Property Ratings at Northpointe Apartments
Where does one even start. Paint needs focus, the laundry room is full most of the time, some of the washers don’t even wash, the strong smell of a certain paraphernalia lingers into your apartment even when you don’t smoke, cops in the parking lot or close by every day/night. And the roaches…Every. Night. Since I moved in, literally. It got to a point to where I was use to seeing them. That’s not normal. Don’t even get me started about the time my car was broken into and stolen (luckily it was found). The office personnel could care less. They’re just there to get paid and collect rent. “Here to pay rent?” Was how I was greeted whenever I went in there. I was so happy to finally move out when I could afford a newer, better place. Only stay here as a last resort
Rent goes up with each new yearly lease but no maintenance is done on the outside of the buildings. I've been here 7 years and the buildings have never been painted. There are holes in the stucco everywhere. This year my rent is going up 20% which is a $160/month increase and I live alone. The only nice thing here are the grounds but even they are deteriorating. It's sad really. I don't want to move but they are practically forcing me out and I'm a great tenant! Never once been late with rent in 7 years. I've not had any problems with roaches either. There have been issues with the pool all season and it's never clean. The maintenance guys can't be bothered to spend 10 minutes in the morning skimming the surface. And you have to ask them to unlock the chain around the gate when the pool is supposed to be open. I won't even get started on the ladies in the office
My husband and I finally decided to move into our very own place back in July of last year. I wish I would've done my homework beforehand! They started construction right outside of the apartments about three weeks ago and the construction crew comes at 7am but begin work sometimes at 6:30 AM... did I mention they put a noise notice on our door 3 days AFTER they started construction to tell us they were going to be fixing the sidewalk? Some of the things in the apartment have broken already, and when you call they say they'll get someone up that same day but they wait 2-3 days and then come and fix it. THE BUGS. Our first night in our apartment, we saw a roach but thought nothing of it, killed it and moved on. The more we made ourselves comfortable in our apartment, the more that seemed to bring them out. It was seeing a roach every other day, but then one turned into 2-3 turned into 5-6 A DAY. We keep a nice and tidy apartment, so it really began to bother us. I spoke to Carol at the front desk and they said that they would add our unit to spray and the exterminator never came, even after I took a day off work to make sure the apartment was sprayed. We set traps out and have caught multiple bugs, one of the roaches even had babies on the trap and they all got caught in it thankfully, but the bug issue is driving me insane. I am afraid to be in my own apartment because I cannot mentally handle the bugs anymore. We have 6 months left on the lease and I cannot wait to move out. I would rather pay extra anywhere else than have to do deal with broken appliances, loud neighbors that threaten each other in the middle of the night and the BUGS. Do not move here! Take your hard earned money somewhere else!
Don't be glamoured by the fresh paint, this place is more trouble than it's worth. PARKINGS NOT ASSIGNED, you get a hangar that allows you to be in the covered area but nothing is promised. THE POOL LACKS A BATHROOM, yeah... think about that when you see those nasty kids splashing around. NO HOT TUB IN THE WINTER, the whole pool spa area is chained up after labor day. PAY DOUBLE FOR LAUNDRY since the washing machines in the launry area are half the normal size, the dryers are regular though. NO ONLINE RENT PAYMENTS, personal or cashiers check only. EVERYTHING HAS A 99 CENT COAT OF PAINT ON IT, I'm talking the outlets, the switches, the counter, bathtub, even the fridge. THEY MOW AND LEAF BLOW BEFORE 8AM every monday. The grass is patchy at best. WSG BILLED THIRD PARTY, and if you pay debit theres a convenience charge. They even solicit in the office saying they use... and you should too...you can use whatever renter insurance /internet service you want. SECURITY... what a joke. I've only seen security on the property a handful of times, and I'm talking less than 10 times in the past 6 months. I will credit the office for scheduling them on big holidays though. With no gate people can come and go as they please. If you do decide to move in here anyway, do yourself a favor and do a very detailed, and aware walk through of your new place, notice the tile and so forth dont match their staged unit. THE GOOD THINGS about living here are work orders get done quick, not too many bugs, and the cops only roll by every week or so......
Not true, This is a dumb. This must be the building managers writing this stuff. Stay away it's full of roaches. Must of the residents are well you figure it out. They will lease to anyone just to fill the building up. It's a mess and the city should abandon the building. Move in at your own risk!!
A dumb of building!! They just let anyone move in. No washers and dryers and the rent goes up every time your lease comes to an end. There is no assigned parking. However, the Janitors were nice.
This place is infested with bedbugs, don't move in
I only moved here originally (2015) because it was close to my mother's house so I assumed the neighborhood was okay, allowed pit bulls and was pretty cheap (at first). The neighborhood is horrible. Many people had been shot/shot at and there was at least one death in the street while I lived there, causing the whole street to be blocked off. I extended my year lease by 6 months, and I have been out of there since December 2016. Management changed some time during my first year there, and apparently they or the old management do not keep up with paperwork. They tried to charge me for a bunch of things that I reported to original management upon moving out. They couldn't find the paperwork stating I paid the pet deposit in full. I moved out of state, so my parents handled dealing with them because the final math was wrong anyway, but it still came out to me owing them ~$315. We decided to just take the loss in order to be done with them. That was paid back in April, but Northpointe still put my account in collections in May. My stepdad still has the receipts and was told by an employee that he needs to take that up with the collections, but the point is it should have never been put in collections in the first place!! They do not want anyone talking to corporate, but my stepdad still found the number and when I spoke to corporate myself, the regional manager was very rude and kept trying to cut me off and assume she knew what I was talking about, when she didn't. She was just trying to take up for the terrible staff they have employed. She tried to say that they can put my account into collections 30 days after I moved out, but that would have been in January. They couldn't even tell me how much I owed until April!! And it was paid right then, so why a month later (& 5 months after my move out date) was my account placed in collections? No one could tell me anything. I would have at least understood if they used the original, incorrect amount after I moved out, but they took our money and still placed me in collections. After many phone calls and google searches, they finally fixed it. But they are horribleeeee, money hungry people. & the apartments themselves aren't even that nice, and the big problem is horrendous. Even with me deep cleaning my house every couple of days and always putting my name on the very long waiting list to have my apartment sprayed, I still couldn't get rid of the bugs. I would not recommend even my worst enemy staying here.
They had a great move special when I came in. It was very fast and easy! However, once the summer came so did the bugs. They had a guy come every Friday we had to be on a long waiting list to stop by and spray! It was so bad I couldn't get out quick enough! It never got rid of bugs. They change property managers and staff. We thought thang we're going to get better. Oh no they just moved up the Rent. I would not recommend move here! Unless you're extremely desperate you don't mind live with bugs!
This is a great property with lots of grass and trees. Maintenance does work orders quickly and efficiently. The office staff is fantastic and very helpful. They have a nice fitness center with sauna. Pool is nice and gets cleaned regularly. They also have security that is here over night.
