Property Ratings at Northwoods Apartments
Broken A/C it is 80 degrees in the apartment every night. Even with an infant, they say a broken A/C is not an emergency. After calling and leaving several messages over the span of 2 to 3 weeks, I have received no return calls or any sort of update. When I finally get ahold of someone in the office, she is rude and not helpful. I would recommend living in a cardboard box over this terrible apartment complex. Fire your office staff, they are worthless. Fix A/C Communication is a must with tenants

We apologize for the delay on getting to your work order as there were different factors detaining the execution. Maintenance installed a new air conditioning unit yesterday on June 29th and was functioning properly after testing everything prior to them leaving the apartment. Please stop by the office so we can address other matter you may have.
It took 10 months to get my AC fixed. Over and over again I was lied to about when this issue would be fixed. I finally had to file a complaint with the city of Columbus. Carlton Equities, who owns this property, does not care. There have also been multiple cars broken into or stolen at this property including the Property manager. Don't rent here.

We apologize for the delay in fixing your AC and any inconvenience this may have caused. We take all feedback seriously and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We will continue to work towards resolving any issues and providing a comfortable living experience for our residents.
A/C requests should be treated with high priority but it appears that is not happening here. My A/C has not worked since I moved in over a month ago. The inside of my apartment is getting close to 90 degrees and running fans in every room does not help. I have put in multiple requests, and have been told the A/C has to be replaced, but that has not happened. If there is an abundance of A/C requests, maybe more maintenance technicians should be contracted so that requests may be addressed in a timely manner. To the management team at Northwoods: Either fix my A/C ASAP, provide me with extra fans or a portable A/C unit, or give me a rent credit so that I can buy the portable A/C myself.

We are sorry that you feel this way towards our community. Our management and maintenance teams strive to ensure that our residents are provided with the best customer service and living experience. Please refer to your phone conversation held with management. Thank you!
Honestly, when we first decided to move in last year we were excited about the idea of living amongst so many trees and having the option to paint over our walls As well as having access to certain amenities however, (though there has been a recent change in property management) We’ve had countless maintenance issues from our extremely old thermostat to the leaking faucet in each bathroom, barely working washer and dryer, drawers caving in etc. you have to pay unnecessary amounts of money in addition to the already high and expensive rent for accessible parking and when I first moved in I was already midway into my pregnancy and halfway through the lease there was an abundance of cars taking up all the parking near our building and we had to park on the other side of the complex to even find a spot and walk the rest of the way to our apartment. Our blinds are extremely old to our balcony I can tell because it looks as though someone attempted to tape them and reinstall them as if they were brand new our balcony screen door completely fell off, and most recently our secured buildings failed us when we needed our packages protected and someone stole our baby swing right out of the box. We’ve been waiting for months just for the pool to get open and it is now nearing the end of June and we keep Getting told that the pool will open and weeks later still it is closed, everything is so expensive and I don’t understand why there isn’t much to show for it in our workout room, I mean they make everything look nice on paper but in reality once you’re moved in you realize that you’ve been scammed. I also don’t like the fact that they make you put in a 60 day notice before leaving the premises, normally I wouldn’t care however due to Covid I and my fiancé weren’t able to put in our two month notice and they weren’t willing to work with us so that we could move out and now we have to pay for an additional month to stay in an apartment we were already prepared to leave. I will say that management has always been polite however previous maintenance men have been quite rude and lazy, and we’ve had to request for them to come back again and again to fix the same crap over and over again it’s honestly pointless unless they’ve hired a whole new maintenance staff. This place had potential but didn’t quite live up to it’s price.

No heat, no A/C. Appliances have issues. Asking them to fix something is a waste of breath.

I’ve lived here for 2 years and have loved it...especially the dog park!! The new office and maintenance staff are awesome!! You can really tell that they care and want to make the community even better.
The people in the front office are so kind and easy to work with. All of our neighbors have been so friendly since we moved in. The maintenance people are also very kind and get things done quickly. Living at Northwoods has been a great experience. The only bad part of living here is the traffic on 23 most of the time.
Northwoods is a wonderful complex to live in. It's in a great location, close enough to 270 and Polaris area, but the property itself is secluded so it feels like you are far away from the hustle and bustle. The residents here are nice and respectful. It is a very quiet property. I have not had many issues with my apartment, but on the off occasion that I do, the front office takes care of it quickly. Maintenance is amazing and they are really nice to my dog when they have to come in! Very dog friendly area as well, with a fenced in dog park. I have lived here a little over a year, my lease isn't up for another 3 months but I went ahead and renewed for another year because I enjoy this complex and this location that much. Great place to live!
