National publications constantly place Pittsburgh near the top of the list for most livable cities in America, and it’s easy to see why. The city has a rich history as an industrial and economic hub, which led to the construction of many grand buildings and public sculptures which still stand today. Downtown in particular is rich with beautifully preserved buildings and lush public parks dating back well over a century, giving the entire community a timeless atmosphere.
Pittsburgh is split into three sections by the rivers passing through the city: Downtown (a.k.a. “The Golden Triangle), the North Side, and the South Side. Each has its fair share of attractions and landmarks: the North Side is home to Acrisure Stadium and PNC Park (making it a perfect area for sports fans), the South Side features big, beautiful greenways and refurbished steel mills, and Downtown is where you’ll find the most variety in dining, nightlife, and entertainment.

Property Ratings at Oak Hill Apartments
There's a pool. You just can't use. Actually there are two pools you can't use. They don't have a lifeguard and won't change their policy about the life guard. Fitness area? It's there but the door is locked and it won't open ever apparently. Live on the third floor and want a grocery delivery? Get ready for the broken buzzer so you have to schlep downstairs in your PJs to get the door open or find that other residents are propping the door open (this is not a super safe neighborhood) because they don't want to scurry downstairs. We signed this lease two weeks ago and they lied to us about the pools, the fitness center, and the level of maintenance. Everything is someone else's fault. The buzzer is because the repair company won't call them back. CALL ANOTHER REPAIR COMPANY. and honestly I don't believe they made the call. Add to this that the building reeks of pot and filled with creepy folks and you've got a building you should clearly avoid.
I absolutely hate it here. I have been living here since August 2017 and it has truly been the worst experience. For the longest amount of time my heater was not working as well as my key card to the building. Every time I go out my hallways smells like trash, cigarettes, and marijuana. Also, my neighbors upstairs are always stomping around until 3 am. In addition even though this is supposed to be a "secure: building, my packages have been stolen from my front door. There are multiple signs on the lobby door from residents instructing delivery companies not to leave packages here because it is UNSAFE! DO NOT LIVE HERE!
I have lived on the Oak Hill campus for approximately nine months at this point, although the leasing staff as well as management may seem very warm and inviting, do not let this for you. These will not be the individuals that you will be dealing with on a constant basis. However, your neighbors are the ones that you will get to know rather well. This is not a positive thing. The following is a list of experiences that I've gone through throughout this far. As I said, the leasing office staff, management, as well as maintenance are very very kind people, most of whom seem to enjoy their job. This is a very positive side to the experience it is important for excellent customer care. However, the downsides I feel do not make up the difference. For starters, I was told that the building would be limited to the residents only, and that the building would be secure at all times, with entry though the use of keycard. The front door of my building has never been locked, as well as the side doors that residents leave propped open. I feel makes the building a very dangerous place allow anyone to enter. Your neighbors are also fairly loud, and not just the ones that live next to you. I know that I am unfortunately next to one who listens to loud music at all hours of the day. This will clearly range by experience. What won't change no matter where you live would be that of the loud noises, people screaming, and cars constantly honking outside your window. Being someone who also has a disability, I have found the neighbors aren't really friendly towards that either, more specifically children. I'm not sure what it is about this area, however I have not been made fun of more than I have since I have lived on this campus. It's rather upsetting. Another constant struggle is the smell of illicit drug use in the building. Although management will send out several notices to urge individuals to stop, it continues regardless. I urge you to strongly consider everything that I have mentioned, because you are stuck here for an entire year. It may look like a friendly place to live, but please strongly consider the facts that I've presented before you. Best of luck.

The staff at Oak Hill is extremely nice and helpful. We have had some minor issues with our apartment, but many were out of anyone's control and they were also professional and helpful. Most importantly, this apartment is the best deal we could find in the city. I am a college student with a pet so my option are limited. Oak hill is without a doubt the nicest and cheapest option I could find within walking distance of campus that allowed pets. I am very happy with our choice and am actually resigning our lease today!
