Located in central Connecticut, this neighborhood of homes and rentals sits midway between Hartford to the north and New Haven to the south, a 30-minute commute in both directions via highway or the Amtrak rail system. History buffs love the number of National Register of Historical Places in this town, including the former Meriden Curtain Fixture Company factory, a sprawling red brick building converted into the Charles Street Place Apartments.
Outdoor spaces also hold historical landmark status, such as the world-renowned 1,800-acre Hubbard Park from the designers of New York's Central Park. Meriden provides 24 municipal parks, one of the top 10 public golf courses in Connecticut, and three dedicated trails for hiking, biking, and running.
Residents gather at the award-winning Ted's Restaurant, an area staple for over 50 years and home to the first steamed cheeseburger.

Property Ratings at Northridge Commons
Honestly I think we lucked out with our location. We are on the top floor the 3rd with a small balcony at the back of the building. Neighbors are quiet everyone keeps to themselves. Worst part of our apartment is we cannot have an ac unit in main living area forcing fans to blow air from the hallway. Maintenance is always quick to happen. I see us staying here until we get a house assuming they don't raise the rent again.
When my Wife and I first moved into this apartment building things were great, I love the location and the apartment itself was nice and the staff was terrific. The property manager (Tina) when we first moved in was great and seemed to care about the look and told us she has a very strong noise policy. Sadly Tina left and was replaced my a new property manager. While the new manager is nice the overall feeling of the building has changed. The kind of cars in the parking lot have gotten worse, music can be heard from the cars and apartments at all times of the day. Nothing has been done about the noise and it just seems to get worse, there is also a new tenant who parks his car pointing towards peoples windows and blasts his music with his lights on for hours on end. The quality of tenants is worsening and I myself will be moving out when my lease expires. What was once a place I'd recommend to friends and family now has trash overflowing from dumpsters and recycle buckets that never seem to empty. If you consider renting from here be aware that things are getting much worse, if you like loud noise and neighbors who have no care in the world about other people than this is the place for you.
I saw an ad for a 2 bedroom apartment an Northridge Commons and called the number. The apartment should not be listed as a 2 bedroom but as a one bedroom with a small office. What was supposed to be the second bedroom was so small that only a twin bed by itself would of fit there. The apartment was also dirty and not kept well. If you are going to show an apartment you have to make sure the place is clean before showing it.
These apartments are very homey...They have high ceilings, great size rooms and there maintenance staff is wonderful! I would definitely recommend these to a friend.
