Rochester Hills is a fairly large suburban community roughly forty minutes north of Detroit. The city enjoys an exceptionally low crime rate, and the public schools earn excellent ratings. Large nature preserves like Bloomer Park give residents ample opportunities for sports, hiking, and biking. Oakland University on the west side of town is also full of great venues for folks to get outside and enjoy some fresh air, including Sharf Golf Course and Meadow Brook Amphitheatre. The close proximity to Detroit makes it easy for folks to get into the larger city for work or leisure.

Property Ratings at Northridge
My boyfriend and I have been living here for a year and a half and it has been nothing but horrible. There is a tremendous bug issue and they charge $5.75 per load of laundry that doesn’t even dry your clothes all the way. Our bedroom carpet got flooded and we have been living with BLACK MOLD and they have done nothing about it. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
Northridge Apartments are one of the best places I have lived in. We moved here 8 months ago, and we absolutely love it here. The people in the leasing office are so efficient, any time we had a problem, it was taken care of within 12 hours. The community itself is kept so neat, after Spring all the leaves were taken care of, and after harsh snow days, they made sure that the snow is all cleared off. The holiday events are soo amazing, the food, the activities, they are all suitable for all ages. And every time we came here we were able to make new friends! And also the contests and the gifts.. it is all very amazing! Also, the leasing office has such amazing cookies all the time available for the residents. If I could, I would live here forever! ??
Living and loving here since 2017! Very caring management and great response time! Love the warmth shared by the management! It’s great to get invited for frequent brunch / lunch and dinner on several occasions! Great place indeed!
I moved into the apartment a month ago, and so far I am totally loving it. When I came to see the apartment for the first time, I saw my 1bed unit and totally loved the floor plan, the hardwood floors and the French window that opens up to the patio. On the spot , I applied for the apartment, moved in within 2 days. They had good management , 24 hour maintenance, parking spaces , pin coded doors and beautiful community. They really care about their residents. I would recommend the apartment a one hundred percent! So glad to be a part of the Singh Community.
What a blessing to find an affordable apartment in Rochester Hills. I have been living here at Northridge for almost a year and I am getting ready to resign my lease. Not only do we have two spacious bedrooms but plenty of extra storage space, in our laundry room and by our kitchen, that has made storing our holiday decorations a breeze. When we have gone into the leasing office we are always greeted and offered refreshments by the women there. Debbie is always willing to help whenever we have had questions and even greets me by my first name. Thank you Northridge for offering an affordable option to familys without having to forgo square footage.
I have lived here going on 9 years, and I will renew my lease here every time! The maintenance staff is a 10! The office staff goes beyond for me and my family every time, very approachable and even stayed late for me a few times when needed. The school district is the best here, and the bus stops are plenty throughout the property here. The negative comments on here are just the people who moved out on bad terms, this is a great place to live with your family and there are quite a few friends we have made since the staff throws great parties in the summer and through all the holidays! Best apartments in Rochester Hills by far!!
I love the staff the manger Purena is a great I have lived in Northridge for 7 years now the schools are great for your children the area is nice I have good neighbors but one of my neighbors have small kids so they do make noise all times threw the night but I did speak to them about that it's been going on couple yrs now but so far so good the staff helps you our for any question and I have a small dog she even have a best friend dog a neighbor couple houses down but this place is a great place to live it's all what you make it I see lots of different reviews but this place is great and you and your family would be happy or single person a student you would be happy love it here
I rented a 2 bedroom apartment at Northridge for 19 months and it was the most stressful experience. The environment around the apartment was horrible including a young kid dealing drugs right by my car in day light but believe it or not living in fear that I could be shot by a drive by was not the worst experience in this complex. My complex allowed a painter to enter my apartment without my knowledge and this individual while in my apartment left his bodily fluids all over my bathroom. I also have a small dog that was loose when he came in so I have no idea how he treated my dog when entering. At first I thought okay they made a mistake and I just need to get over it but when they entered my apartment a second time without my permission I went to the property manager and the regional manager. Best word to describe both of theses ladies is "negligent". They are the most shady women I have ever met in my life. Both were incredibly insincere to my issues and very dismissive. They decided that they could make everything better with an orchid plant, meanwhile I came into an apartment everyday wondering if someone had been inside while I was gone and for a single female this was a horrible feeling.