My husband and I have lived here over a year and just renewed our lease. We ourselves have had zero issues with the staff! The only complaints I’ve had was about other residents or issues the office did not cause. Kyle is great!! If you tell Jessica anything she is on top of it! These are from my personal experiences. Things happen everywhere and some can’t be helped. I don’t have anything negative to say about the complex! They have been great to us and are very sweet to my dogs when they see them or come in!
Being a server and a first time renter i was a little nervous about the application and acceptance process, but with Kyle's help everything went smoothly and i was able to move in to my apartment asap. Kyle was always available via phone/text to answer any of my questions and address all of my concerns. My apartment was freshly painted, with new carpet and appliances included. Although, i am not so happy with the mandatory bundled cable/internet/utilities package, The community is great with tanning, a gym, a pool, sand volleyball, and tennis courts! It seems like all my neighbors have dogs, so the onsite dog park sure does come in handy. I can't wait to get a pup of my own!! We are very close to the Polaris Shopping center! After spending a month in my "first" apartment, i am very pleased that i chose the Northwoods apartments
This is my 3 time living here my daughter and I have lived here for almost 2 years now and Sara has really been a joy to work with I needed to downsize in the middle of my lease she worked with me and helped me get on the first floor due to health reasons. She is making sure this transition goes smoothly. Thank you Sara for everything you and your staff have done for me.
Overall, a good, safe place to live. Staff is really friendly and take interest in making sure all your needs are accommodated. Only downside is the first billing utilities.. more expensive than I thought going in.
Love the friendly staff at Northwoods. Yumiko was very patient and listened to everything I needed in my new place. It has been a joy to call Northwoods my home.
I'm so grateful that PJ was so professional and smiling when he attended to my stupid sink...of course it's stupid, cause I got something stuck in it (unknowingly). THANK YOU...FOR FIXING IT AND FOR THE SMILES. Truly appreciate your time and effort!
During my tenure at Northwoods, I was pretty happy with the complex. The front office was always - and I mean always - exceptionally easy to deal with. The maintenance team was tremendous and always responded in a timely fashion (one day responses). I was impressed with these items. Whenever I brought my pups around the office folks, they were always welcomed. My main reason for moving out was due to purchasing a house. Otherwise, I would have not issue staying at Northwoods. The office also responded well to complaints (not my own). By that, I mean there was an issue with dog owners picking up their pup's mess. The office responded with supplying stations that contained a trash bin and poop bags. This helped greatly. Around that, I would suggest the office offer up positive reinforcement for current dog owners. I.e. if someone can that an owner did not pick up their dog's poo, the catcher of the crime gets a certain amount of money off of rent the next month. This is not a complaint but an observation: the utilities felt overpriced. I knew that going into my arrangement, so I cannot dock one star on my review. However, I would offer one suggestion: lower the cost of the bundled utilities. This package, on top of separate utilities and electric bills, adds quite a bit of expense to the monthly cost of living. Fit the bundle cost relevant to the cost of rent would be my suggestion. Although they sign a contract, many tenants are not happy with the bundle cost. My apartment had a log-burning fireplace. The chute was clean and logs burned well. The balcony faced a tree line and was quite. I was on the second-floor as well, if that helps paint a better picture. As for the extras, the pool was always well-kept, the workout room was decent as well as the tennis courts. The workout room is either poorly insulated or does not have A/C or heating, so be prepared to have the inside temperature come close to the outside temperature - during summer, it tends to be hotter in the workout room. My suggestion: get the workout room at a comfortable temperature year-round. My apartment was not upgraded, though I anticipated it would be during the earlier half of 2018. I did have fairly new appliances which appeared to be 2-3 years old upon moving in February of 2017. Thanks for everything. I'll have no problem referring people to Northwoods :)
Great place. Safe neighborhood. Very nice staff and people. Whenever had a maintence issue, they were always able to fix it within 24 hours. Worked with us to find a fair price.
Very easy to work with during the move in process. Worked through any issues I had in a professional manner and made the moving process as smooth as possible.
Very nice, professional staff and awesome spacious apartments. They are well kept up. I like that the washer and dryer comes with the apartment and the amenities of a pool and weight room.
i just moved in & i already love the place, the people is great all around amazing place to live
staff is so friendly & wonderful!!! its pet friendly.. the community is very friendly great calm place to live!!
We just renewed our lease with Northwoods. Only because we like our full size kitchen and the location is important to us. We like the woodsy area, and our dog loves the dog park. But the Firstbilling service they use is beyond stupid and a rip off. They charge $40 for trash - no recycling included, $100 for cable and internet- even though we don’t watch cable, but we can’t opt. out. Expect to spend $80 on water and sewerage in addition to $80 doing the summer because the apartment is poorly insulated so the AC runs non-stop. Giving it 3 stars because it is in a quite neighborhood with birds chirping almost all year around. They may seem cheap for the area, but they will get you on the monthly bills.
