From the shore of Bde Maka Ska lake to the thriving businesses along Lyndale Avenue, Uptown serves as a major hub for arts and entertainment in Minneapolis. The music scene has deep roots, with legendary alumni such as Prince getting their start in Uptown. The nightlife tends to be a bit more subdued than the nearby Warehouse District, but still incorporates dozens of bars and nightclubs catering to a variety of tastes. The neighborhood is known for its artistic flair, reflected in the abundance of public artworks and popular events like the Uptown Art Fair.
When it comes to living in Uptown Minneapolis, folks have several great options. Most of the neighborhood is residential, with everything from historic apartment buildings to large single-family homes lining the streets. The extensive network of tree-shaded sidewalks make it simple to reach your favorite café or neighborhood pub on foot, and Downtown is easily within biking distance.

Property Ratings at Nox Apartments
Love it here! Units are sunny, new, and beautifully designed. Management and maintenance care and are super responsive. Amenities are perfect (work/lounge spaces, patio w/grill, printer, bike room, pet wash, fitness room). Building is a nice size (not too big not too small). Only downside is there isn’t enough garage parking for everyone. I’ve been able to find convenient street spots most of the time but am hoping to get off the parking waitlist soon.
Nox is an amazing place to live. It's recently built in 2021 with new stainless steel appliances, modern cabinetry with soft-close, and beautiful marble stone countertop. Light fixtures have a modern touch. Floors are dark hardwood and windows are full-sized. I love the heated underground parking. It's apparent the builders put a lot of love into the design. The place is very well-kept with weekly cleaners and everywhere from the elevator to the hallways are always spotless. However, as a current resident, what I appreciate the most is the management team. The staff is the most professional rental team I've worked with since living on my own. Everyone from the front desk and maintenance to the VP of operations are super kind, courteous, and responsive. Once, a concerning event happened on the premise, the VP emailed all residents directly to keep everyone informed. He was kind and caring and opened up the opportunity to talk to residents individually if needed. Being in Uptown, crazy things are bound to happen. And it's so comforting to know that Nox is ran by a team of professionals who makes the quality, service, and safety of residents their main priority. I am glad that I chose Nox - Yellow Tree.
I’ve lived in Nox for the past 6 months with a roommate and we’ve had a very pleasant living experience. They have a friendly and responsive team who manages the building. If you ever need work done, they handle it in a timely fashion and always have someone on call for emergencies. I’ve never felt unsafe and everyone we’ve been around has been respectful of others and their space (I.e., clean community spaces, no disruptive noise). Free coffee, free printer (limited pages per month before you would have to pay), community grill and fire pit are all great features. The one tough part about Nox can be the street parking, but it’s not too bad, especially if you get a parking spot below the building. It is an extra cost per month for parking and it can be a little spendy. Overall though, worth checking out if you like being in the heart of Uptown and within a couple blocks of the lakes!
Overall I would say it has been a very positive experience in our first 6 months (may-nov) here at the Nox. We asked to move our move in date back a week and they were very flexible. Overall the place is in excellent condition with high end finishing touches. Although you can definitely tell it was somewhat rushed when you look closely. Every issue with appliances have been handled very quickly and the repair man is a very nice man. We were a little upset to not get parking spots, because we were under the impression there would be at least one for us and have been told there are some not in use due to leaks down there. To sum it up it has been a pleasant time living at the nox for half a year within walking distance to some great uptown spots as well as the lakes. Would recommend to friends and family.
