Property Ratings at Oak Valley Apartments
I’ve talked with some of my neighbors who have lived in the building over 5 years and my apartment has had the same mold problem for over 5 years but they said they have never had a mold problem. The basement is always backed up with sewage and makes the halls stink, I’ve been informed they have bed bugs and roaches and the office staff are rude and unprofessional my biggest problem in my unit is mold but now I found a roach in my kitchen and I keep a clean house
If I could give this place no stars I would! To start off It was my first apartment and I rented here I moved in and less than a MONTH I got bit by something I went to the ER because it swelled up my ankles but they couldn’t figure out what the bite was from..so I went back home and did my own research it wasn’t a mosquito nor a spider it ended up being a BED BUG!! I’ve never seen nor been bitten by a bed bug I didn’t even know what they looked like...I kept telling my bf it had to be a bed bug the bites were too similar and started around my ankles however he didn’t believe me until one night he got bit. I was highly disgusted of the thought of a bug biting on me while I was asleep so me and my boyfriend moved out to our living room and the bed bugs were on our new furniture!! So we had went to Walmart and got bed bug killer and bought an air mattress and we slept on an air mattress for about a month or two but that still did not stop the bugs ! Every single might we would have to spray the bed and around the carpet to keep them away, one day I was cleaning the apartment and I kid you not! A bed bug came from the crack of the wall and went back under!! It was the building that had the infestation it was not a safe environment! I’ve never been so scared to go to sleep or even be in my own home, and not to put the icing on the cake but there were mouse droppings as well! Under the kitchen sink including a hole! There were dropping in the closets, and behind the refrigerator as well! Also the refrigerator and freezer barely worked! however, we never seen a mouse the entire 2-3months of living there. I had contacted the leasing office the sent a “exterminator” to the rescue and he didn’t do anything !! For the mice all he did was set 2 traps down! For the bed bugs he gave us some white cloth like sheets and sprayed some type of stuff on ALL of our furniture which made it way worse and for the roaches I found on the stove top and inside the drawers he put some gel like substance in the corners to catch them! The neighbors are another issue I’ve had to call the cops for the neighbors UNDERNEATH me to stop blasting their music on a weekday it was so loud the floor would vibrate! The neighbors also caused the place to almost catch fire! I don’t think they should be allowed to rent out those apartments, it needs to be burned to the ground!
This is a place I would not recommend! Thankfully my husband and I will be out in a matter of weeks. Since we got here almost if not every night our apartment would smell like Weed. Our neighbors under us would smoke all the time and as everyone knows smoke rises. Did I forget to mention I have a one year old that has to smell that as well!.. Another issue here is that there is a mouse infestation! We can hear them moving around where the heaters are. We also find Mouse droppings along the edge of the wall.. ITS DISGUSTING!!... The walls are so thin here as well. People let their children scream and run down the halls and it almost sounds like there right there inside your apartment..The washing machines are also gross. They never clean them. There is always dog hair all around on the inside of the washers plus they always smell like mildew. One of the dryers doesn’t even work and hasn’t for i don’t even know how long now... The only positive thing I can say about this place is that the people at the front have always been super helpful when it comes to answering questions.. Other then that if you want to live comfortably don’t waste your money here spend a little more if you have to to make sure you live in a clean and comfortable home.
This apartment complex is filthy and the management has no communication. You are given a phone number that goes right to voicemail which they do not return most of the time. We have had a mouse infestation problem (10 within 3 days) which they have "tried to fix" which just included maintenance stuffing steel wool in a corner and pest control laying down traps where we already had them. When the ceiling started to collapse due to a leak I was not told anything unless I went straight into the office to ask what was going on. The people who fixed it broke our flower pot and left moldy ceiling pieces on the carpet. I would not suggest living here to anyone.
