painted (I realize that is part of NJ regulation to repaint them once the tennant moves out).

Thank you for your review. We have mentioned to the township that a traffic light would be helpful unfortunately we have no control over having one put in.
