So far I’m content with the complex. Has everything I need and it’s clean. I like the security and the fact that they tow everyone when parked at the front as they can be noisy at night.

The complex does a great job at ensuring things are clean around the complex and repairing issues are handled in a timely manner. I do wish the main garage was fixed but I’m enjoying living within this community.

A very cozy, comfortable place to live. From where I normally travel from, it is also very easy to get to where I need to go. Neighbors are quiet and respectful, and community events are great.

Maintenance team is decent. But other than that there’s not much to say. Building is drab and no character. Garage is never secure and the gate to allow visitors in is ALWAYS broken so you have to go downstairs to let anyone up through the other gate (which was also broken for about 4 months) I haven’t had to use my fob to open the garage for like 7 straight months because it’s always broken. Hallways and stairwells are dirty and nobody cleans it. Smells like weed 24/7 and bad, cheap weed at that. Don’t expect to enjoy the “amenities” because they’re always over ran by resident's guests who destroy things or break glass in the pool requiring it to be closed for weeks. But yeah, maintenance requests are handled quickly and efficiently. Thank you for them. 3stars only because of them.
I wouldn’t recommend Oak & Ellum. While Tracy from the corporate office was helpful and did her best to assist, and the new maintenance guy Jesse, was also helpful, the overall experience at this property has been disappointing. The level of service just doesn’t match what you’d expect for the price. If you’re looking for a well-managed community, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.
Been here for a year and it’s been great. Problems solved pretty quick. Communication is good. Great amenities. Loved it so much that I decided to stay another year!

Sometimes lack of communication and response to emails or service requests makes it difficult to enjoy paying rent to live here. They offer some events, but it’s always at like 10 AM on a Wednesday like most people work so I would appreciate if they offered events at better times and then the events they do offer. They never have enough items for everyone so it kind of is disappointing when you show up after something that’s been advertised for a week and there’s nothing left. In addition there’s never really enough parking unless you go up to a higher floor a lot of of the doors to enter and exit don’t work the gates have been broken. Just a lot of minor things that could be fixed to make it a lot better.

I moved in based on the tour of the model apartment. Unfortunately, upon move in, I realized my unit was not quite as renovated as I thought it would be. Also, I love the windows but none of them open, so there is always a stale air smell that I notice every time I enter the apartment. Also, for the size of the unit, the closet and shower unit are quite small.

Quiet community, the management responds to maintenance requests in a timely manner, kitchen appliances were brand new when we moved in a year ago. Our unit is spacious enough for me and my husband. This place is very convenient as it is very close to my work. Tom Thumb is across the street for grocery needs.

Overall, we have a great apartment for a great price. Maintenance is always fast and efficient. It is also easy to pay rent. We wish Oak and Ellum wasn’t going on building wide wifi billing (as we pay less now) and our upstairs neighbors are a bit loud, other than that we love our apartment.

Good place to live at with nice amenities. Staff is helpful but there is a lot of improvement to be done regarding the cleanliness of the common area and bbq area

Oak & Ellum is a great apartment . The location is great to walk for errands and Uber for a night out. The property is pretty. There have been issues with the gates, elevators and doors not working properly.

The apartments are fine, and the amenities are nice, but after almost a year, we've decided to move out. The neighborhood is awful. I've had my groceries stolen off my door, my neighbors have had their cars broken into, there are shootings outside my window every week or so... I could keep going. The gates have been fully open for weeks now, there are no security cameras, the parking lot is horrible, very reduced in space and people are always speeding. The one thing that is great about this place, is the service. Every time I've placed a service request they come in the same day or the next day.

I would not advise renting here. The management team lacks friendliness and trustworthiness. They attempted to evict me without any prior notice. When I mentioned that I never received any such notice, they insisted on charging a court fee for an eviction I was never served with. This has been the worst rental experience I've had so far. The initial move-in experience was also unpleasant as there were homeless individuals in my unit, which made me extremely uncomfortable. Despite raising this concern, the management did not take any action to rectify the situation.(in-which I have video evidence of this)

We have a choice of where we live and that chose always comes with a costs. It is great to live someplace that you can see your money being used to maintain and clean the area in which you live. The office staff is second to none in my experience of apartment living. The cleanliness of the property and the pleasant staff makes the living experience at Oak and Ellum a truly enjoyable one. I love my studio apartment view of downtown. Management handles issues quickly and keep you up to date by email. Paying rent is stress free when using the app. Property is in the heart of Deep Ellum which makes getting around easy. Close to the Dart train but no noise from the trains. This is the best value by far.

Overall it’s a good place in a nice area, I feel safe and secure here also it’s a fun place to live as they have nice resident activities to do there. Everyone has been very helpful during the moving process and is very responsive when it comes to questions or concerns.

The place is very noisy because it is close to busy streets. The windows are not soundproof and the management team doesn't offer any help. They ask you to adapt to it.
The staff here is outstanding - really go above and beyond!

Except for location, everything else at this place is poor. Frequent fire alarm trigger (at least once a week), sometimes without any prior notice. Water outage for hours without notification. Frequent repeated emails for non sense stuff. Not to mention fetch. Although it is optional, Fedex has this property as fetch only so they reject delivery without even trying.

I love living here. The apartments that come with a yard are so convenient if you have a pet! The location is good, and the staff is great and attentive to things. The pool and gym are amazing. I like being so close to Tom Thumb.
