Property Ratings at Madison Northridge
The only good thing about this apartment is the location. The apartment was old and the A/C in my previous apartment was so loud and wall insulation was a joke. I asked them to check the A/C and they said it was how it worked. My electric bills during winter 2021 were almost $300 for 900sq apartment and the apartment was still super cold with A/C temp around 67-68 in winter. We had our AC around 78-80 in the summer and still pay around $120. Like if the temp out side drop or increase you would feel it within couple hours. The mailbox was broken for couple months and I had to go to the post office to get mails since they could not deliver them. Water shutoff happened 3 times a week. Poop was everywhere and the pool was mostly dirty.

I do not recommend these apartments to anyone. They are old and the renovations consist of painting over problems. The water was shut off minimum of once per week, sometimes more and often for the entire day. The apology was "sorry for the inconvenience" every single time. The gym was closed for over 3 months. The pool was closed right as the temperatures became sweltering for renovations (why not do this when it was too cold to use the pool anyways?) Valet trash hardly came, and you will pay $30/month for it. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.

These apartments are priced per month what the average median rent should be legally priced in Austin and in Pflugerville, Texas. These apartments are kept clean, the grounds are clean and the office staff is professional and courteous.

Part 1: So when I was moving here from CO, I decided on Northstar after looking at a few other places because the pool looked nice & I liked the apartment. After giving a verbal confirmation from someone on site, I never heard back from them for a couple of weeks. I was supposed to move down on the 13th of Jan'21 & move in on the 14th. After a few weeks of trying, I did not reach anyone until the Jan 12. I signed my lease, got the electricity set up, & got my renters insurance set up that day (basically doing everything that I needed to do on my end). At EOD on the 13th while I was driving to Texas with all of my belongings, I was told that I could not move into my apartment until the following week. I was flexible. I moved in on the 21st & that following weekend (22 to 23) the water was out while they did repairs. On the 26th, I put in a request to get my leaking water heater fixed. Maintenance came out on the 27th & said that they needed their boss's approval before getting it replaced. A couple of days went by & they marked it complete w/ no work in their internal system which notified me. A couple of days went by & it still was leaking. I sent an email to the leasing office on Feb9 about when my hot water heater was going to be fixed. The next day the supervisor shows up & acts like it is the first time hearing of it & says it needs to be replaced. They show up two days later with the hot water heater, BUT they were missing a part. They showed up the next day (13) with the part. For the first time since moving in, I got hot water for exactly 2days before the TX winter storm of '21 took the water offline.

On October 2nd I went to my laundry/storage room outside and opened the doors and everything was soaking wet and covered in mold. I called the emergency maintenance number and left 2 voicemails, since it was past office hours and did not receive a call back. I then went into the office the following day and was told that there was a water issue with my whole building and they are working on fixing it. (Since then no one has come out to my apartment to look at the mold and see if it is in my walls) Yesterday night I walks into my bedroom closet and noticed that my carpet was wet. I touched all the bags I had in my closet and everything was wet. I called and spoke with someone and he said he was offsite and gave me the maintenance number and said someone should respond within a half hour of me calling, no one did. It is about 11:00 and I did not receive a call or a knock on my door, so I went into the office to see how this is going to be handled and all I got was "we will be by soon". No on has even looked at anything wrong,

I moved in earlier this week i was taken on a tour by apartment experts and i had 4 property to view that Saturday and i needed something fast my first stop was Here @ North star apartments i was first and initially looking for a one bedroom let me say the moment i walked into that office the leasing Consultants Attitude was just amazing and she kept that great attitude the entire time i was there. i ended renting a 2 bedroom initially looking for a 1 bedroom what can i say she was so sweet and i didn't think twice about touring other locations she locked me in and the move went great i moved in the next day i applied. My move in was fast quick and i only had one problem with my garbage disposal and maintenance came right away to fix the problem. I even got a call from the property manager that my packages arrived Thank you Billie And Danielle my move couldn't have gone any smoother an worry free. Moving across the country and being able to find a home within 2 days! This is the place to come !
I do not recommend this apartments, everything is so old and the manager is so rude and resist to communicate with you even if you are right. You can wake up in the morning and see you car hit by another car infront of your apartment, and when you tell this to the office, they don't even care. Our dish washer is not cleaning the dishes and we tell this to office for months, and we still wait for it to be fixed. An office worker lost our renewal policy, so we had to pay more than we needed to pay. She was playing a card game on her computer, and I think she should've been taking care of my problem instead of having fun in the office. They didn't take responsibility for it, instead the manager told us the office worker was fired and we are free to leave without paying penalty. Long story short, when you face a problem it takes days for them to fix it and it makes you feel aggrieved.
The appliances you'll have are from the 80s at best. The office staff isn't helpful at all. I paid to have a washer/dryer in my unit and there were several times it was broken with them failing to fix it for weeks. My charge wasn't lowered at all those months either. A few times they undercharged me rent then went back and bumped my bill up to cover their mistakes. Then when I asked them about it staff got rude and blamed me for not noticing when it happened. Worst customer service I've experienced in Austin.
This apartment complex is bikeable to kramer station and is right on the 1 busline. I am a cycling commuter, and the Broadmoor gives me a location that is within 2 miles of the Domain where I work and less than 2 miles to an HEB and a Whole Foods, with great access to downtown through the rail on weekends. The rent is actually quite reasonable, and the management staff are awesome. If you are looking for a apartment location that is bikeable and inexpensive in north Austin, this is it.
All in all, I'm quite happy here. I'm in an apartment that faces a fence so parking is never hard for me, BUT it's also the course of my biggest complaint. There's a red car with one now-flat tire that has been taking up two parking spots for 3 months now. No matter what I do, the management is refusing to get the car towed. I also don't like that there's only one exit and most folks appear to think they should be in the middle of the exit side when there is indeed room for 2 cars if the person would just pick a side. Aside from that, though, I like this place - when I open a ticket, it is done quickly, and the property is nice & quiet. Right across the street from ACC Northridge so some younger residents, but older folks here as well. Nice mix that includes families and singles. Being midway between Mo-Pac & 35 is pretty awesome, as is the easy access to major north-south byways like Lamar & Burnet, and there are plenty of good high-tech jobs in a 5-mile radius.