We lived here for 3 years and only moved out because we bought a house. Our 3 years were trouble free. Any maintenance issues were resolved quickly! We loved having covered parking. Our particular unit was a 2 bed/2 full bath with a vaulted ceiling and a fireplace. The space was great. The roads were just repaved and are very smooth. I would recommend Northridge to anyone looking for a quiet neighborhood close to downtown rochester! Also, great office staff, especially the manager!
This place has a terrible management. DO NOT RENT THERE. You will definitely have difficulties in communicating. The corporate office would not solve any of your problem and will turn you back to the leasing office. The site manager of this community is very abusive and opportunist. I rented a unit there and when I wanted to terminate my lease, site manager did her best to take as money as possible. She was very mean and so confident you can't do anything against her. BE VERY CAREFUL. This place is terrible to live on. The buildings are so old and you will smell it. They only show you the model units so you have no idea of the unit until you sign the contract. I truly suffered from noise coming from upstairs due the fact that the building is old and there is not enough sound isolation back in the time. I couldn't have a night with comfort sleep. In addition, this community is too dark in the nights. They don't have any lighting except under parking shelters. That makes the community too unsafe in the evenings. The maintenance is another issue. They claims all maintenance will be addressed within 48 hours which is a lie. It takes at least 1 week to someone show up or call you regards your request. My apartment was unclean when I got it and it took me 1.5 months to finally someone come and clean it. Every time I took any problem to the leasing office they played mainly via site manager. If you wanted to escalate it then you have to talk to property manager which she is never available to talk. It means your problem would be pending forever. The contract terms are so against you, you technically can't find anything in your favor. I can't do more to warn you about this place.
I know every apartment has some issues, but this apartment is just not worth at all. I can afford the highest rent in this area,I just want to live in a safe and good place. But this apartment is very very bad. Even worth than the much cheaper community: fragile interior stuff, kinds of bugs and package theft, etc. What's worse, the officers in the office are very rude and unresponsible. Every time I went there, all of them stay in a small room chatting and laughing. I almost yield at the door, just no response. Even though I don't care about the rent, I want to get the return which is worth the money. Stay away from this place. Don't be fooled by the terrible officers in the office.
Purrine has been exceptional. she has never let me down when I've had things that needed repaired. She listens and goes out of her way to make Northridge anyone would want to live. the best part is her kindness , true blue genuine and her truly caring about the tenants here at Northridge. Last but not least, all the maintenance men are 5 stars with 5 being the best. they all work hard, very professional. Iam so grateful to live here and appreciative. It was important to share!! Nicole
Spacious hall and dining with individual entrance to each unit. All upgraded appliances and carports so close to apartment which is convenient for MI weather. The best thing is the staff who have a smile on their face and willingness to help you. Love staying at this place.
Spacious apartments with good storage and all upgraded appliances. Location can' b better than this. The best part is staff, who always have a smile and willingness to help .
We have lived here for nine years. If this were not a great place to live we would have moved long ago.
I absolutely LOVE Northridge Apartments. The front office staff and maintenance crew have been wonderful to work with. The few maintenance items that I had were handled very quickly, and efficiently. The grounds are beautiful, and they are going through a major renovation (I've got all new appliances, carpet, cabinets, flooring, etc!!), Wood trim on all the buildings has been replaced and repainted, and the parking lot was just sealed. It looks BRAND NEW!!! The location is also excellent! Very close to my office in Auburn Hills, Easy access to a wide network of walking/bike trails (Macomb/Orchard Trail, Paint Creek Trail, Clinton River Trail, etc). I am even able to walk to downtown Rochester and enjoy the wonderful community. Very easy access to major expressways (M-59 and I-75) allows me to drive to Livonia, Detroit and Port Huron all under an hour (depending on traffic of course). I couldn't be happier with my new home!
I currently live in Northridge apartments, and I am 100% happy with them. I've lived here for about 2 years, and have seen the old staff versus the new staff and I must say...smart move. The new staff is so much friendlier and competent. They've been so helpful. I live on the first floor, and you would imagine it would be noisy... but that's not the case. My neighbors are quiet and respectful. Northridge has quiet hours beginning at 9PM and I've never had an issue. I love how spacious and open my apartment is... it really feels like a home to me and my cat Sassy. Oh! They're pet friendly... how awesome is that? As for appliances, they may not be the newest on the market but they're in great shape. I highly suggest you see for yourself. Keep in mind they have a new staff, so all these reviews about their staff is incorrect. Go see Princess if you're looking for a kind hearted and honest leasing agent.
