Property Ratings at Oakbrooke
If I could give zero stars I would. The ladies in the front office are so disrespectful, don’t care about anybody, rude, and I could go on and on and on. They will charge you extra each month without warning you. And if you have an animal, please do not live in these apartments they will hound you anyway they can. The apartments are very trashy. They never mow the grass I have found moles in my apartment. It is absolutely disgusting. The windows are so old you will have an outrageous heating bill. They also don’t know how to put insulation in so you will have an outrageous heating bill. Make sure you take into consideration all of the extra charges because of the crappy apartments they have. I would highly recommend anybody either move out or never live in these apartments. The main manager laughed because everything was going so downhill and I don’t blame her. The water here… Don’t ever consume so put that into your monthly rent that you will need to buy store water to drink. They never update the apartments so you will have calcification all over your toilets, your sinks, your faucets, showers, etc. I could go on and on, but Oakbrooke Apartments in Howell, Michigan are NOT A good place to live Please reconsider your Living options. ZERO STARS!!!!
Will nickel and dime you every chance they get and raise your rent a ridiculous amount every year.
Lived here for 4 years. No complaints, office staff is always helpful.
We were told we had to give the complex $300 for a non-refundable Surebond. Then the corporate raised our rent by $200 in the middle of a pandemic so we were forced to move. When we moved they made us pay $130 in "damages" that didn't exist. Rent will go up dramatically ever year.. You'll know when maintenance has been in your apartment because there will be mud tracks on the floor and the whole place will reek of cigarettes and pot. They had a disgusting brown liquid explode all over the living room into the bedroom and they just left it for us to clean. The dishwasher and washer/dryer need to be ran on multiple cycles to get anything clean. The dryer took 2 hours to dry a load. The water is hard and disgusting and maintenance refuses to come and fix anything besides furnace filters. Our ceiling was caving in. Dont waste your money on this place.
6 stars! My boyfriend and I moved here from Chicago recently. The rent is relatively inexpensive for a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom. It has vaulted ceilings and beautiful natural light. It's spacious and has everything: laundry room (not just a closet, a whole room!), dishwasher, garage, balcony. The rent is easily paid through an app. When we first moved in our dishwasher wouldn't work. I put in a maintenence request through their easy-to-use online portal/app and got a new dishwasher installed the next day. Recently, our freezer stopped working and I did another maintenence request. After trying to fix it without success, I got a new fridge. It was fast and painless and the maintenence workers are respectful and hard-working. We're very happy living in a complex where we feel taken care of and children are safe enough to play in the streets. Thank you Oakbrooke staff!
This is the worse apartment complex I have EVER lived in my entire life. I've had everything wrong with all the appliances except for the refrigerator, shower leaking, toilet not flushing, lights outside not being replaced with new bulbs after numerous contacts with the office. Had to contact the Oakbrooke Office and the Corporate lady in Farmington Hills numerous times. The maintenance and office staff are disrespectful, ruded and lazy. The apartment had crackes in the apartment ceiling and openings behind the stove and refrigerator to the inside walls. The apartment smells really bad like an attic and can also smell other residents cooking smells as if someone was cooking in your apartment, everyday, even when you weren't cooking. If you're a single woman don't move here since it's difficult getting things fixed and other men in the complex tries picking you up if you go for walks in the complex. This is a very stressful place to live. It has made me sick living here. I wished I would have known. It's not worth the time and money living here. The water is not drinkable. The snow doesn't get removed and it's very icy. I'm moving out now and some of the appliances and other things still haven't been fixed. Not worth the Energy!
Buildings are cheap material, not enough parking, appliances aren't the best, water isn't great quality, but overall not the worst place to live. The staff could be more professional though, if I have a package delivered to the office they should contact you in a professional manner like calling your cell phone and not telling you to add them on social media networks. This is not a proper way to conduct business.
Pretty decent apartments but wish rent was a bit lower. Love having a washer and dryer inside my own apartment though!
The Office Assistants are not on the same page, they each tell you something different. No the back pedal on everything they say and never keep to their word. There are BUG BUG & BUGS!! and their definition of someone "spraying" for bugs is their maintenance man with a can of bug spray from the grocery store. They "cleaned" before we moved in, or maybe wiped down with a wet cloth because nothing was really cleaned when we moved in. I have lived in 4 apartments and this is by far the worse one!!
Hi! I would like to start off by introducing myself....My name is Cheryl. :) I have lived at my current residence, Oakbrooke Apartments for 4 yrs now. I would have to say that my overall experience with the staff, maintenance and pool facilities have been average. I have seen two different people from my building moving out and another across the street from me....was quite strange! I always wanted to move into a house and rent out a home. Due to being disabled and low income has caused me not to be able to do it. Anyways...If I won...I would like to move into a home. Where I had a fenced in yard for my dog! I hope you choose the best candidate. :)
