Steeped in history and unique culture, Baltimore is among America’s most culturally-rich cities. Centuries spent as a major port city have contributed to a diverse mix of influences, resulting in the eclectic range of food and art found in Baltimore today. The relatively compact layout of the city makes life a bit easier for pedestrians and cyclists — it also means that, even though the city is home to over 600,000 people, it retains the feel of a much smaller community. The city’s neighborhoods display a huge degree of variety, ranging from rowhouses to high-rise apartments to charming suburban subdivisions.
It’s an excellent city for sports fans, with the Orioles and the Ravens representing Baltimore in the big leagues. The arts community is quite active in Baltimore as well, largely thanks to the Maryland Institute College of Art and the huge Artscape festival that draws thousands every May.

Property Ratings at Oaklee Village Apartments
The rodent problem is out of control, you can even hear the walls moving when you sit in the rental office for a couple minutes. On Christmas Eve the vacant unit above mine's pipes burst, the windows were left open in freezing temperatures causing the pipes to burst. Property management did nothing, called for hours complaining about the water flooding into my apartment and finally emergency services were called to shut the water off. My unit was destroyed, property management refused to do anything to help, would not move me into another unit and acted like the ceilings caving in was okay, they'd just drape tarps over my stuff while they tore out the walls and ceiling...

Thank you for taking the time our to provide us with a review. We are so sorry that you had a bad experience while living at Oaklee Village. Please contact us at the rental office to further discuss your concerns.
I've lived at Oaklee Village since March and I have been very happy. The rent is priced perfect for my budget. It is an older property but it is kept up nicely. The leasing office folks are very helpful.
The apartments are mice infested, have roaches climbing up and down the walls and maintenace workers are inexperienced.

Not the most desirable place to live. Living in a small apartment with no dedicated water meter is a little sketchy to say the least. The first year our h20 bill was $35 a month. The second year it doubled to over $70 a month and I just received an h20 bill for $88 for the month of April. It's like a nightmare that you just can't wake yourself up from.

APARTMENT FULL OF ROACHES (inside the fridge, on walls, in bedroom, kitchens, bathroom) and if you call to ask for any maintenance service their staff will just show up whenever they want (not following schedule). Despite of Covid they don't wear mask, they step their working shoes everywhere inside your apartment. MANAGEMENT IS A JOKE!!! RUDE, MEAN, DISRESPECT TO TENANTS. YOU WON'T GET YOUR DEPOSIT BACK!!! These apartments are old and broken even before you even move in but you will be charged for every single thing that goes bad since the moment you step foot in. Our bathtub peels off 4 times within 5 months. RENT increased 3% annually regardless of the horrible condition of this old apartments complex (non-improvement) Absolutely one of the worst places to rent! Do not be fooled and rent here!

My lease ends 7/31/21, I have lived here a year. During my stay here, I have paid my rent on time and haven't had any complaints from other neighbors. The people that work in the rental office always seems to never have no answers or solutions for any problems you may have but they were decent while I was moving in. They sent me an itemized list for everything that will need to be fixed by me before moving out or I will loose my deposit. Blinds cost $25 each but they cannot provide proof that they pay $25 each for these blinds( I've been asking for 2 months). Also, my car was hit directly in front of the leasing office, I thought great they have cameras. False, the cameras do not work they are there just for show. Apparently, parked cars being hit is normal, happened to my neighbor and a few others. Oh, can't forget! I received a violation warning because I left my sons carseat to dry in front of my door. Now, I have seen neighbors park their car on the grass in front of their door overnight and others have toys(a lot of kids toys), grills, table sets and other miscellaneous things sitting out front. Grilling and having parties right out front of your building as well.Bugs and mice are literally right in front of your apartment building as well! It's great for saving money but that may change since they have upped the rent. They haven’t done anything to the complex. It’s still outdated with no AC and no fake floors they buy from the dollar store.

Hello Angela. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Oaklee Village, although we regret that you had these issues during your stay. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your constructive feedback, and will use it to continue to make our community the best it can be. We wish you the best of luck in the future, and hope you’ll reach out if we can assist you in any way.
Main issues I had with it: no A/C, bugs every now and then (not a distressing amount, but it could be better sealed), and general look and care of the complex. Main things I liked: low prices, the walls are pretty thick, good parking availability most of the time, and it's close to UMBC. It's a fine place to live if you're a broke college kid. Currently 5 months into a year lease with a roommate in a 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment. The laundry facilities are... not awesome. I still go to my mom's to do laundry, but my roommate thinks the complex's laundry is fine. It is generally kind of run-down, there are some cracks in the walls, poorly installed furniture, sub-par paint job, and for some reason the window screens are really brittle and break super easily.