Worst staff ever, they will lure you into leasing the apartments which are fairly ok except for the old and power hungry appliances. Then they will start encashing every opportunity they get to extract 100 / 200 bucks from you. The staff lies all the time and you wont see the same person in their officesagain - every time, there is a new person who basically claims to know nothing and is quite rude. So if you ever end up staying here, keep another 100 bucks each month ready for their charges / fees which keep showing up on the bills. Only good points are nice floor plans and quick maintenance but at the cost of 'peace of mind'.
My family lived in this community for just over 2 years. Had we known beforehand what those 2 years would be like, we never would've moved in, but my in-laws found this place for us when we were living out of state and didn't have the opportunity to find a home ourselves. Our townhouse was one of the nicest units they have, but even with the upgrades (new appliances, tile and carpet), it was outdated and overpriced. To name a few examples: the fixtures were old, the blinds were fragile, the walls were thin, the floors weren't level, and the shelving was weak, The management staff was incompetent and they lied to us repeatedly. Don't trust them.
This is a very nice area to live in, the people are very nice in the complex , and in the area of Rochester Hills.
I have lived at Northridge for a year (2-bed/2-bath) and will definitely move on. Pros: 1.Grounds are relatively quiet and kept-up, the majority of the apartments are vacant. Cons: 1. Price per square foot is very high. 2. Office staff are unresponsive to maintenance requests are generally lie to you. 3. Building was built in the early 80's and the condition and appliances reflect it; very poor.
We have lived here since March 2012. We like the layout of our two bedroom, two bathroom apartment. We like the quietness and peacefulness of the community. Our neighbors who live close by are nice and respect privacy. The Office Staff Members are nice, respectful and helpful. Maintenance Staff is also nice, take care of business and arrive in a timely manner. There is some ground work that needs to be taken care of and hopefully it will be done this year. We would recommended this community to others.
I have lived at Northridge for quite some time and have seen it all. Overall the apartment community itself has proved to be a safe and comfortable place for my family to settle down. The schools are great and being close to downtown Rochester is a plus because there's always something to do! The landscaping is always gleaming in the spring and summer months, while the snow removal process could use some improvements. The maintenance staff is pretty good and responsive and the office staff is not as terrible as the others say. Myself and many of the neighbors I have had throughout the years have had pleasant experiences with the office and maintenance staff. The management company did increase the rents this year largely, but the value is still at Northridge. I say give them a chance, you may find yourself satisfied!!
I lived at Northridge for about a year, and had to leave because the rent prices went up considerably due to the corporate office. I was very happy with the management staff, especially the manager who always seemed to go above and beyond to make sure the residents were happy. I remember when I was moving in, my Dad and I were trying to move a couch up to the apartment (second floor), and she didn't hesitate to jump right in when she saw me struggling. Overall, the community is SAFE and quiet, which I really appreciated, and it's great being in the middle of a ton of shopping centers and stores! There's also a wonderful bike trail for runners/bikers/walkers that I miss having access to since moving.
I lived here for six years. Pros: Great location in Rochester Hills. The apartment plans are good. Lot of storage space. Cons: Old building. Weak insulation. Hence heating bill is very high in winter. Appliances are old. The office staff is the worst I have ever seen.. They all lie all the time, right down from the manager, totally ignorant of the system, and some of them are very rude. The maintenance staff is ok. I moved out of the apartment couple of months back, returned in good condition, absolutely no damages. The maintenance staff and I did a walk through and ever thing was ok. The management sent a letter saying the security deposit will be refunded within 30 days after I moved out. Now it's about 50 days since I moved out, I'm yet to see the refund check. I have made umpteen calls reminding the management of the same, yet they are careless. All I got was lies including from the manager. Whoever I talked too in the office gave a different answer as to when the check was mailed, and there was no consistency in either's date. The manager mentioned the check should reach me by the end of the week two weeks back. I did not get anything. I called again the Monday after that weekend. Some other guy who I spoke too said it will be mailed that day and I should have the check within couple of days. As of today I have received nothing. I even called their higher management to complain. So far no reply. I will not recommend anyone to move into this apartment purely based on the services that the dumb staff provides. It's not worth the money. I'm giving 2 stars for Northridge apartments purely based on the pros I mentioned above.
Hands down the worst apartment complex made. Office staff is rude and lie to get you to sign. They do not give all the details until you come and sign. I would stay away from this place.
This apartment is not as good as they claim. Slow in response and change front door key without proper communication. Lock me outside.....not recommend....
