One of Detroit's popular inner-ring suburbs, Southfield delivers a distinctly urban atmosphere uncommon to communities of its size. The city holds a place as one of the most important commercial centers in Lower Michigan – the large Southfield Town Center business complex (also known as the “Golden Triangle”) serves as the daily workplace for thousands and hosts conferences year-round. The community is popular for folks who work in the local business sector, but with downtown Detroit just fifteen miles away, Southfield is a convenient option for commuters as well.
The city offers extensive facilities for both indoor and outdoor sports from golf to ice hockey, giving folks ample opportunities to stay active year-round. The city’s art scene largely revolves around Park West Gallery, a first-rate venue that houses a diverse selection of exhibits and frequently hosts art auctions as well.

Property Ratings at Oak Ridge
Lady in the office that answer phone started off the conversation very rude, wasn’t willing to set up a showing, and also told me to do the math when I asked how much do you need to bring in monthly to live there
Call the better business bureau on this complex and the health department!
Today we were scheduled to move in the leasing personal was VERY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL. Met us in the parking lot and would not let us come into office due to her bringing her dog to work. The management company needs to re train their staff to be more helpful and welcoming. Horrible way to welcome people.
I was a good tenant for 5 yes. The owner never did anything to update place. I recently moved out 6–18 The pool was never open. The carpet was never changed. Very dirty. The laundry rooms always had a bad smell. We were told they only vacumed the hallways once a week. The receptionist in the front office was very rude. Please think twice before moving here. Again plz consider moving here.
Please never live in these apartments. They don’t keep up the maintenance. They can’t keep maintenance men there so nothing gets fixed in a timely fashion. The pool hasn’t been open in 3 years because they don’t have the money but rent continues to increase. They advertise an elevator which no one knows where it is. The front desk Denise speaks in the most inappropriate disrespectful manner. She yelled at me and spoke to me as if I was a child. She isn’t helpful. All she does is talk over you and tell you how she’s trying to help. If you want a nice place to live Oakridge Apartment isn’t that choice
When I moved in my apartment was filthy and things were broken. The property manager did not want to clean it until I mentioned escro. When the cleaning person got here here she told me that she remembered my apt and that she didn't clean it. She also told me that she told the property manager. The pool has also not been open all summer and from talking to other residents it wasn't opened last summer either so idk how the person from a year ago got to use it.
I have lived in this complex for over 2 years. Pros. Nice amount of space . Reasonable rent. Clean to decent degree. Fast maintenance. Cons: The owner of the complex does not allow monthly rent payments to be paid either on-line or to be dropped off at the office which is on site.Yes, you can only pay your rental by check and by mailing it in! This results in his being able to ensure that he ( or she) can keep a steady stream of "late fees " due to checks getting to the corporate office late if the timing of your mailing it in is not exact. If your check arrives just one day late this will result in you being hit with a $75.00 late fee no questions asked and no grace period! Also, since I have lived here the so-called Swimming Pool , has" NEVER" been accessible or operational at any time during the summer months. Where is the "Jacuzzi "? Fitness Center? Oh really? Lighting around some parts of the parking stalls is almost non - existent . I am surprised that there are not more issues regarding vehicle thefts , vandalism , etc. This year I am going to make a very strong effort to find another residence based o these factors although I would gladly stay if these items were addressed by the owner. I cannot recommend this place even though it does fit my needs to a degree.
DO NOT MOVE HERE. YOU WILL BE FIGHTING FOR MONTHS TRYING TO GET YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT BACK. I MOVED OUT MONTHS AGO AND STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED IT. WHEN YOU GO TO THE OFFICE TO INQUIRE ABOUT THE DEPOSIT, DENISE SWEARS SHE KNOWS NOTHING AND TELLS YOU TO WRITE A LETTER TO THE PO BOX WHERE YOU SEND YOU PAYMENTS EVERY MONTH. THIS IS RIDICULOUS THAT I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET MY DEPOSIT BACK FOR 7 MONTHS NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF THERE IS ANYONE ELSE HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM, PLEASE REPLY ON THE REVIEWS AND MAYBE WE CAN GET TOGETHER AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS
The reviewer who had a washer and dryer in their unit is fortunate. They're not here anymore, so don't think it! Packages are no longer accepted at the office. If UPS or Fedex can get in, the packages are left in front of your door. The risk is on you. You'd better overnight your rent because the "agent" logging in the rent from the P.O. Box records it when she wants to, leaving it at her disgression to charge an exhorbitant late fee. The hall carpets are NEVER cleaned, despite the claims given. I'm not old and grumpy, just observant and factual.
I love the amount of amenities that they have to offer. love the washer and dryer in unit, pool, Jacuzzi, fitness center, fast maintenance and perfect location
Changes in staffing . Poor building cleaning Old appliances are just fixed with other old parts.
I moved into this apartment when I was a young 20 something and it's served me very well, centrally located lots of nice restaurants shops and businesses close by, love having washer and dryer in unit, package receiving at front office, and the living space is a good size. As with any apartment you have to deal with neighbor noise but management really does a good job in trying to keep that to a minimum. I also like my office nook and patio. Cons: wish I had another closet, common areas like foyers and hallways could be cleaner, rent has gone up since I moved in a few years ago but no real improvements or updates to the property, maintenance could be more timely and professional, and I notice these things now that I'm older, but it didn't bother me before. That's why I recommend this as a good first apartment but then after a while it's time for an upgrade as it is with me right now, I want more space and amenities, something more condo-like and not so many stairs, a private entrance, I'm getting old and grumpy, LOL! :)
Great size apartment for pricing and location. Update appliances and this apartment is the best investment. Off 696 and The Lodge water and ac included in rent. Did I mention there's a pool? Neighbors are friendly and keep to themselves.