Hello. Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review. Hearing from our residents is one important way that we are able to improve our practices for all renters. We would love an opportunity to address all of your concerns, so please give us a call or email to discuss. You can contact us at 866-548-0506 or sjones@blueocean.com. Thank you.
Completely INFESTED with mice. Don’t move here. They don’t do anything about the problem either. In fact they don’t do anything about much! The good reviews on here are obviously fake. The only good thing here is the rent is cheap. If a mouse infestation and terrible management is what you’re looking for I guess it’s a fair price.

This apartment complex is an okay and affordable place to start off in. The area is pretty quiet and decent for the area that it is located in. I would like to just start off by saying that make sure you ask ALL of the questions that you need to ask them because they will not tell you everything that you need to know unless you ask them. First things first NONE of the utilities are included so you will have to pay for your own utilities plus your rent. Then you have to pay for the trash fee that’s $15 a month plus your rent . You can’t Opt-out of the trash fee they force you to pay for something that is not really being done AT ALL. I have been living there for a few weeks now and I have yet to see anyone come and get anyone’s trash and plus on top of that the dumpster’s are not too far from the apartment complex they are overflowing with trash . Not only that their communication skills are not good at all when it comes to the leasing office and the managers. You have to keep calling them and emailing them all the time . I feel like as far as communication skills it’s one sided. Now the customer service is good but the communication skills are off .

Thank you for letting us know about this. Your feedback helps us get better. We truly want you to love your living situation, so please contact us at 866-548-0506 or sjones@blueocean.com so that we can discuss your concerns and work on solutions.
First, MOUSE INFESTED. Please don’t move here. I’m a senior in college just trying to get my work done before I go to work currently, and I am sitting on my bed scared to put my feet on the floor. I have to be to work in a few hours and I’m scared to even open my closet to where my uniform is. Secondly, the leasing office manager is very rude and acts like they aren’t aware of THEIR problems in THEIR buildings. Third, my paint is chipping off the wall in my house. I can peel off some pieces in big sections. I asked for a lead report after discovering this problem and never received a copy. They have been telling me for weeks I would be emailed one. Furthermore, I moved in August and my toilet was leaking some kind of sewage every time it flushed and my sink was clogged up. It took them until the end of October to fix that. In conclusion, I will be moving out next week and I just moved in August (before I wrote a statement the leasing office manager tried to say I would have to pay two months rent, and be billed until the end of the month; that’s like paying because I need to move out because of their problem. Absolutely not, don’t let them trick you). This was my first apartment on my own, a honest review no exaggeration. If you like cheap rent and living with lots mice and lead paint this is the place for you, but if not...beware.

Oaklee Village is a wonderful apartment complex. The office staff are curteous, friendly and helpful. The maintenance staff are very prompt and knowledgeable. They complete the tasks within a reasonable time period. They always keep you posted on arrival times for repairs. The fact that they are pet friendly and conveniently located to Baltimore and Washington, makes it even better. If you are on a tight budget, their rent can't be beat.
This is a great affordable first apartment. Pet friendly and a close commute to downtown Baltimore.
Well let me first state that I have lived here 2 years now and the only reason why I am here now cause as soon as my lease ends I am gone. The wires in the wall are old,the paint in the whole house is chipping, the only cable provider that you can use is comcast. So in the last 3 months they was spoke to change the air filter and have the pest control come out and spray. That never happened. I got a letter the other day that state that if you been here 3 years that u could get updated paint and other things. Why would I do that. The rent is really cheap. That is the only good part but the management office doesn't even care about it residences. There is also so many vacancies cause of the bs that goes on in the office. The neighborhood is very quiet. But you can't grill out side or have friends over. And also but not forgotten is trash removal some times they pick it up and most of the time I have to walk it to the trash container. They can charge me to remove my trash but for the past month I have been waking it over to the trash container. Really if I had to rate this place I would give it 1 out 5. And not any more. Thanks
This is a great neighborhood. Its quiet, clean, and the staff are great! If ever there is any issue with one's residence the office staff are quick to respond and resolve the matter. The difference with this neighborhood and any other is here there is moral. The staff will have recognize birthdays, send newsletters, have block parties and cookouts and it gives the community a sense of family and brings everyone an open opportunity to come together and enjoy "home." Oaklee Village is a great place to live!
With this being my first apartment after college, I would have to say that it was a nice size and very affordable.