I've just moved I here but i have had great interactions with front office making paperwork stress free, and answering any apartment questions i have had, which was a few! :D The maintenance team has been great helping to ready the apartment and very friendly about finishing touches to help make my transition here a comfortable one. the whole staff seem interested in taking care of their tennants and I am so excited to start my new year here!???
Living here at Northwoods has been a pleasure these 4 years. I would like to commend P J for his quick response to a repair needed in our apt. P J is always friendly and polite. Thank you P J.
I moved to Northwoods in December, while living here I've been comfortable and happy with my apartment. I get along well with all the people in my building. This is my first apartment on my own and it has definitely become my "home sweet home."
We just moved into Northwoods Apartments at the end of January. We absolutely LOVE the layout of the apartment and theres also a wood burning fireplace. Since we love camping, the fireplace definitely was one of the factors that sold us on the apartment. When we moved in, we were able to paint any walls that we wanted to, and hang what we wanted to make the place feel like ours. It is now our home, and we love it! We love the location of the apartment. Its so close to 270 and we can jump right on and go to easton, or go to polaris within minutes and theres so many places to eat. The complex is very nice. There is a dog park, tennis courts, sand volleyball, and much more. My husband and I can't wait for summer to use all of those amenities. When we first moved in, we had a lot of problems that needed fixed in the apartment. The girls at the front building were so helpful and really cared about the things that we needed to have done in the apartment. Our toilet wouldn't flush, our hot water ran out in 5 minutes, we didn't have a screen door on the sliding doors leading to our porch, our kitchen faucet was junk, our washer was broken, and our stove knob was also broken. Of course as soon as we called these in, they put in work orders and came out the same day to fix it. The downfall was that we had to keep making multiple calls back to the from office because the toilet still wouldn't flush after maintenance visited 3 different times and claimed that it was "fixed." Still to this day, it takes 3 or 4 flushes to completely flush toilet paper down, which is somewhat annoying. They said nothing more could be done. Once we stayed on them about the things that needed done in the apartment, eventually they were fixed. We received an entire new sink, which is awesome! They fixed the washer and the oven and they work great now. They put a new piece of equipment on the hot water tank and we have hot water for long warm showers! We also received a screen door, which will be much appreciated in the spring and summer to let some fresh air in. Other than the toilet situation, we have been pretty happy with maintenance and the front desk. They definitely are willing to help out and its so nice that the office is so close and the hours are great for working people. We love our new place and it feels exactly like home!
The staff here are super friendly and want to make sure you have the best experience possible! Maintenance is pretty quick to come fix any problems you have too!
On top of Northwoods having some of the friendliest and personable staff ever, they also have so many amenities and luxuries on site like a gym, pool, tennis court, and a dog park! All the units also come included with a washer and dryer which is what sold me on `Northwoods, All the interiors have been updated with a modern looking kitchen and the layout of the apartments is unique and creative. You will definitely feel at home here very quickly!
I’ll be entering my third year at Northwoods, mainly because of all of the great qualities the complex exhibits. The fitness center is perfect, the wooded view is wonderful, and the layout for the apartment is super ideal because the rooms are so separate. Neighbors will be neighbors, but I still feel like I have enough privacy, and if there was ever a sound issue, it was resolved immediately. You’re super close to food, Highbanks, grocery stores, and Polaris; plus it’s like a mile from 270! The management staff is super friendly and helpful too, plus maintenance is generally fairly fast!
Northwoods is a decent place, the apartments are pretty spacious (we’re in a two bedroom) the property is clean, there’s never an issue with parking, maintenance always comes in a timely manner, the office staff is incredibly nice, and it’s close to everything. However, there are a few downsides. The bundled utilities is the biggest one. Cable, Internet, Water, Sewage, and Trash are all bundled together and cost about $200 a month on top of gas - we pay $47 on the budget billing plan, and electric which is between $30-$40 as we are both conscious about turning things off. $200 may not seem like a lot but when the price is broken down, it gets frustrating. For example about $35 is the fee for trash (which is going up $5 come May). What’s annoying is that trash is a few dumpsters in the parking lots, not some special trash service... it shouldn’t cost that much each month. Also the water and sewage are not metered by unit but by the property as a whole so if you are conscious about taking long showers but your neighbors are not... you’ll be paying more than what you actually use! I know we could be saving a lot of money on utility costs if they weren’t like this. The second downside would be the parking lots and side street don’t get plowed consistently when it snows...on the days the parking lot does get plowed (never the side street) it’s just barely so you’ll be sliding all around. The third downside isn’t about the whole complex itself but worth mentioning. The walls are pretty thin, so if you have loud neighbors you will be able to hear it. For instance, one apartments in the building I’m in has a dog that barks more often than not during the day and it’s very hard to sleep, watch tv, or do anything productive when a dog is repeatedly barking for hours at a time. When I hear him barking, I often wonder how he isn’t tired. But it’s not fun being woken up at 2am on a day you’ve got to be up for work in the morning or at 6am on your one day to sleep in. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love dogs, I just don’t love when all they do is bark. Overall, if the utilities weren’t bundled and were metered by unit and if I didn’t have to listen to a dog barking constantly, I would consider renewing my lease when my current one is up. But as of now, I will not be doing so.
