Spanning an area of 27 square miles, the city of Alexandria, Louisiana has a population of around 48,000 people. This moderately-sized city is among the largest in Rapides parish. Since the 2010 Census, it has been found that the city's population has been on the rise with no signs of stopping anytime soon. This is great for those who are looking for an up-and-coming area in which to live. The economy of this town is also booming, making this a wonderful place to move for those who want to start a new career or just be a part of this exciting city.
One of the biggest events in Alexandria is (of course!) Mardi Gras. This exciting event involves parades, great food, entertainment, and lots of fun. Alexandria is home to another popular festival, Que'in on the Red. This event involves Louisiana's world-famous barbeque cooked up by local chefs and plenty of live music. This tasty event takes place in March and is typically held at North Levee Park.

Property Ratings at Bayou Oaks
I absolutely love what this place has become. So much better than it used to be. Ms. Anna has done amazing since she has been here. Its quiet, clean, not much traffic, and so many things have been repaired in the last year. Really hoping this property manager sticks around. by far the best we have had in a very long time!
Things have improved drastically since Anna got here in July of 2018. Something I had been waiting months to get fixed was fixed the first week she was here. She stays on top of things and makes sure the grounds stay clean as well. We have been through alot of managers in the past year but shis by far the best one we have had all the years I have lived here.
I wouldn't recommend these apartments to anyone. They have big and little roaches everywhere. My carpet always is soaked from the pipes. Everything stay breaking. The only thing is nice is the location. And it's crime free. But the out doors look terrible. Tenants put old furniture outside. It has Walmart shopping carts outside. Tentants have broken up blinds and sheets to their windows. That's not a good look. Everyone should have white neat blinds. Trash is everywhere. I could go on and on. If you're thinking about moving here RUN!
There were some issues in the past but things are gradually getting better. The new property manager is much better and really seems to care about the tenants.
I have been living here for a few months. It was an easy move in process. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. Maintenance repairs things quickly. I came from another complex here in Alexandria and this place is much better. Laundry facility and pool located on the property. Ill be here for a while.
I wouldnt recommend anyone to these apartments. The maintenance and management is horrible. Maintenance doesnt come out to fix anything and when he does its half done. The manager is always out of the office and when she is there she just sits and let the phone rings. If I would have known anything about these apartment I would have never moved here.
I have to agree with both comments. When we first moved in 2yrs. Ago, we fell in love with the location and the quietness. We walked in and it was not what we expected. It wasn't move in ready as stated and there were amenities that needed replacing not repairing. As 2yrs. Has gone by, unfortunately, I'm disappointed. The photo above is falsely advertised, the pool stays green, maintenance suck here, etc... What's keeping us here is the fact that the supervisor is very flexible and schools are great for our kids.
I have lived in some places some would consider "bad" from the outside, but it's what's inside that counts...and the inside of this place is junk. Roaches everywhere, water leaks that soak the carpet when it rains, old appliances, breakers that constantly blow, disgusting neighbors, thin walls, AC vents that carry the constant marijuana smell from some neighbor's unit into my unit preventing my kids and I from being able to breath fresh air...I could go on, but you get the idea. The landlord is nice, but is hardly ever here and does not address issues promptly. Maintenance is a joke and is obviously not certified in anything. Thank God I only signed up for a 6 month lease. Once I've served my time here I an GONE. It's not even worth the battle to try and get the issues rectified anymore. They straight up admitted that they had no idea what is causing the water leak every time it rains and can't fix it! I've got mold and mildew growing along the floor panels! There aren't even windows that open so I can try and let the smell of pot out!
First, I want to say the apartments are in a great location and the neighborhood is quiet. I do believe it is price higher than it should be but I guess because of the location. The location does offer the better schools and less crime. These apartments could be upgraded. The cabinets in kitchen need to be upgraded and especially the bathrooms. I believe the tubs been here since the place was built. The tubs are rusted. The a/c was fixed multiple times and the pipes also. No hookups inside the apartments for washer and dryer but on site is available
