Property Ratings at Oakmont Flats Apartments
I moved into Oakmont Flats in August 2022. The one bedroom apartment had a good space. I was skeptical renting out the ground floor as I have bad allergies but I needed a place to move and this seemed like it could a place I'd call home. A month after moving in, I had issues with mice. One mouse got into my apartment and scurried around my bedroom at night and they would also manage to get stuck on my patio (a patio I haven't been able to use since moving in). It's basically an extended trash can w/ gunk and trash from other residents at this point. In March 2023, my Rav-4 that was registered with the apartment, was towed from the parking lot without warning. The two apartment managers I saw would not contact the tow company or help me get the car back and they also didn't tell me that either of them had called the tow truck company. The first week of July, I go back to my apartment and my bathroom is flooded. This was no fault of my own, the pump had backed up and overflowed into my bathroom and also into my bedroom. I reached out to management and they brought in maintenance to fix the issue. Everything seemed okay except for the huge dehumidifier they had blowing in my bedroom. I come back on 7/6 ( a week later) and as soon as I opened my door I could smell the stench of sitting water. My bathroom had flooded again. I called maintenance to see if they could come fix the bathroom. On 7/8 I received a notice from maintenance that said the request was completed. I came back to my apartment a week later, my bedroom rug was torn out from a corner with one big, loud dehumidifier blowing under the rug and another blowing into my bathroom. I reached out to management to see if I could be compensated for the time that I could not live in my apartment and they would not give me anything for it (which honestly blew my mind). The flooding was not my fault and that apartment was unlivable during the time. If I had not had a girlfriend who's place I could stay at I would be staying at a hotel or bunking with friends. From my understanding they haven't even tested for mold in the apartment. Talk to the residents before you decide to move in. I know some people that have had a solid experience and others that can't wait to move out. I've felt trapped at Oakmont Flats since I've moved in. I don't feel good when I'm in my apartment, I do like my neighbors, but it's been a tough experience.
i’ve lived here for two years, Bryan and Carlie in the office are great and the new maintenance actually do the work orders you put in! but the new management are barely updating the apartments and raising the prices through the roof (they change the cabinet color and the floors) they act like this is luxury living and it’s the furthest thing from it. for the price they’re asking the community and apartments should really get an upgrade.
Requested simple video/virtual tour and was told the one property only supports in-person, then pushed to view other properties which I had no interest, before curtly telling me "Thank you for your time". It's just a facetime call, didn't know that was a big ask... Customer service is poor. Just tell me you're not interested in my business. I'll take it as a red-flag, and just be thankful I dodged a bullet.
Please I am begging you, reconsider signing a lease with this place. I moved into this mess 4 days ago and have had nothing but issues. My whole apartment flooded on the second day due to people flushing wet wipes down their toilets. The maintenance guys took 2 hours to show up, then were in my apartment for another two hours with a shop vac. They finally left at 1 am and I had work the next day at 6 am. They left a mess with and a horrible stench I had to deal with. They turned off the water that night so I could not shower or brush my teeth that night or until the morning. Thank god my work has a shower so I cleaned up there in the morning. The maintenance guy (Ronnie) told me they would clean up the mess and it would be all good by 8 a.m. the next day. I come home from work at 5 p.m. to an apartment that smells terrible and has dirt all over the floor. No one answered my calls to help me. That was only issue #1 2. Please, if you make the mistake of signing a lease here in general, do not talk to or receive help from Carlee who works in the front office. I paid the required 40 for valet trash service. she told me it would be here by now. It's been 5 days and I still don't have it. She's also told me the issues below would be resolved. They haven't. 3. My apartment was also supposed to be equipped with a fire alarm. It wasn't present when I moved in. The spot it was supposed to be in just has a frame around it with no fire alarm. The office has failed to supply me with one. 4. One of the lightbulbs was out in the Kitchen when I moved in. I told them about it on the first day. It's still not here. The incompetency of staff and the maintenance team has been unbelievable. Oh yeah, there were also white stains on the floor when I moved in and the apartment smelled bad. I will be attaching pictures. There lease is like 20 pages long but they cant even fulfill it. Please, do not move here.
EVITAR!
Do not rent from here. Nobody lives here longer than a year, and when you are here they will do anything to squeeze any cent they can out of you. There is no community. The apartments have space but I have had mouse issues, toilet flooding, and other issues since moving in. They also have a deal with Magnolia Towing where they like to send their residents car 40 miles away and then charge them to get them back. I still haven’t gotten it back because I don’t know if what it will cost to get it back is probably more than it’s worth (thanks Oakmont!). These people do not care about their residents, they just want you to pay them enough money so that their lights stay on. Management will do anything they can do o avoid face to face communication with their residents. When I confronted the property manager about it she acted like she had no idea what was going on. Even worse is that she knew I was struggling financially. This place will make you feel bad for living here. I have had some dark days in this apartment - don’t make the same mistake I did.
This is our first time moving into an apartment and they made it easy and stress free. Absolutely recommend.
I highly recommend not moving in Oakmont. This is by far the worse experience I have had trying to rent an apartment. Poor communication… poor follow through… I was approved and was told I would be getting a welcome letter. Did not hear back from them. Even after I left emails and voice mail. Property Manger called me and told me she would reimburse my application fee. Also asked if I would take down my poor review. I agreed to do so. 8 days later and no check. Sent an email and again no response. I don’t care about the money. It bothers me how they treat potential residents. Can only imagine what actual tenants deal with!!!
I absolutely loved coming to look at this place. The clubhouse/rental office is comfortable and set up nice. They have a very nice playground. We came up to talk, I was actually running late and it was 2 minutes before 4:30 so she asked us if we want to see it. Yes! Thats literally all anyone wants to hear! Now, I can tell you from the outside, that just glancing, you may question this place and think it’s neglected. IT IS NOT. They have Nice hardwood floors, decent sized kitchen, that comes with a dishwasher and big deep sink, a dining room, with a ceiling fan. PLENTY of storage. Bathroom went into one of the bedrooms; well walk-in closet with shelf’s. The bedrooms have carpet. The bathroom, giant mirror, and big area for medicine cabinet. Wide tub. The bathroom wasn’t tiny either. Just overall spacious, you can also walk out side on the balcony and just relax. I can’t wait to be here.
If I could give this place a zero out of any stars I would. This place is has no customer service when it comes to the office staff and the property manager here is the worst of them all. The maintenance people are the only friendly people you will staff wise here. I will tell this. My boyfriend and I have lived here now since April and have had nothing but continuous issues. I could go on for days how many issues we have had since we have moved in. But tonight was the last straw. These pictures represent what happened tonight. My bf and I were walking down the steps tonight and the entire rubber came off this concrete step and I fell down all 3 steps. If anyone wants an apartment in this area please take my advice DO NOT MOVE HERE. The office staff will try to sweet talk you our your tour but don’t fall for it they will not help your care about you as a tenant once you move in they write you off as a check not a person. I hope this helps others and prevents others from having such a horrible experience in living.
I just moved into apartment building 5 and so far I couldn’t be happier with my decision of applying here! The application process was easy, they were quick to respond and quick to get you moved in! My daughter, dog and I are very happy!
I've lived here for a year and they've been great! Their maintenance has been extremely timely when we've needed them. It has a pool, playground, and a little dog park. The neighbors are nice. Good place to own a dog. I haven't had any issues with anyone!