Really great neighborhood and nice apartments! I really enjoy living here.
I have lived at Northwoods for many years, and it was managed VERY poorly. In the last 2 years, the management team was COMPLETELY replaced, and the property has been managed great! It's a HUGE improvement!
Staff is very friendly and helpful, been here for 6 months and are getting new updates that are nice but could be nicer. Great workout room and lounge area for residents as well.
Great location with a staff that really goes the extra mile for you! Love the dog park and Clubhouse facilities too!
Apartments are in very good condition. The management group will answer and more importantly fix any issues in a timely manner.
Our apartments are in a great location while being far enough away from the main street for comfort. We have a nice dog park, pool with plenty of room to lay out, a nice gym, and very friendly staff. Maintenance has been quick to fix any issues that have come up. The best part is that they allow more pets than most apartments, and don't extremely overcharge for it.
Overall the apartment is great! I like the location and I love the fact that there is a workout room, tanning bed, computer lab, lounge, kitchen, swimming pool, basketball, volleyball, tennis, etc. The staff is super cool! They fax paperwork for me almost daily without any hassle. Anytime I have a maintenance issue, they are here and have the problem fixed within 24 hours upon my request. It's quiet, friendly and overall a great place to liveone downfall is that I can hear the neighbors all the time and I'm sure they can hear me, but that comes with any apartment where you have neighbors above or below you and both sides. The pros outweigh the cons.
I moved in less than a month ago. The location of the apartment is perfect, maximum distance to travel to airport, grocery store, restaurants is less than 15 minutes. Sarah was very helpful and made the relocating very easy. Its peaceful and quiet neighbourhood.
Northwoods is a beautiful place to live, complete with wooded views and a lot of privacy. The staff is friendly and helpful, and go out of their way to ensure your living experience is as enjoyable as it can be. They also let my chow chow come with me, something that no other complex i contacted when trying to move to Columbus would do. I definitely would and do recommend this complex to people looking for a comfortable place to live.
The staff are very helpful and the apartments have nice upgrades. The only thing I would change is that the cable and internet is bundled with the utilities, not giving you any other options. Overall happy with my experience so far.
The leasing staff at Northwoods apartments are very helpful and courteous. Maintenance requests are followed up on promptly and thoroughly. Apartments are spacious and conveniently located close to a large metro park, movie cinemas, and restaurants.
I didn’t know what to expect when I moved in but as a first time renter I was happy I chose northwood I applied to a lot of place but Northwoods staff worked with me and ultimately o chose this great place keep up the good work.
The customer service shown to me by the staff at Northwoods has been the best by any apartment complex I've ever seen. They provided just the right amount of attention and sold me on their apartments on the very first visit! They are all friendly and easily accessible to my needs. I highly recommend that you stop in and see them today, before they sell out!
Yumiko worked so hard into getting me this apartment! I appreciate everyone else that helped as well. The place is beautiful, clean, quite, easily accesible to many shopping areas and the amenities are a sure fire reason to sign a lease here! Thank you all!
Great pricing, awesome dog park, good staff! Maintenance is timely as well!
I am very happy with my apartment and the location. I am not too close to the road, but I have very quick access to the highways and restaurants and entertainment. Yumiko was very helpful in the move in process and answered all questions (many) promptly.
I renewed my lease for another 18 months because its a wonderful place to live. Its quiet and the neighbors are very friendly. The office staff are very helpful to any needs I may have. They are doing some improvements to the property and I have to say, things are looking good. Keep it up
Great staff, huge dog park, close enough to a main street but not too close. Lost of parks nearby to enjoy the outdoors. very roomy apartments for a reasonable price, and they keep everything up to date. All in all a great and safe place to live. Definitely planning on re-signing our lease.
Just signed a new lease with northwoods apartments! Love everything about my new apartment. Joe was fantastic in helping me step by step with the process.
I love these apartments and the staff. The only thing I don't like is how the cable is bundled with utilities. If I could sign up with the same company on my own instead of bundled, I could get more for less. Other than that, you won't regret staying here
Been here a few weeks now and so far I love it. Friendly and helpful staff, lots of great amenities ( HUGE dog park, pool, fitness, tanning bed, movie viewing room), and the community is great, don't have to worry if you'll be safe here. Also great location, right off the interstate but far enough away to where there is no noise, with plenty of shopping centers and things to do close by.
